This is the only episode in which Daisy doesn't appear. Despite the Aunt Kate storyline, in reality, Catherine Bach was away filming TV special 'Circus of the Stars'.

I happened upon the video below yesterday while looking for something completely unrelated to Dukes. It's an episode of the Sally Field series 'Gidget' from 1966.
 

As I was watching, a familiar face appeared. Peggy's only in it for about 20 seconds (4:22-4:42), and she's rather rudely credited simply as "Fat Lady".


 

To dovetail with my last post I thought I'd include a link to Peggy Rea's first appearance in the last show she was in. The series was 'Grace Under Fire' (1993), and Peggy played Grace's interfering mother-in-law, Jean Kelly. Throughout the five seasons Peggy appeared in 51 episodes (nearly half). It looks like this was the first series created by Chuck Lorre, who went on to create 'Cybill', 'Dharma & Greg', 'Two and a Half Men', and 'The Big Bang Theory'.
The link below is for YouTube, so hopefully everyone can see this one. Of course, it may get taken down. The video quality isn't the best, even at 480p, but it's quite watchable. Hopefully one of my local TV stations will show this again one day, or it'll get a full DVD release.

Thought I'd put up a couple of pics of Sorrell before he became Boss Hogg.
The first is from a Dukes book I have. In 1962 he played the title role in the musical (stage production) of 'Fiorello!'.
The second is from one of his 2 appearances as Gen. Wilson Spaulding Barker in the first season of MASH in 1972.

The episode where Jesse tells Bo and Luke to visit Aunt Lavinia (who he hasn't spoken to in over 20 years) is 'Return of the Ridge Raiders' in season 2. Daisy is in the episode showing off the Pretty Piggy costume for Boss' Playpen, so maybe you're mixing up two episodes.

No one's been posting race results lately - me included!

Formula 1 is now on its summer break, but to summarize the season so far, Max Verstappen won his eighth race in a row last Sunday and his 10th out of 12 this year. The other two races were won by his Red Bull team mate Sergio Perez. Although there has been some good racing behind for the remaining podium positions and points, y'all can probably see why I didn't bother posting the F1 results.

I've literally just read a message from a friend of mine who lost a close friend over night, and that's just three weeks after she buried her mother. I obviously never knew your daughter, but you've shared various stories about meeting her over the years, so I feel like I know a bit about her. You'll be in my thoughts.

Roger, I'm sure the feelings will come to you in waves. My friend who lost her mother recently suddenly got hit with the realization that she'd never see her mother again about a week ago. Another friend of mine lost her father around the same time. I bumped into her earlier for the first time in a couple of weeks, and she's still on an emotional roller-coaster going back and forth across the country sorting things out.

If you want to wrap up this thread, that's for you to decide, but no one will complain if you want to keep posting. HNet is generally a happy place where we come to escape the troubles of the world, but it also has some nooks and crannies for topics like this.

Yesterday we lost Irish singer Sinead O'Connor at the age of only 56. I'm aware that she was a very controversial figure, especially in the US, but she always stuck to her principles rather than chasing fame or fortune, and campaigned for some worthy causes. She also struggled with mental health issues. There's been a huge outpouring of tributes over here for the singer with the fantastically pure voice. She influenced so many female artists including Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morissette. P!nk even sang 'Nothing Compares 2 U" to honor her in concert last night.
