Ok ya'll! Let's see how smart ya'll are! See if ya can make it all the way through on the first time. Heck getting all the way through period would be a feat! I haven't even made it all the way through! This quiz is supposely the toughest quiz there is. Hence it's called 'The Impossible Quiz'. Good Luck and have fun. Ice is more of a problem here than snow. There hasn't been too much accumulation here due to the up and down temperature change. It gets cold, then it gets warm enough to thaw, and there is water everywhere. Then it freezes again and becomes ice and black ice. Flooding has been the biggest issue this winter where I'm located. Some of the local schools have had to close down not because of bad winter weather but flooding. This year has seen a ton of precipitation compared to others. Plus when there are huge pressure changes going from a high to a low so extreme like that the pressure gradients build up and you get high winds, which we have. Forty to sixty mile per hour winds, enough to be a pain but not enough for tornados. Which all this being said, if you have sinus problems like I do, now is not a fun time. Welcome to 'global climate change'.

He's a model for environmentalism and Game Wardens everywhere! Oh! Now I have to gather all my copies of his books and get them signed! Oh this is too much... Al Gore's gonna visit little ol' Hazzard! I think I'm gonna faint! *thud*

Oh my lord! Did anyone else catch Nip/Tuck?! Wow... All I have to say is... wow. John did a great job with his character, in my opinion. He sold that part, especially when he was talking 'shop'. If anyone watched Nip/Tuck they know what I'm talking about. Granted it's not exactly a family friendly show or even John's character is not exactly 'family friendly'. However, if you look at this in a positive light, it might boost his ever growing resume and show the public, he's a serious actor and he can play much larger roles and Hollywood can stop type casting him. In my opinion, yes he's already proven himself, many times over. However it makes you wonder sometimes what goes through producers heads.

Tom is the better actor hands down. However when John started he was only 18 and very very green, but you could tell he caught up to Tom and played off of Tom very very well. There was chemistry there and that's what made the show. John became a good actor because of Dukes of Hazzard. It was practice for him. The others all had some sort of experience before this. John was just flying by the seat of his pants, literally. Today if you were to compare the two it's like taking oranges and apples, two totally separate worlds. Tom is Broadway and more of a classical actor, where John is more of the Hollywood style. Neither is 'better' than the other and to tell you the truth, Dukes of Hazzard is not Dukes of Hazzard without both cousins. Bo has strengths and weaknesses that are opposite of Luke and vice versa. The reason the show is good is because the two lead male roles play off of one another and give the show drama. The best episodes were when those two were in some sort of trouble where one would have to rescue the other or when they were pitted against one another. The eps. that were the blandest were where they had both of the boys acting as one unit and there were a fair share of those. Seriously, I loved the plot twists when they did have plot twists, like Luke finding his little brother Jude, or where Bo was hypnotized to think he was Boss's son, or in Carnival of Thrills where they do fight one another. One cousin is not the same without the other... They are very much their own characters as well as a team that is what makes Bo and Luke special and why it’s almost impossible to truly choose one over the other.

Hazzard County Wild Turkey Shoot - November 18 2007
Val Strate replied to MaryAnne's topic in Hazzard Swamp
There you have it. Brian has accepted the challenge and so has Alex. They both are officially your turkeys. Let the hunt begin! -
*Stands out on the courthouse steps to the assembled crowd with clip board in hand* Ladies and Gentlemen, may I welcome you all to our 3rd annual Hazzard County Thanksgiving Wild Turkey Shoot. The basic idea of this Turkey shoot is a 'turkey' has been selected to go out in Hazzard Woods and the 'hunters' armed with paintball guns will try to track down the 'turkey' and pelt him with paint balls. Whoever out of the hunters completes this mission will win the game and be declared the Turkey Shooting Champ for 2007. However the Turkey can win, but outlasting everyone till Thanksgiving. In order to be fair, the Turkey must make an appearance at least once in the entire stretch of the contest. As of right now, your turkey has been nominated and voted on as Brian Coltrane. However he has not made an acceptance of this vote and nomination so I can not officially declare him the turkey. A proxy turkey will be provided 'if' Mr. Coltrane does not accept the nomination. The turkey will be armed with an arsenal of his own choosing, that is comprised of anything from paint bombs to delectable Thanksgiving deserts with booby traps in the woods. Be aware for the turkey does fight back! Hunting will end on Thanksgiving midnight, MST. So go to your positions and we'll see if the 'turkey' appears for Thanksgiving. From this point on you are dismissed to find your positions in Hazzard woods and start hunting.

Hazzard County Wild Turkey Shoot - November 18 2007
Val Strate replied to MaryAnne's topic in Hazzard Swamp
If Alex wants to be a Turkey too, I'm not going to stop him. But he needs to declare that right off the bat before he posts. Actually it might be fun watching Brian and Alex tag team up on everyone else. You guys have a valid point. It's up to Alex. As far as anyone else, you can all be hunters. Mind you, just because you're hunting the turkeys with paintball guns, doesn't mean the Turkeys can't defend themselves. This is Hazzard remember, we do things different around here. So be aware. Ok, I'm going to go post a starter thread and then from there ya'll can go at it. Sorry I'm about an hour late. (ooc: I needed to sleep in a little. First weekend in a loooong time that I've been able to sleep in and not worry about being some place.) Ok, get ready hunters. Val Strate Hazzard Co. Game Warden -
Hazzard County Wild Turkey Shoot - November 18 2007
Val Strate replied to MaryAnne's topic in Hazzard Swamp
Yes, Hil you can still sign up to be a hunter. Brian is the Turkey so you'll be hunting him and shooting paintballs at him. As far as a replacement turkey, if Mr. Coltrane decides not to partake in the event then a replacement will be chosen from a list of qualified lunatics to be the turkey. If we can't find anyone to be the turkey, if all else fails we'll send Cletus out there with tail feathers glued to his bottom and run around in Hazzard Woods. Val Strate Hazzard Co. Game Warden -

Val Strate replied to MaryAnne's topic in Hazzard Swamp
*writes this down quick* Kay. Thanks MA for gettin' the ball rolling. One nomination vote for Brian Coltrane to be this year's turkey. I think this is the third time we've done this thing and he's been turkey at least once out of the two years. Can't remember. Maybe he was turkey twice? Hhhhhmmmm *putting pencil to lips in thought* -

Hazzard County Wild Turkey Shoot - November 18 2007
Val Strate replied to MaryAnne's topic in Hazzard Swamp
*Pulls out clipboard and hangs the signup sheet on the wall* I have no turkeys signed up yet but we can do sign up today and shoot all day tomorrow. I was thinking about tomorrow night having it in the chatroom but I just found out I have a meeting I have to attend from 7:30pm till 12am EST tomorrow. I tell ya, when deer season gets over with the better for me. So who ever wants to be a turkey, sign up as turkey. Whoever wants to be hunter, sign up as hunter. Votes for our 'turkey' will be accepted and counted at 9pm EST. The lucky turkey will be announced at 9:30pm EST. Signup in this thread and I'll start a new thread in FF RR section for the Turkey Shoot tomorrow when it starts tomorrow morning and people can post around as they like. Hunting will start at 10am tomorrow morning and continue in the thread until Thanksgiving day. The basic forum rules apply. If you don't know them read them in the FF RR section before playing. Game is played with paintball guns as our tradition dictates, no real 'turkeys' will be harmed in the process of this RP. Any questions just PM me and I'll let ya know. (Note, this is open to everyone not just Fanfic characters. Just play yourself.) Val Strate Your friendly Hazzard Co. Game Warden -
Hey that sounds like a fun idea! Writing a fic or doing a picture. You could post them on Hnet for your Secret Santa buddy. How could we draw names and such? Would we put someone in charge of assigning Secret Santa's out?

Has anyone heard songs from this brand new album or bought it? I just got it over the weekend and I'm telling you it's awesome. If you love The Eagles you won't be disappointed. When I first heard the songs many of them fit like they could be songs in Hazzard. The music has just enough edge and just enough twang to give you that feel of soft mellow classic rock or soft rock country. On top of that mix feel, they almost seem a little folk musicish. However, it really doesn't matter what you classify it as... it just rocks! My favorite songs on this album are How Long, Busy Being Fabulous, Waiting in the Weeds, Do Something, Long Road Out of Eden, I Love to Watch a Woman Dance and there are many more... The whole album gives me inspiration for writing. Any thoughts or feelings about this if you've heard any of the new music from The Eagles? Val

What state and city are you in?
Val Strate replied to The_Dukes_Generl_Lee01's topic in General Discussion
Ppppplllth! If I do recall, Michigan got it's clock cleaned by Appalachian state. Also, for the record... Just where does Michigan sit in the college football polls as come paired to it's southern rival OSU? So how real is that football town now? -
Monkey see, monkey do... Uh oh Alex... monkey after you!

Happy Birthday Brian. Hope it's a great one. Val

I watched both vids you have there. I love the good old days one. That is awesome. On top of that, I use to not be a fan of anime until my college roommate now got me hooked on it. That anime flick you shown was really cool. Thank you for sharing. Val I also remember we had a discussion about comic books and if Dukes was made into a comic what the drawing style would be. If it'd be anime like that, I certianly wouldn't mind and I'd think it'd be a very well writen and drawn comic.
