  1. *smacks forehead after hearing Brian's speach.* We're suppose to save Alex by convincin' MaryAnne he's worth saving. Not tell MaryAnne what a great killer he is! Geez! Man, what is it with 'bad guys'? I guess I love bad guys in spite of their wicked ways which as a Strate I'll never understand... *Waylon plays in the background* Val
  2. Alex, ya been a very good friend for many years. I can't stand back and let ya go to the gallows. So I must speak my peace. So you are very welcome. *Smiles sheepishly* However, if MaryAnne gives ya a dog collar Alex, come over to the wildlife office and model it for me. I'd love to see it. Val
  3. Oh Pleeeeezzz! Ya call that a defensive plea! That's more like a whimper. *Steps forward and takes the stand* Yes, I know Mr. Alexander Jackson. This man is worth saving. He has saved many members of Hazzard County from destruction and self destrustion on numerous occasions, one of which being yours truly. Also on the 'saving from self destruction list' is a certain black clad Coltrane that we all love and care for, which is a cousin of yours MaryAnne lets not forget. My personal rescue has came in the form of physical from almost falling off of a cliff, to emotional where Alex has saved me from insanity and gave me strength in order to say goodbye to a life that was killing me inside. He is a citizen that is beloved by all of Hazzard despite any outward appearance. So to have him taken to the gallows it's self is a crime. How dare anyone think it. So what if he has been a flirt. The only crime in that is the crime of passion that he has for everyone in Hazzard. Not to mention, I'd sure miss braiding that blond hair. Val Hazzard County Game Warden
  4. It probably wouldn't upset her. She'd probably like it! Of course ya never know with Doc. *chuckles* I'm only teasin' Doc, ya know that. Who else would I have around here to play fetch with?
  5. Doc's back? Where did she go to? What's up with the obession to bite people? Me, I always like my tummy rubbed and a good scratch behind the ears. Mama always sezz, ya catch more flies with honey than ya do with... well ya know the rest. Maybe Doc needs a muzzle. *Looks around in Game Warden supplies for muzzle*
  6. OMG YES! Of course Enos/Sonny is cute! Why on earth would anyone doubt that! Just go and stand in Sonny's line for an autograph and talk to him for five minutes. I guarentee you will become an automatic Strate fanatic for life! He still looks good for his age and when he was younger he was hot. Enos was the type of guy that you could bring home to mama and be proud of! Now what is more sexy than love and commitment? So the answer is YES to your question.
  7. Sorry I'm like waaaay behind here, but you could say I've been stuck in the pound myself lately and finally got busted out. When is the dog collar challenge due exactly? Val
  8. Yes 07' Dukesfest went way smoother than 06'. My commrad and I left for Dukesfest Friday morning and arrived in Nashville at about 6:30pm. The hotel was really nice and the road trip down was a blast as well. We still get a kick out of pointing out funny road signs as we make our way down to TN. Saturday I got my first General Lee ride and folks if you have never rode in the General, you have to make a promise to yourself that it's one accomplishment you have to do before you die because it was sooooo worth it! So yes, one of my lifetime dreams can be checked off my list. I also got to meet John Schnieder, which yes girls, he's so worth the wait! He signed my copy of Eddie Macon's Run for me and I was speechless for about five minutes before and after I met him in person. Then after that we camped out on the grandstands and listened to two awesome country bands, 'Cornbread' and 'Lucky Bugs'. Both lead singers were muy guapo, (that's spanish for very cute)! Then also had the 'Clinch Mountain Boys' a bluegrass band that played last year back to preform again. I always love hearing those guys play, especially listening to that BANJO!!! So yes, I had banjos in my head again. Sunday we seen Sonny Shroyer. He waved to me while I was waiting in line on Saturday then on Sunday I got his autograph and a photo of me sitting on his lap, what a charmer! *sigh* Then after the cowboy church, more music and an awesome stunt show; me and my amigas went to Opry Mills to have a nice supper and nose around the mall. We found a really big pillow which we were calling the Rocheter (I think I spelled that wrong) pillow. It was like look at this pillow and tell me what you see. Trust me, that was very entertaining as well. Then Sunday night our group split up and went our seperate ways. I must say, that 07' Dukesfest was awesome, however we often found ourselves wanting to share some moments with everyone else on Hnet and wished more of us could have been there. Oh well, that's why we have pictures... Val
  9. Folks, I post this here in remembrance of the college students at VA Tech. Being in college myself, (if you haven't figured it out from my little posts in the swamp about getting out of Chemistry class and about DOH frat) it strikes a cord with me. No one expects to go to class then wind up losing a friend or losing their own life because of someone else's recklessness. It also sickens me to know that there are people that distraught with their lives about a 'break up' that they resort to this kind of behavior. It's uncalled for. If you are having problems with your life, talk to a friend, a family member, heck most colleges have counselors on campus to help you deal with all kinds of situations! Thirty-two people lost their lives. That's thirty-two sons and daughters that were trying to better the world by being at that institution to learn. Thirty-two bright lights of the world suddenly were snuffed out by someone's bottled rage. It's sad that in my generation, having being in high school when Columbine took place then in college when this happens. In fact in the past there have been security issues on my campus that might have caused alarm but due to administrations quick thinking, issues were stopped and people were kept safe. But it makes you wonder what kind of a world do we live in when schools are now no longer safe. Places of social growth, knowledge, and high learning are no longer places of peace and freedom of expression in a safe environment. Whatever happened to the days that when you were ticked off at your ex for leaving you that you went out to the football field got creative and sprayed Round Up on the field in big letters that had their cell phone number and the words scribed in dead grass, "Call for a good time". I mean if you want and have to be destructive and a jerk about things, there are so many other ways to do it that don't physically harm another soul. Instead, people today when they get ticked off at someone else they go shooting people. It's very sad and very hurtful knowing this is the kind of world we live in. However to leave this on a more positive note, please pray for those families and friends at VA Tech who lost loved ones. They will need love and support in the times to come. Even if you don't know them, pray for them. For those that are spiritual, you know that your prayers will make a difference even though those families may never know you. Val Strate
  10. That's a cool find! I love the Hee Haw peice! You're right MA, you got to love that classic Enos smile there at the end. Very nice... Great find Lost sheep. I see the other clips on there too of some things Sonny has done. It's kind of neat to watch these little clips and compare his motions and actions when he acts. Val
  11. Well the point of ethanol is to make what fossil fuel sources we have go further. The thing with corn is, this country produces way more corn than what it needs to feed people and livestock. Believe it or not, most of the corn that is produced in this country goes to feed animals, not humans. On top of that in theory the world can produce enough food that no one should have to ever go hungry. Then why do people go hungry? It's a problem of getting food to people, not a problem of do we have enough. As far as selling the pig feed to buy pigs, it's not that way because the corn produced every year exceeds our country's needs. Years ago, I don't know if it's still true today, the government would buy corn from farmers so that the markets wouldn't bottom out. They would then end up with a surplus of grain that was going unused and would eventually have to dispose of it. Tell me now, if we're making all this unused product, why not put it toward good use like ethanol? Corn is grown in every one of the fifty states, this is a fact I know of from my years in FFA. It's probably the number one grown crop in the US. We have a ton of the stuff; why not use it for fuel? That's one reason why farmers are losing their farms is because there is all this supply and little demand, driving the price of corn lower and lower. How can anyone pay their bills if the price of the product they are selling keeps decreasing by ten cents a bushel all the time? So maybe ethanol is a good thing, a new demand for an old supply? However, if you're a livestock producer and you have to feed your animals you want the price of corn to be low so you can fatten that calf up very cheaply. If you have to pay more for corn, you're losing profit on your cattle unless you're looking at trying to ask a higher price for your animals. Plus if you're making ethanol you want the corn you buy to be a lower price so you can pass that onto your costumers. So I guess in a way Roger, maybe you are right on the spiral argument, however I don't think giving up on ethanol is the answer. I think ethanol is a good alternative to help us extend out what we got in order to find something better. Researchers are now looking at alternative energy and it's a field that is opening up more and more each year. In my opinion, research in alternative fuel sources should have had more funding years ago, but like ya say, they have us over a barrel, of oil that is.... Val
  12. Woohoo! Ten submissions! That's awesome! Guess the magic conch shell really does work! *lifts conch shell* Yipppeee! MaryAnne keeps her badge! Way to go Hazzard! It's great to hear that and it's awesome to hear that some new writers submitted stuff. Cool! New stuff to read is always awesome. I just want to thank all the Enos writers out there. I know I've been pulling you guys chains to get stuff in and I haven't seen the stories yet but from the sounds of things some of you guys came through. Way to go guys! Ooooo! A dog leash challenge! That could be fun! I like puppies! So cute and cuddly, can we get a puppy for Hnet? I think Flash needs a friend.
  13. Well Dukes of Hazzard is number one of course but the rest have no order, - CSI - Survivor - Simpsons - Cowboy U - Smallville - Supernatural - Fraiser - Friends - Ghostbusters - The Naked Trucker and T-Bone Show - Southpark That's probably the top ones, if I get to watch them. Right now I don't really watch anything than an occasional Duke's ep and Supernatural and Smallville. Don't have time.
  14. I kind of agree with Enos fan here. Anime just wouldn't work for a DOH comic book. I personally don't mind anime but not for Dukes. It just doesn't work in my mind. The reason I suggest Marvel is because their drawing work is detailed enough that you can get that angusty feel from the pictures as well as the story line. Granted, I do agree with you guys that Marvel is a bit too busy for a DOH comic book but it would be cool if whoever was the artist gave the work a soft tone but able to pull out that detail and angust filled poses and dramatic jumps that the General can make. Whoever the artist is, should be able to drawn cars and draw them well because cool drawnings of the General Lee in action, angust filled moments, and detailed fight sences with the boys will sell a Dukes of Hazzard comic. I would love to see drawing profiles of Bo or Luke when they are about to get into a bar room brawl at the Nest. Infact seeing some of the fan fiction produced around here would be cool if it was made into comics. That's just my view points on this, but a comic book would be awesome. Val
  15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARYANNE!!! From the wildlife office to the booking room, may you have very little paper work to do! Have a chocolate milk or rootbeer float on me! Val
  16. Alright, I got my submission in and it's sent. Kudos to you Enos fan for the help, hopefully we'll have enough submissions in. Val
  17. Sorry for the dramatic license Brian but it's sometimes essential for motivation. Yes you're a cream puff, but I don't want to see Hazzardnet go to all cream and no puff. I might be able to live with casual Fridays around the place but everyday... no. Besides as a Strate and Game Warden, I couldn't live with myself knowing I didn't support my fellow officer. Its part of my character Brian, I took an oath to be a law enforcer when I came here. So to go against my fellow lawwoman and my friend is treason for me. So forgive me for the exaggeration of the character of your rein IF you are promoted, but it's a handy motivator to get people to rally to my cause. It's nothing personal... It's just business... By the way, speaking of business... How is that Barbie/Dukes crossover coming? Did you buy yourself any visual aids to help you with the writing process or you waiting for the Fairytopia DVD to show up in your Easter basket? Val
  18. Yes, ok... Not as many fell for it as I wanted but yes... It's Baloney. April Fools! No I haven't given up. I'm still working away at a fic to save MaryAnne. I need help though. I mean come on guys! Me alone isn't going to save MaryAnne's badge! I know there is a whole troop of ya out there that can write and will in order to save law and order of Hazzard! *Gets out blue and white paint and paints face, then steps up onto of the soapbox and blows the magic conch one more time.* They may take our lives but they can never take our FREEDOM! A fight for justice is a fight for freedom! Val
  19. Nope, we're doomed. All doomed to a hopeless rein by the black clad Coltrane. Dooooooooomed! I give up. I surrender... I give up my magic conch shell of rally-dome and hand over my soapbox. Stick a fork in me I'm done... Through... Over... All hail Brian Coltrane! King of Hazzard County! May he rein supreme! The Game Warden has lost all hope in the system. Justice is a futile cause. Face it... This is like Global warming... It's doomed to happen. If we surrender to him now, maybe he'll be easier on the punishment he gives us later after we fail. DOOOOOOOOOMMMED! Val
  20. *Yawns and looks at the calendar* Only nine more days now, left in this challenge.... Mmm, since nobody seems to care anymore I just guess I won't care either. Yep, the Ol' Game Warden is fed up. She's calling it quits. I'm going to just surrender myself to the evitable and go sit on the couch all day, drinking chocolate milk and eating snack cakes. Yep... It's just too hard to write. Oh whoe is thee... I guess MaryAnne is on her own. No Enos fans are coming to your rescue MaryAnne. It's over, we lost. We should put down our torches and become mindless zombies of 'Youtube'. 'Chaaaarlie, Chaaarlie! We're going to Candy Mountain Charlie! Won't you join us?' Yep, going to sit around and watch Charlie the Unicorn on youtube till our eyes bug out. Who needs Dukes. *Brrrrup!* Oh excuse me, too much chocolate milk I guess. Val
  21. Yeah, Sonny has a blue-green hazel eye color. This is possible. Hazel can come in many ranges and shades. I know as well because, ahem... authorly speaking we have an odd mix of blue gray hazel eye color. One day they look deep dark grayish blue another they will look green or sometimes brown. Hazel is a color range and can change on enviroment, mood or what the person is wearing. The predominant form of hazel is green to brown but like I said it's a range and people with hazel eyes can tell you that one day they have green eyes, then next brown then maybe variations of blue or gray. It's hard to say. But yes, I believe Sonny's eyes are hazel.
  22. *sighs* Ya know... This is an unfair argument and I demand a recount! Oh wait, this ain't Florida. As a loyal Strate supporter, my vote is Enos. However, Rosco supposedly at one time was the greatest lawman in all of Georgia, before he went crooked. So you kind of have to say Rosco. To me this is like the chicken and the egg argument. Either way you end up with no ducks... In a way... Rosco had to come first and basically taught Enos how to be a lawman, and a side note of trivia for all you duke fans, Sonny was a student of James Best's at one time. So, with that being said, any Strate fan has to take off their officer's hat and bow down to Rosco, because without Rosco, there would be no Enos.... So Rosco wins...
  23. Oh man... Was it just me, or did ya feel like you were watching 'Old Yeller' at the end of the episode. Warning it is a tear jerker and will make you choke up at the end. No we weren't bawling like a baby but it was so sad to watch Sam come to realization that sometimes his 'job' of hunting demons is going to run him down a difficult road. We already have seen this kind of dilemma with Dean but now Sam is faced with the challenge of 'wasting' something that he has grown to have affection, or 'love' as you would call it for. I'm not going to tell you how this ends and ruin it for you, but I tell you to make sure you have a box of tissues with you. On another side note, the steamy love scenes were pretty well done for a show that probably carries an 'R' to 'PG-13' rating, depending on the episode. Boy does Jared (Sam) have arms... Mmmmm... *shakes head slightly at the mental image* Ahem... any who... It was a good episode in my mind. Val
  24. Personally, I love the way marvel and DC comics are drawn. Really, if Warner Brothers wanted to cash out more on DOH, they should come up with a comic book of DOH. The nice thing about comics are they are often timeless. What I mean by timeless is that they can be written forever and the characters don't have to age like actors do, you can do all kinds of plots and you can keep going as long as you have ideas, and they are probably cheaper to make than TV or movies. I'm not saying I think DOH should be replaced by comics but it's a way DOH can live on and we still can remember Bo and Luke as we always remembered them. I wonder if Jimmy ever did any comic work with it? He is an artist. Just something I thought about off handedly... Val
