  1. I come on here with a heavy heart, a saddened heart, to let you know that NASCAR driver Jason Leffler died yesterday at the age of 37. As of right now, not a whole lot is coming out about what happened other than that he was at a heat race in a 410 Sprint Car event at Bridgeport Speedway when his engine blew and he rolled three times. "Jason Leffler Remembered as a Friend, teammate, father" My thoughts and prayers goes out for Jason, his son, his family, his friends...Jason will be missed on and off the track.
  2. Sorry to hear you had to work Roger and missed the race. You are welcome about the race reports - I enjoy doing them. Congrats to your nephew on getting married...though too bad she isn't related to Jeff Gordon. Thanks Hoss for the movie poster...too funny. So when does it hit the movie theaters? Is Jeff Gordon REALLY in it? LOL Looks like a great movie!
  3. No commercials? That has got to be great...perhaps you should go tell that to TNT. Got frustrated with the commercials. Glad for no rain though. Sorry about Ricky...he's still a rookie. Give him time. Not everyone is Jeff Gordon.
  4. Pocono race has just ended on TNT...once again, the first half of the race was very uneventful and only cautions being for debris and for oil on the track. Know I said I prefer FOX before, but today only reinforced my feelings as we saw more commercials than racing on TNT...well at least the race is on TV. Darrell Waltrip often says that cautions breed cautions and they proved his point during the end of the race as there was several cautions right after each other after Juan Pablo Montoya had wrecked Matt Kenseth. Then Keselwoski and Stewart almost spun out but saved it. End of story...Jimmie Johnson led from the pole, led the most laps, and won his third race of the season. Maximum points for the 48 team today. Figured after the whole ordeal last week where he was leading at Dover before getting black flagged and finished seventeenth, that he would come back with a great finish to prove himself. Final results:[/B] 1. Jimmie Johnson 2. Greg Biffle 3. Dale Earnhardt Jr. 4. Tony Stewart 5 Ryan Newman 6 Kyle Busch 7 Kurt Busch 8 Denny Hamlin 9 Kevin Harvick 10 Joey Logano 11 Jeff Burton 12 Jeff Gordon 13 Jamie McMurray 14 Juan Pablo Montoya 15 Clint Bowyer 16 Brad Keselowski 17 Marcos Ambrose 18 Carl Edwards 19 Mark Martin 20 Travis Kvapil 21 Aric Almirola 22 Casey Mears 23 Martin Truex Jr. 24 David Gilliland 25 Matt Kenseth 26 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 27 Bobby Labonte 28 David Stremme 29 Danica Patrick 30 Paul Menard 31 Dave Blaney 32 David Reutimann 33 A J Allmendinger 34 Josh Wise 35 Timmy Hill 36 Kasey Kahne 37 David Ragan 38 Landon Cassill 39 J.J. Yeley 40 Michael McDowell 41 Scott Riggs 42 Joe Nemechek 43 Jason Leffler NASCAR will be racing at Jeff Gordon's favorite track...and the track where Dale Jr has gotten his last two wins...Michigan.
  5. Just a reminder that the race is on TNT for a few races, starting today. Opening ceremonies are under way and the boys are about to climb into their cars...and the sun is OUT. Well for now...hoping they get the entire race in today! As I said, I prefer the races on FOX...but one thing that is great that comes with NASCAR on TNT and ESPN...is Race Buddy. Where you can follow certain drivers on the computer. Listen to their in car conversations. Talk to other fans. Here is the address: Race Buddy
  6. Well Roger I am proud to announce that the Blackhawks won in second overtime tonight to clinch the series...now onto the series that will lead to the Stanley Cup. Woo hoo! Am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S GO BLACKHAWKS!!!!!!!!!! LET'S BRING THE STANLEY CUP HOME TO CHICAGO...WHERE IT BELONGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I have been following the game through what people are writing on Facebook...sounds like they started out so good tonight. Will be a hard loss if they do lose. Really hope they will win and clinch it TONIGHT. LET'S GO BLACKHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Does it have flames with the number 24 on it? Then it might... I saw you were there and do feel bad for you, but please don't give up. Think a lot of it has to do with luck...you can go by all the stats and who is best at that track and what not and yet have the driver wreck or someone to wreck him or have something go wrong with his car. Like last week they predicted that Kenseth would do good. I picked him and he had engine problems. A guy at work that is playing was doing good like you in the beginning and has fallen a few places as well...then again, he doesn't watch NASCAR or didn't think of NASCAR before he joined. So hang in there...am sure you can rebound higher than this. After all, look at where I am at in your fantasy baseball league...horrible! LOL
  9. His car looks awesome with the flames on the side! Can't wait to see it in Victory Lane!
  10. Well Hoss thanks for covering for my laziness. I would guess Jeff Gordon but I don't recall him ever shaving his head or having a goatee...just the mustache. Todd Bodine? Though I don't see him looking like Jeff Foxworthy...
  11. Well Roger enjoy your win that the Cubs gave you today...you won't get so lucky tomorrow when the Cubs ace pitcher Jeff Samardja takes the mound. I am sooooo anxious and excited for this upcoming Thursday as I will be heading on a bus trip to Chicago to see my CUBS play the Cincinnati Reds...at the best stadium...EVER! WRIGLEY FIELD! Really hope to get to hear their signature winning song that they play at every home game that they win! LOVE this video...it starts off and has several scenes with my hero Ryne Sandberg. He was the player with the #23 and the Cubs second baseman. Great baseball player, great man. Really miss him in Cubs uniform...not only that but also shows my second all time favorite Cubs player Kerry Wood and shows him hugging his son last year on his last day as an active Cubs player. Miss both those guys...class acts all the way. Ah and it has Harry Carray, Ron Santo...Oh and if you listen to the lyrics...they say the Cubs have the greatest fans. That is hard to argue! This has got to be the greatest song, greatest video EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and Roger, if you watch the video all the way through...half way through it shows the Cubs beating your Pirates 11-2! Woo hoo...was that a great game or what?! Going for the Chicago Blackhawks now? About time you go for a great team...am really hoping they will win the Stanley Cup this year. Am not a huge hockey fan...in fact don't think I have ever sat down and watched a game, but have been following the Blackhawks a lot this year. I need to have at least one of my teams make it...right? LOL
  12. Well Roger...make it stop raining! After the long week I have been having, I NEED a race to watch on Sunday! Not only that but Jeff Gordon is to shine his new paint scheme and sponsor on Sunday...Axalta Coating Systems...which was Dupont Performance Systems. Talking of which I am SUPER EXCITED to announce that not only does Gordon have a new sponsor in Axalta, but he has just signed a THREE year contract with them! Meaning we have at least THREE MORE YEARS with Jeff Gordon behind the wheel of the number twenty-four car. Bet y'all can't guess who's excited...now can you? Jeff Gordon signs with Axalta through 2016! Closer to Michigan, Roger? Well then...you'll be interested to find out that, that is Jeff Gordon's favorite race track. Michigan. But yeah...you really need to hide all that nasty rain and turn on some sunshine for the race on Sunday. It can rain all that it wants to starting Monday....
  13. Onto Pocono this week...where it is supposedly rainy. Qualifying has been rained out and the forecast on Sunday doesn't look too good either. So whenever they have the race, the drivers will line up as of where they are in points. JJ will get pole. And once again...the race will be on TNT. You go to FOX and you will not find the race...sadly. Really wish the races would stay on FOX...
  14. I agree with the Keselowski deal getting a few points taken away like Truex Jr...just don't know what they would do with his crew chief since he is already on probation. . . let y'all know what is said and done about it.
  15. I am sooooo looking forward to seeing them in concert in another month and a half!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Well y'all, you remember over a month ago when reigning 2012 NASCAR champ, Brad Keselowski (with his team mate Joey Logano) was found with something wrong with their rear end housing? They got hit pretty hard at first before they appealed it and then went to the final step in the appeal process where Middlebrook reduced the penalty by suspending their crew chiefs for two races... Well today was the first race back for both Logano's and Keselowski's to return to the track and well...get this... I am getting word that Brad Keslowski's number two car failed post race inspection. The front of his car was too low...now his car will be shipped to NASCAR's Research & Development Center for further inspection. Will keep you all updated with this as more info comes out...though it doesn't look good for Keselowski's crew chief Paul Wolfe who is already on probation for his earlier penalty...
  17. NASCAR should do something different...though after the incident with the camera cables last week doubt they will be putting in another overhead camera any time soon. I don't know who Chris Brown is...is he a singer? LOL. If it isn't country or Christian...or NKOTB, I know very little. Sorry. Though I know I didn't mean what I said in any bad way...other than for Ricky to beat Danica in rookie of the year points.
  18. I am sure they are comparing their RPMs to the rest of the Gen 6 cars or the rest of the NASCAR cars they use and not to another type of car. Glad your's are so high...as for me, whatever works for NASCAR; works for me. Ricky did pretty good...which I am glad since I had him on both of my NASCAR fantasy teams (my paying one and non paying one). David and Ryan did talk to each other with more respect than other drivers have in the past...would be surprised to see David get upset enough to start throwing stuff. He isn't known to throw fits like that...then again it surprised me to see Ryan wreck him like he did. I for one am happy with Jeff Gordon's third place finish...he is now unofficially eleventh in points. Jumping up four spots from fifteenth. So I for one am happy with that....and upset about the whole JJ deal. But will keep my opinion to myself on that topic... Though Hoss, you will be happy to know that Ricky Stenhouse Jr, as of right now, is leading for rookie of the year. So far beating out his girl friend, Danica Patrick.
  19. You are welcome Roger. I enjoy it. Well the race at Dover just got over...first half was pretty uneventful with a few long green flag runs. Denny Hamlin led the first few laps before Matt Kenseth took the lead to lead 79 laps only for his engine to blow and take him out early. Jimmie Johnson had a rough start of the race...went a lap down and all. But after a couple of pit stops it brought him out to the front. Ryan Newman ran into the back of JJ going into the pits and then came out and ran into David Gilliland's car several times before wrecking them both out of the car...both were two laps down. Personally don't understand why Ryan was being so aggressive when they are TWO LAPS down...not only did he wreck Gilliland, he wrecked himself too. After the whole incident David got out of his car and talk or confront Ryan about it. Think the turning point of the race was when they restarted after a caution with Juan Pablo Montoya leading and Jimmie Johnson second...well JPM didn't start right off and JJ passed him...until NASCAR black flagged Jimmie Johnson for jumping the restart. JJ had to do a drive through penalty. Went from winning to a lap down and seventeenth. Jeff Gordon who had spent most of the race around fifteenth spot decided to stay out and not pit for position and got him to fourth spot...and when he needed to pit, Denny Hamlin's tire blew and he hit the wall. Tony Stewart who has had a pretty bad season thus far, raced Juan Pablo and got his first win of the season... Here is the official results of Dover...the Monster Mile: 1 Tony Stewart 2 Juan Pablo Montoya 3 Jeff Gordon 4 Kyle Busch 5 Brad Keselowski 6 Clint Bowyer 7 Joey Logano 8 Kevin Harvick 9 Mark Martin 10 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 11 Jeff Burton 12 Kurt Busch 13 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 14 Carl Edwards 15 Greg Biffle 16 Casey Mears 17 Jimmie Johnson 18 Aric Almirola 19 Marcos Ambrose 20 Paul Menard 21 Bobby Labonte 22 David Ragan 23 Kasey Kahne 24 Danica Patrick 25 Josh Wise 26 David Reutimann 27 Austin Dillon 28 David Stremme 29 Dave Blaney 30 J.J. Yeley 31 Joe Nemechek 32 Landon Cassill 33 Jamie McMurray 34 Denny Hamlin 35 Timmy Hill 36 Ryan Newman 37 David Gilliland 38 Martin Truex Jr. 39 Travis Kvapil 40 Matt Kenseth 41 Mike Bliss 42 Michael McDowell 43 Scott Riggs I am also sad to announce that today's race was the last race of the season on FOX...the races will move over to TNT for a few races before moving to ESPN. I say sad in a matter of my own petty opinion because I highly wish the entire NASCAR season would be on FOX...I have nothing against TNT or ESPN or their announcers, I just personally like FOX and the announcer/reporter team better than the other stations. I am already missing Darrell Waltrip, Jeff Hammond, Larry McReynolds, and Mike Joy. But as I said, that is of my own opinion. For what it is worth...
  20. How about an old Kenny Chesney song...
  21. Thanks Hoss for covering for me...haven't been online or on the computer for the past couple of days. My niece and nephew are over so the computer has been shoved aside. So thanks for covering for me...I feel guilty for not doing my job. As for my drivers starting next to Ricky...I do believe it should be the other way around. In fact, it was Tony Stewart this week that was stating how he wished he could strangle Ricky for how he blocks people...just sayin'. Thanks again...will try to do better tomorrow.
  22. Glad you are liking it and that it is close to home...makes it easier. :)

  23. We miss you here too...glad to see you planning on coming back more often. ;) Congrats on the new job. Hope you love it!

  24. Stranger? Who me? Naw I've been here off and on for some time now...think it is you that is the stranger. :D Not much here. How about you?

  25. You are welcome, Hoss. It was a late race . . . even here. Though I managed to stay up to watch til the end...even if it didn't go my way.
