It was the Hagg family in 'Moonrunners'. Here's one of the chases from the movie:

I can see one or maybe even two of the younger Dukes moving away but there's no way all 3 would have gone and left a fragile Uncle Jesse by himself. I'll never watch a reunion movie again.  In my mind Hazzard County hasn't changed since its prime (seasons 2-4) and never will. Jesse, Boss, Rosco, Lulu, Miz Tisdale, Waylon ....all still alive and well if you ask me.

I don't really care for the Coy & Vance episodes though there are a few gems. There is one episode from Season 7 I usually skip past, can't remember the name of it but Bo & Luke jump the General over a barn, it is so cheesy and stupid. You can tell it's a model car and you can tell they really didn't spend the money on the shot otherwise it would have been done better.

Here's a picture of the General Lee from 'The Ghost Of General Lee'.  It was actually a white Charger.  The orange glow was added in post production.

There's definitely a person in the jail cell in that scene. They are wearing a light-colored shirt and a cowboy hat, and spend their whole time on screen with their head lolling down in their lap. I don't remember any reference being made to this person, and Enos doesn't seem to include them in the food order. A while later when we see Enos take the phone call from Daisy the person is no longer visible, but we don't get to see the whole cell that time.

I guess it won't be Steelers vs Packers like I predicted. Didn't COOTER have a Falcons hat on in an episode early in the series? I sure hope the Falcons can win in two weeks.
I disagree Hobie. The Falcons offense can be pretty explosive. I think they'll win.

Herbie nor the Bandit did better than the General Lee.
The General Lee was, still is, and will always be, THE BEST!

LOL That's funny. Winning the Super Bowl would be a bigger miracle than the Cubs winning the World Series......Garrett's the only person I know who thinks the Lottery can be won without a ticket....ya gotta admire that kind optimism.

...I'm new here so hello everyone!

    Right, a quick introduction:
The first time I came across the Dukes of Hazzard was in a cardboard box of old die-cast cars. Not the most interesting but please bear with me!
I was gifted them from a cousin who thought he had 'outgrown' all the toy cars. (What a silly boy, one does not 'outgrow' toy cars!) I accepted them gladly and after a quick rummage, I discovered only two cars I couldn't place so promptly went to ask my Dad.
Well, it just so happened that one of those cars was an orange Dodge Charger and I think you can probably fill in the rest! I became a Dukes of Hazzard fan at the age of 13 and have held the Dukes in fond regard ever since.
I was browsing the internet and stumbled across this website again and was amazed to find I'd never registered before - how remiss of me! Of course, this is me rectifying that glaring error on my behalf!

    To summarise:
Hello everyone! I probably ramble on too much but am looking forward to chatting to like-minded Dukes fans!
    (It's a good thing I don't actually own a CB radio - you'd never get a word in edgeways!)

The old forum software let you edit your posts for 10 minutes. I'm guessing that the new software is doing something similar. There are no restrictions once you become a Veteran, but I think you can see the sense in not making this privilege available until a member has proved themselves.

If the planned Wiki site gets off the ground, I think Mufn was only going to let Veterans edit it, at least to begin with, so you should ask about becoming one.

Don't worry Susan. The Supreme Superior Commander hasn't thrown anybody in the pokey for quite awhile. I think the last time it happened is when I got thrown in for disorderly conduct for  mentioning nobody's been thrown in lately.....shucks....did I just do it again?

My vote is for the MediaWiki option. I think that making the wiki a separate resource would work better (hazzardnet.com/wiki or similar). If you can't make the single sign-on work, we can always use the same username and password that we have on the forum.

Personally, I'm not that bothered if it looks like the rest of the site - most wiki-style sites I read just look like Wikipedia, but HazzardNet customizations are very welcome.

It would probably be best to initially restrict editing access to Veterans, at least until the templates and main pages are in place. After that, it could be opened up.

We'll have to discuss the rough form of the pages when the great opening gets nearer. For the episode pages, I'd suggest: Brief plot (a couple of lines), Detailed plot (a couple of paragraphs), Cast/Crew, Trivia, Goofs, Quotes and Locations. Did I miss anything? We can have a page for each actor and character that requires one, and pages for important places like the Boar's Nest, Duke Farm etc.

    Thats the song California Gurls.
Basically she talks about daisy Dukes as the shorts. Shorts just wouldn't sound right in the song, and everyone knows Daisy Dukes!
"California gurls, we're unforgettable. Shorts, bikinis on top. Sun-kissed skin, so hot, we'll melt your popsicle. Oh oh oh oh."
It just doesn't sound right that way.

IMCDb has it listed as a Harley Davidson, although there's a question mark hanging over it. I don't know much about bikes, but I think the badge on the tank matches those of older Harleys.

OK, here it is from 'Coltrane Vs. Duke' in season 4 (more info after the picture):
cooter's phone by mommydawn2000, on Flickr
Turns out that particular number has an interesting history. From Wikipedia:
"In the United States, 311 was sometimes used as a fictitious area code in Bell System advertisements depicting telephones; often the phone in the advertisement would bear the specific number "Area Code 311 555-2368." This fictitious phone number was used in the 1979 horror film When a Stranger Calls; in the opening of the television series The Rockford Files; in the 1984 film Ghostbusters; and on two episodes of the second season of the TV series Mission: Impossible: episode 22 titled "The Killing" (on the killer's phone) and, fourth season, episode 12, titled "Time Bomb" (on a phone at a nuclear plant in a fictitious country).
311 555-2368 was also used in numerous episodes of The Bionic Woman as the private phone number of Jaime Sommers in her coach house. At the end of a 1963 episode of Route 66, titled "Kiss the Monster, Make Him Sleep," Linc calls his estranged father at a number having area code 311. The number 311-555-9845 was used for a radio station hotline in episode 1, season 1, of the TV show A.L.F. This area code is also used as the area code for Sunnyvale, California (which is actually 408) in the 1983 movie WarGames during the "war dialing" sequence where the main character is searching for a video game company's modem pool.

Traffic in Tennessee??  Try coming to Orlando!  People from all over the world in rental cars trying to figure out where Disneyworld or the malls are.  And when it rains, they and the locals seem to forget how to drive!

Back to Hobie's original question: No, you are not the only one.  Its great that other folks see Hazzard the same way I do.  Beyond the silly antics of Boss, Roscoe, and Cletus and the impossible feats of the General Lee, you really do get a feel for this show's location.  Despite the best efforts of Hollywood to make a caricature of life in the rural South, there is something genuine and attractive that comes through.  I credit the original spirit in which the show was created plus the ongoing efforts of the cast to infuse the show's characters with some integrity.  Its easy to point out the repetitive nature of the scripts, especially as the show reached 5,6, and 7 seasons.  But to me, every time I tune in is like visiting old friends- you would never complain about doing the same old thing with good friends.
