  4. Texasdaisy was first, but everyone else was right too. Bo, the last of the big spenders, would give a whole nickel to find out. MaryAnne, sorry I didn't acknowledge your answer to the last question, but you posted while I was composing my reply so I didn't see your answer. Slightly outside the box this time: Q. In 'Strange Visitor to Hazzard', the bad guys plan to 'scare the overalls off those hicks...' by '... broadcasting emergency bulletins about invaders from another planet. Like that radio show years ago ... that started a riot.'. What famous incident are they referring to?.

  7. Thanks for your opinions there, Garrett. It seems odd that the announcement of the fine made big news, but details of the reason behind it trickled out slowly. From what I can see it was to do with the position of the car body relative to the frame exceeding tolerances. I'm sure everything is designed on computers nowadays, so they must have known if the car was illegal. I hate it when race results get changed due to slight technical infringements. It happens once in a while in F1. There's been a lot of scrutiny of Red Bull's front wing this season, with several other teams questioning the amount of flexibility. The FIA (governing body) have now introduced stricter testing, and Red Bull have changed their wing design, despite claiming it was legal all along. There was another case a few years ago when Honda got excluded for running their cars too light. The cars are weighed without fuel, but they argued that their cars had to keep a residual amount in the tank that should be included in calculations. I suppose this type of sport is now so technical, thousanths of a second make a difference, so everyone pushes the limits as far as they can. Inevitably, lines will get crossed occassionally. Much as I dislike it, I don't think this is the last time this sort of thing will happen.

  11. BL and Roger were spot on there. Thanks for the pic, MaryAnne. When the word 'ring' came up in the 'Word Association' thread last night, my first thought was 'donut', but Garrett posted 'telephone' before I saw it . Q. At the start of 'Mary Kaye's Baby', the boys are being pursued by Rosco and can't understand why. What does Bo say he'd give to find out?.

  18. Brian, if that was a guess, today's question is what are this week's lottery numbers . Sounds like an ideal candidate for YouTube - it could go viral. Daney - that is indeed the book. I had that link ready to post, and you beat me to it. Well done to everyone else who got it right. A nice easy one today: Q. In 'One Armed Bandits', how much is the cover charge at the Boars Nest, and why is it charged?.

  22. Sorry about the question placement, Lizzy. I'll try not to put them underneath photos again. BL and texasdaisy were right about the quote, and Lizzy and texasdaisy got the horn question right. Q. In 'Swamp Molly', name the book that Boss is learning his dance moves from. You bonus point for today is for naming the author.
