*Reaches under Game Warden's hat and scratches head.* Well, I'd volunteer, but if I did the counting I'd have to take off my shoes to tally. It's kind of chilly this weekend. However if you really want me to... I got this weekend to spare, my convention plans got canceled. Yes, Smokey the Bear had to cancel his appearance due to an Asthma attack. Anywhoo, I get the concept here ya'll but I still have questions.... 1) When do you start this little charade? Tonight? Tomorrow? Next week? 2) How would we tally this? Is it by response to the post or is it by number of posts? 3) Plus... what about by standards? Since those folks aren't involved couldn't they block your posts by posting to the first posts? 4) If someone is a referee can they post to one of the competitors posts? 5) Who killed Kenny? (Sorry got carried away)

Yes Brian... you summed that episode up good. Now I see the WB is moving supernatural from Tuesday to Thursday. Guess where the time slot is, uh huh... ya'll guessed it, right after Smallville. Funny how alot of us Duke fans are Smallville watchers and SN watchers as well... Hhhhhmm... I think I'm starting to get goose bumps here. Alright, what were the people at WB thinking now? Is this just another random event that just happened to be or is there something to this? True, Beauty and the Geek was at the end of it's season because of the contest being over and they needed a fill in, but why SN? Is WB actually spying on us...? Ok... as a 'fun' and friendly test of the almighty WB powers, I issue this 'challenge' to the people creating Supernatural and that might be spying on us. I will officially freak out if I see John Schneider appear on a Supernatural episode. If it happens, I will be convinced that we are being spied on. Plus, it would be nice to see John on the small screen again, now that he's not doing the Johnathan Kent thing anymore. Anywho... Alright... 'Almighty WB', show us what you're made of? I scoff at thee... *scoff, scoff, scoff*... (ok, I'm just getting carried away here now, but think about my proposal here, wouldn't it be interesting?) So wether this happens or not... It would be fun to test this hypothesis. Val

Alright... since it's only 10 random things in random order, this sounds fun. 1) I hate bannana flavored stuff but I like real bannanas. 2) I only eat smooth peanut butter. 3) I like soft music when I sleep. 4) My mom's birthday is in the same month as mine. 5) I hate pulling my hair back in a pony tail even though I do it all the time out of convience. 6) I have an inflatable pet dinosaur in my room. 7) I like listening to oldies (music from 50's to 60's) even though I wasn't born any where near that time frame. 8) Pineapple is my favorite fruit and I like it on pizza. 9) I broke three catcher's masks when I use to play softball and made softball a contact sport. 10) Chevy is the best auto-maker there is. Period.

I didn't get to see it all but I came home to see the end of it tonight. As a child born into "The Regan years" I found it to be very moving at points. The parts I seen were where they talked about his horse ranch in CA to the end of his life. He was a true American President. You could see it in the history of his terms in the white house. I don't know about anyone else around here but it's nice to see CMT's show line up is pretty entertaining and very family orientented. This program 'True Grit' about Ronald Regan is just an example. Plus the fact that they picked up Dukes of Hazzard is just examples of how CMT seems very family as well as western orientented.

Ok... I've been sort of following this show as well. It's got two hot guys, plots that sell suspense and a kicking classic car, (not to metion it's a chevy). What else could a gal ask for on a Tuesday night? The question I have as a fan fic writer here on Hnet is this. Who the heck is wire tapping mine and my friends computers?! I don't know if anyone else saw last night's episode but there was a character on there with Dean and Sam that could have been a compound of two fan fic created characters that run around Hnet! I'm not going to drop names or anything, but if you watched the show and saw the character you'd know what people I'm talking about! There was a moment where that character had hand cuffed Dean and I was like... 'Ok... this is too freaky!' Is it just me or are we being spied on? Is WB reading Hazzardnet and getting inspiration? Aaawww man... That stinks. I was hoping to see Jimmy back on TV again! *sigh* All my roommate said was that Rosco P. Coltrane was going to be the leader of the 'Others'. Darn! I wanted it to be Jimmy. Oh well... Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. Val

I just heard from someone that a character from DOH is supposed to be the leader of the 'Others' on LOST. I've only watched the show a couple of times like when it started and now due to personal reasons basically got 'lost' myself on what's going on. I did enjoy it when I did watch it but now it's kind of gone to the wayside, anyhow that's not the point. The point is I heard a 'rumor' that the leader of the 'Others' on LOST would be one of the characters from DOH and if I am correct it's our beloved Sheriff. I'm going to tape the episode tonight and check it out. (Granted I'll probably get 'lost' on the plot line because I haven't watched it in so long.) If it is... I'll let ya'll know. Val

Today, I woke up to an endless pouring of snowflakes. The silence of the morning was broken by my phone ringing off the hook and my employer saying I didn't have to come in to work tommorrow because everything was done for break. My roommate was too lazy to get out of bed and join me for breakfast. So I foraged through the snow and ice to get her a brown sugar poptart and apple juice. It's ok, she's an awesome roommate and I had french toast sticks, hashbrowns, sausage and bacon with apple juice. So it definately was worth the trip. The last final was taken at 1:15pm EST. I don't want to be asked another question on DNAase or RNAase or some other mumbo jumbo on how E. coli makes a pilus! And just think, next semester is Botanty! Ooooo! Exciting! See ya'll on Jan 9th. Have a Happy Holiday! Val

This commercial is my absolute favorite Holiday commercial! I always love the Coca Cola Bear commercials, but the best one which is on this year, is with the polar bear family over looking a ledge at a big party of penguins below. There is Beach Boys, Little Saint Nick playing and the penguins are all dancing and singing and having fun. The baby polar bear slides down the hill and the party stops and they all look at him. Then this baby penquin walks out of the crowd with a bottle of coke and gives it to the bear. The baby bear smiles and every body starts dancing again. Gives me that warm fuzzy feeling every time I see it. What's your favorite holiday commercial? Val

I haven't been to the CMT boards but if they delete posts that are just mildly expressive and low key deliberations, is rather insidious. Face the fact Brian, maybe the CMT moderaters just delete posts that are beyond there retention levels of comprehension. You're just beyond their levels of intellectual lyrical stimulation. I see no problems with causing some nefarious behavior with some sophisticated and urbane dialect as long as it's tastful. Keeps life quite fascinating. In other words: Face it baby, yer baffle'em with yer BS. Guess that word-of-the-day toilet paper does come in handy!

Alright... I've followed this thread for sometime now, and I think I'm going to take the challenge but I'm uping the ante... As an Enos writer, I take this challenge and dare anyone else to as well... The Challenge is, to write a fic about Enos getting drunk. Well, that's the main premise but let's raise the stakes shall we? Here's the rules ladies and gents... 1) Has to have Enos Strate getting drunk. 2) He can be any age, doesn't matter. 3) Finished St. Patrick's Day this coming year 2006, to celebrate the wearing of the green and drunkin' of yee beer. 4) Length must be at least 15 pages. 5) When story is completed, hand it over to the Hnet staff for posting on their fan fic section here on Hnet. Good Luck... ~ Hazzard County Game Warden ~ Valerie M. Strate

You might be a dukes fan if your cell phone ringer plays Walyon Jennings "Just a good Ole Boys"... and it goes off in a lecture room and everyone looks at you.

(note this is a joint post between Min, Doc, and me... enjoy and let's get this wagon train a movin'!!!) Enos looked to the west and seen the sun creeping toward the west. He knew that twilight was only about two hours away. If anything was going to happen tonight it'd take place after night fall. As he approached the Saloon with his sister riding by his side he pointed this fact out to her as she dismounted, "Val, we only have about two hours to raise about a posses of ten to twelve." She nodded and watched him dismount before they both walked inside. "Then we best get a move on then..." The well dressed lady pushed open the swinging doors ahead of her brother to enter the pallor. Min had watched Brian leave, and although he had promised to return to once again see her on a more professional capacity, she couldn’t help but sigh. “I hope he’s okay.†She said over her shoulder to her partner, then turned around to face her fully. “I know he’s anxious about finding his cousin, but that Chet Duke is dangerous. I hate to think of MaryAnne out there on her own with him.†She walked back behind the bar, though she usually stuck to less toxic drinks like champagne, she got a shot glass and helped herself to the house whiskey. After pouring the shot glass full, Min picked it up and downed it in one gulp. Though the liquor burned her throat as she swallowed it down, she only showed the tiniest of winces, then turned to see the stunned face of her partner. Chance couldn't help but wince, the stuff Min had thrown back was close to gaslight kerosene. Plus drinking like that wouldn't be the best way to pass the hours, esp. if trouble was brewing. Both of them had to be alert and aware. So the blonde gambler made a suggestion. "How about a game of card while we wait, Min? To gambling, no counting...just something to do while we wait?" “I’m not so sure my mind is up for poker Chance.†The worry clear on Min’s face, she poured herself another drink and began to raise it to her lips. She caught the worried gaze of her long time friend and quickly lowered it back to the bar. “You’re right…drinking this rot gut won’t help anything.†Pushing the drink to one side, Min came out from behind the bar and joined her friend at the nearest wooden table. “So, is this for fun or for money?†Chance attempted a small tease, trying to lighten the mood. "Is there a difference?" Her own deck has been abused and missing several cards now, Chance found another from a nearby cabinet and cut in. Even with her wounded hand, the movements of her hands were quick and efficient. “Of course, if this is for fun we won’t need money.†Min got herself comfortable on the stiff back wooden chair and reached into the top of her dress and pulled out a few dollars. She watched as Chance shuffled and gazed out over the top of the swinging doors. For now things had grown quiet with Brian’s departure, but deep down she knew they might not stay that way. Min turned back and watched as Chance dealt the first hand, then picked up her cards and looked at them. Fortunately, cards with two agile players made the time hours quickly and Chance tried to keep up a light conversation to distract her. Min wasn't only her business partner, but also her friend. And when Chance wasn't counting cards, the odds equaled out between the two women. A few hours had passed before Chance got the feeling someone had entered the saloon behind her. Valerie glanced across the bar room to find the two women she met in here before idly playing cards. They both looked like capable women but whether they could be trusted was another issue. She glanced over her shoulder to Enos and nodded to the table whispering, "What do you think?" Enos frowned slightly but remembered the lady gambler's skill with her whip, "It's worth a shot..." Not liking Enos's choice of words at the moment but wondering how to approach the pair, "You want to do the recruiting or I?" "You… You're more persuasive and the gambler over there gives me the willies…" Enos answered in a hushed reply. Val chuckled then put a friendly smile on her face and approached the table, "Um… excuse me ladies but the Sheriff is calling for all able bodied marksmen to form a posse. I was wondering if you both can shoot and would be interested?" Min set her cards face down and looked at the pair of Strates. The siblings were trying not to look worried, but the concern etched into their features was impossible to ignore. “Val …Enos…what’s going on?†She asked as she met each pair of light eyes. Chance kept quiet, although she shared Min's concern, but the fact that she was looking at the woman she so recently picked jewelry off of made her a little nervous, although she was careful not to show it. Thank god for a good poker face. "Sorry, to worry ya Min." Enos answered removing his boulder hat and stepping forward toward the table, "But MaryAnne and Chet were chased down by some rubes. Chet distracted'em by throwing a stick of dynamite at'em so they ran off. We met up with MaryAnne, Chet and the Sheriff after escortin' Mr. Jackson out of town." “Rubes?†Min got up from her chair. “What rubes?†Her gaze then bounced between both Strate siblings. “And they were after MaryAnne and Chet?†Chance gave those rubes about ten seconds to live after Brian caught up with them. "I'll help any way I can." Enos swallowed a little startled by Min's reaction. "Y-yes'em... Once the dynamite cleared they ran off supposedly. MaryAnne said it was some fella by the name of Black Jack Dakota. We all came back into town after they took off. Sheriff and MaryAnne think those rubes will be back again to get revenge on MaryAnne." “For his brother, Domino.†Min touched her hand to her mouth briefly; she had been working in the Boars Nest the day Domino had been shot. A hint of fear crossed Min’s face and she shook her head slowly. “Black Jack will burn this town to the ground to get even.†"Sounds like this Black Jack like a tough character..." Chance pushed her chair back, stood and adjusted her leather hat. "But he hasn't met this bunch of Hazzard females yet." Valerie shared Min's worry but then glanced to Chance. The confidence which the gambler radiated was rather reassuring. A smile tugged at Val's lips and she asked the gambler," So I take it we can count on your gun for the posse?" "Gun and whip." "I've had the pleasure..." Min turned and walked away from the table, she crossed her arms over her chest and rubbed her upper arms. She got a sudden chill at the idea of Black Jack returning, a cold shudder that ran straight through to her bones. She heard the exchange between Val and Chance and nodded. “You've got me too, but I'd like to go upstairs for a moment then we'll go with you to the Sheriffs." The twins exchanged looks and Val couldn't help but smile to her brother, "See we got seven already... We'll have twelve by nightfall maybe more..." Enos just nodded then watched Min go up the steps, "Yep... that's not what worries me tho'..." "Relax... Black Jack ain't going to take us layin' down. We'll be ready for'em." Val answered then glanced to the gambler. Chance nodded, smiling grimly. "More than ready. We'll show them that these country cats have claws." Up in her room, Min went over to her bed and leaned over it. She ran her hands along the mattress and pulled a long rifle out from beneath it and another holster made of tan leather. Raising one long leg on the edge of the wooden bed frame, she pulled up her tan skirt and pulled a small pistol from her garter belt, checked to see it was loaded and returned it to its hiding place. Min then lowered her leg and wrapped the holster with two guns around her waist and checked those for bullets as well. Finally she picked up the long rifle and held it firmly. Her hands trembled slightly but she closed her eyes a moment trying to stay calm. The last time she had met up with Black Jack had been frightening and the idea he was coming to town downright terrified her. Trying to keep her mind off of that, she checked to make sure the rifle had bullets, opened her nightstand and took a box of cartridges from it, then went downstairs to join the others. If Black Jack and his friends were heading to Hazzard, they were in for a fight… Chance was left with the lady. She had her rifle and one other gun ready, plus her whip. Hopefully she wouldn't need to get close enough to any member of the gang to use it. But to protect her friends and her life, she would use it. Although being alone with one her pickpocketing victims made her distinctly uncomfortable, hopefully the other woman wouldn't connect her to the stolen earrings. The door at the top of the stairs opened and Min came out, her rifle slung over her shoulder. The holster she wore creaked as she headed down the steps; she tried to put on a brave face though her stomach felt knotted. She joined the Strates and Chance, then gave them a nod. “Well I guess I’m ready.†Enos glanced at the women who seemed rather confident about the raid that was going to go down. However like Min, he too held fears of his own. He knew the gambler was probably confident from probable years of practice at this sort of mischief. As he glanced at his sister, he knew she was capable of making clean and accurate marks but it was out hunting or for entertaining a crowd. He knew she wasn't use to firefights, like he had seen as a deputy. For him, even those circumstances were hard for him to stomach sometimes. The group gathered in the pallor then headed outside. They were running low on time and he wanted to be certain they were all ready. (Cue Black Jack, or anyone!!)

DUDE! Llamas rule! That was great MM! I never noticed it before but WOW! Makes me want to run out and hug a llama. Save the llamas people! Woohoo! Val That definately made my day. Better than a cup of java!

I say Enos... Come on... He's a sweetie and he'd never do his woman wrong. Who says nice guys finish last. Then after that it'd be a tie between one of the duke boys. Rosco and Cooter would probably just make for fun dates.

Hey Everyone! Today is a special day. It's a holiday here in Hazzard county. Yes, yes... You're all are like holiday? Since when? Well, when is not important and I don't know when it started, why isn't exactly important either.... It's just a Nameless holiday. The Hazzard bank is closed. My office is closed. The Nest is serving free beer tonight and tonight only. To celebrate this Nameless Hazzard Holiday, you wear something black. Then tonight at the stroke of midnight you howl at the moon and fall down on your knees and say... "Whaaaa ta fooooo iam!" Then dance around in circles for five seconds. Crazy? Yes, we know... but if you do this you'll have all the luck of the folks of Hazzard (Like you really want Hazzard luck, *chuckles*) Just remember.... It's Nameless Hazzard Holiday and you're suppose to be happy and crazy today. Happy Nameless Hazzard Holiday! Val Strate - County Game Warden Oh! PS, make sure you have all your rabbies vacinations!!!

Take life at your own pace. Don't worry about your friends and their relationships and ect... Trust me... I'm in that 1/2 way to fifty club this year too, so is my college roommate, and trust me... it's not a great feeling being a college senior for two years in a row. Now, I've been through the... "Ahhh... I don't have anybody or anything blues." Believe me, a pint of Moosetracks ice cream and some movie like "Hope Floats" or even old Dukes eps... cure that feeling. *chuckles* Listen, you're in Hazzard and in Hazzard yer only as old as you feel. So like Brian said about age not mattering... It doesn't. So crack out the Coors Light or the Budwisers, or if you like the Mike's Lemonade, ah the drink don't matter. Just have yourself a good time and leave the worries and the years behind. Happy B-lated Birthday. Val Note: Some of the coolest folks are born in October. *chuckles*

Ok... I just watched the trailer and I'm officially scared! Note I did watch Supper Toopers, I thought it was funny but it wasn't what I would want for Dukes of Hazzard. There are other movie companies that can put on good car stunts and do a better job for Dukes of Hazzard. Who did Gone in 60 seconds with Nick Cage? I mean... there has to be people out there who could have done a better job. The only thing that made me feel like it was close to the orginal was the intro with the car stunts. The rest did nothing for me. I didn't even feel like it was Dukes of Hazzard. Bo and Luke as Japanese doctors! COME ON! Even Bo and Luke were smarter than that! Daisy was on the edge at times but not down right scandless! Enos would tell Daisy anything at the drop of the words 'Howdy Enos'. I will go to the movie because I have a free ticket. I will not buy popcorn, or soda or any kind of merchandise that would otherwise benefit the producers, actors or ect. of that flim. I will continue to buy Dukes of Hazzard items but nothing that has to do with that movie. Val Strate's author....

All riders and horses met at the edge of the creek. Brother and sister met up with the rustler and deputy. Enos nodded to MaryAnne and smiled, "Ain't it past the two mile line MaryAnne... He should be on his way now. Oh... by chance did ya see Mr. Alex Jackson fly by here? He had to been bookin' if he ain't here no more?" Val noticed how her brother left out about the explosion and she quickly chimmed in, "Yeah, who caused that explosion we heard?" She then glared over Chet's way but then focused her attention back to MaryAnne. Enos frowned at his sister's notions. He knew you didn't accuse until you were certain. Both twins wanted to know what went on that was edivent. (cue whoever. Note; I have until 5/05 to post anything to this RR. After that I can post but it maybe a while before you would hear from me. So I wouldn't suggest cueing me. However if I am needed, I will give character control to MA. She's known me for years now and can handle my role in a pinch. Thanks all for understanding. See you all on a regular basis in 3 months. Val and her author)

Time was up as far as Val was concerned. She looked to her brother who seemed to be thinking the same thing as he glanced a second time at his pocket watch. "It's got to be over a half hour now. I mean we're giving him plenty of time." Val complained to her sib. Enos nodded, "Yeah... it's over a half hour now. Let's git. We'll go through the woods here and toward where ever the blast was then circle back and head home? How that sound?" Val spured the bay mare gently with a gentle squeeze and click of her tongue, "Come on!" Whisper lifted her head from nibbling on a tuff of grass lifted her head and pointed her ears forward. The horse knew it must be time to leave. She gave a gentle sound in response. Val looked to Enos who else spurred Justice forward, "There is a clearing beyond these woods isn't there?" "Yep, and I think that's where that blast came from." As the pair started into the dense pines Val chuckled and looked to her brother, "You know if we were smart we'd turn back and go home. Let those two outlaws at one another." Enos shook his head, "MaryAnne wanted me to make sure Alex didn't meet back up with Chet. That's exactly why I am doing this." "Only after two miles out... You did that." "That blast... it's not right Val." "But a half hour has passed. Anything that was out there has to be gone by now." "You don't know that" "Argh! Enos! Did you get any brains up there while I was gone?" "Nope." Enos answered pretty much ignoring his sister's rant. He wanted to find out what happened. If someone was in trouble it was his job and duty to help them. He just led the dapple gray through the pines and out toward the light of the open plains on the other side. It'd be soon. Until then he kept quiet allowing Val to rattle on about whatever she wanted to rattle on about. Soon the light of the open fields shined down upon them, he squinted and put his hand up to help cut the light as he looked out across the plains with his sister soon emerging from the forest and at his side. "What do you see?" She asked coming up by him. "Pretty much nothing except over there." He pointed to where a black plume cloud of smoke seemed to be smodlering and curling high into the sky. There wasn't any fire anymore and the area looked charred in the distance. Val blinked. The distance from where they were standing and where the smoke was a good distance away. For Alex to make it there then be gone, his horse had to be flying, "That boy had to be bookin' if he made it out of here in a half hour." "Yep." Enos however spotted some siloutes far out among the plains. It was two riders, quickly he spurred Justice, "Come on." "What?! Enos!" Val now spotted the riders too, "What if they're hostiles!" "Keep your gun close." Enos answered he didn't believe the two riders to be hostiles. They way they were moving along. No, but just in case he wanted that trick shot sister of his to be ready. The way the pair was traveling it seemed like they were more in distress than hostile, which meant he needed to help them, "I think they need help." Val sighed as they rode toward the pair of riders. (cue whoever)

Don't quote me on this but I think someone told me it was a Chevelle. Not certian but I think that's what it was that he was putting together.

Mr. LeDoux, You will be missed. I truly loved your music and respect the way you chose to live your life. I'll never forget the first time I heard a Chris LeDoux song. His music is a unquie sound that can't be duplicated. He was a very talented person and to have him leave the earthly world today, saddness me greatly. I know there is a five dollar fine for whinning, but today I will gladly pay it. May you rest in peace Mr. LeDoux. Val Strate and her author
