Hey, don't knock it. I made an apple, a kite, a dead rat, twelve marbles, part of a jews-harp, a piece of blue bottle-glass to look through, a spool cannon, a key that wouldn't unlock anything, a fragment of chalk, a glass stopper of a decanter, a tin soldier, a couple of tadpoles, six fire-crackers, a kitten with only one eye, a brass doorknob, a dog-collar -- but no dog -- the handle of a knife, four pieces of orange-peel, and a dilapidated old window sash out of that deal .

I couldn't really do a 2015 makeover of the Double Zero without also doing Amy Creavy's Mustang. I've left off some of the original's chrome parts because I think the all black color scheme looks better.

How time flies! I was going to start this post by saying that I recently posted a picture of an updated General Lee based on a stretched Dodge Challenger. It turns out I actually posted that in May 2014 - you can see it here. Then, completely by chance, I came across mock-ups of modern versions of the Double Zero and Cooter's Camaro at the weekend. You can see them here. Inspired by these pictures, I decided to do my own updated Double Zero based on a 2015 Mustang. I thought it looked better with less chrome than the original, although I did add a ring around the grille. I also toyed with additional fog lights in the grille (similar to the original), but eventually left them out.

After seeing Garrett's recent question about fan fic writing and reading the replies it struck me that my feelings about my fan art aren't much different. Just like the fan fic authors, I also feel the need to revisit old projects now and then with a view to improving them. Sometimes I spot the equivalent of a typo, other times there are whole sections that need to be "rewritten" and parts that need fleshing out with more detail. A few months ago my General Lee artwork got a makeover, and now it's time for the Double Zero.
To be honest, I always thought the color of my original was too bright. I also knew that the rear view needed some work. When I took a second look I was surprised at just how inaccurate my first version had turned out. In the end I replaced well over half of the elements and did some sort of modification (color/shape etc.) to most of the others. The "GT" badge on the front fender is one of only a few components of the original that survived untouched!
I've tried to make this one a more accurate representation of the one that appeared on-screen. The revised color and shape are obvious changes, but I've made some others too:
    Aerial added on front fender
    Passenger door mirror removed
    White lettering on tires removed
Chrome trim around wheel arches removed
    Rear bumper guards removed
Rear side marker replaced with correct, body-colored surround

Now that I've updated my 1968 Mustang artwork, I'm sure my next update won't be much of a surprise to y'all .

A while ago, Mark B asked me if I'd ever done a front and back view of Cooter's van from 'Uncle Boss'. At the time I hadn't, but now I have .

There are still very few reference photos available, so I just had to do my best from screengrabs. I've also tweaked the original side view to fix some minor details.

Lizzy, you might be thinking of a line from 'The Great Bank Robbery' (S04E06). Rosco pulls over the Duke Boys and finds the money from the bank robbery in the back of the General. As Rosco tries to arrest them, Bo kicks his gun out of his hand. Waylon's full quote is:

"Shoot. Y'all should have seen old Bo kick the football for Hazzard High. He was 10 for 12, and no shoes. If he'd have used his right foot, he'd have put Rosco's pistol back in the holster."

As they drive off, Luke says "Bless your pointed little foot. It wasn't even third and long yardage, you punted us right out of trouble."

It's over 2 years since Redneck girl 01 put up a crossword in the Hobbies section, so I thought I'd give it a try. I've tried not to duplicate too many answers with the previous crossword - obviously there will be some easy answers, but hopefully there are at least 1 or 2 to get you thinking.
If I've goofed up any clues or numbers please let me know - it's my first crossword, and it's now after midnight here so I'm not as wide awake as I should be when checking it.

HossC got a reaction from BCF124 in Map of Hazzard County
This map is from near the start of 'Double Dukes' in season 4. It was not as clear as the previous maps and also harder because so much of it was written on by hand, obscuring the original detail. Possibly some of you will recognise it straight away - I didn't.

I convinced myself that the town at the bottom, roughly midway between the two thick lines, was 'Paradise'. The highway number between 'NTY' and 'TEVILLE' is a single digit and likely to be odd as the highway is running north-south. Luckily I tried Highway 5 first which took me to just north of Sacramento.

So Colonial City is actually Redding, CA. Below is the long shot with the actual map next to it.

I thought there were some screengrabs from this episode somewhere on HNet, but I couldn't find them when I looked yesterday. The episode was called 'Give Me Liberty... or Give Me Death' (S01E15), and concerned an alternative fuel race with a large cash prize. The reasons for the Dukes/General Lee comparisons are obvious when you see one of the race cars:

An orange '69 Dodge Charger with Vector wheels does sound kinda familiar. Added to that, the car was driven by a couple of Southerners called Sonny and Lester Prince, who wore Confederate flags on their jackets. The car itself ran on moonshine (as did its drivers!). I love the way that the props department had to come up with a fake racing team name and ended up with "Racing Team".

Here's the complete line-up of all six entrants. It's amazing that all six looked and sounded like regular petrol engines when they were introduced. Maybe we're more used to some of these alternative fuels being real-life realities nowadays.

The orange car did differ from the General in one very noticeable way - the doors opened!

Well, today's Hungarian GP sure didn't turn out like that. A win for Ferrari, and Red Bull filling the other two podium places. Mercedes could only manage sixth and eighth in an incident-packed race.

Thanks for the tip-off, ale73. Here's Sorrell in the 1974 'Kung Fu' episode 'A Dream Within a Dream' where he played Sheriff Hodges. The mustache makes his character look similar to the one he played in 'Zero Intelligence' (above).

I wondered whether these steps were anywhere familiar.

As the camera pulled back, I realized that they were part of the courthouse that once stood at the north end of Laramie Street. It appeared in several episodes of Dukes, most commonly shot from the side where it was dressed as the coffin works.

Finally, here's Sorrell in the saloon on Laramie Street. It wouldn't be until about a decade later that he'd finally got to own the Golden Palace Saloon (second picture) as Thadius B. Hogg in 'Go West, Young Dukes'.

For those of y'all not familiar with Laramie Street, it's the old Western street that once stood on the eastern side of Warner Bros' backlot. It comes up several times on the Hazzard Square thread, with the main six posts on the subject starting here.

Seeing as this thread has been revived, I thought I'd refresh my original artwork. I was never happy with the shade of yellow I ended up with, and the wheels are wrong. This is only a light makeover - I've removed the black outlines, removed the chrome from the wheel arches, and added the chrome panel under the door. The bumpers and side markers have been completely re-done and I'm now happier with the wheels and body color. I might refresh the front and back views in the future.

There are a few General Grant pictures online, with various numbers on their doors. I've stuck with "76" like the car in the video posted by Roth.

Just finished my version of Daisy's 1971 Road Runner. Technically her car was originally a 1974 Road Runner, and the later car (as depicted here) was actually a Satellite painted with the '74's Road Runner stripes.
Like with the General Lee artwork, I've taken a bit of artistic license here. I've added Road Runner decals to the grille, trunk and stripes, and since I haven't found a clear screen grab of the actual wheels, I've fitted it with period Mopar wheels that it could have left the factory with. The white letter Goodyear Polyglas GT tires are also my addition.

Whilst working on my recent Fan Art project, Buildings of Hazzard, I realised how many changes take place to the stores and other buildings around Hazzard Square. I thought we could have some fun recording the changes.
Most of us know that after the Georgia episodes Hazzard Square relocated to the back lot at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. Below are 2 different views of the square as it is now. I have numbered the buildings for reference purposes. As you can see, the square hasn't changed that much, notable exceptions are: building 10 has been re-clad; buildings 16, 22, 23, 24 and 25 are totally different and have been rebuilt since Dukes.

    http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz19/HossC_2010/HazzardSquare2.jpg
The following buildings stay the same in virtually every episode:
    3. Bank of Hazzard (Boss's Bank)
    4. Barber Shop
    7. Drug Store, Ice Cream Parlor & Bus Stop
    11. Hazzard County US Post Office
    13. Hotel
    18. Hazzard County Gospel Church
    20. Boss Hogg's House
    22. Cooter's Garage (now rebuilt as a house)
    23. Rhuebottom's General Store (now rebuilt as a house)
    24. O'Connor Paint Supply (no longer there)
    32. Hazzard County Court House
    33. Hazzard Police Station
Others only change a few times, but are usually one of the following:
    8. Theater/Hazzard Theater/Hazzard Picture Palace
    9. Hazzard County Telephone Company/Hazzard County Telephone and Telegraph Co.
    10. Seth M. Berley & Co./Furniture Mart/Hazzard Emporium/J.D. Hogg Furniture Mart
    12. Joe's Hardware/Hazzard Hardware & Sporting Goods
I have many more to add, and screengrabs to illustrate the changes, but my list in nowhere near complete so please feel free to jump in and add any other businesses you spot. If a business only appears briefly (one or two episodes) please try to give the episode(s) you see it in (and a screengrab if you have that ability). If you are not sure where the business is, give as much information as you can and I'm sure, between us, we can identify it.
