"I gotta do somethin...I ain't lettin her go back there...I promised her..."

"Like what?" he asked not looking up.

"Must have been..." said Luke in a hallowed voice.

"She found me in the woods....took me home...helped me...Bo...she...she can read minds...her mom...kept her chained...in a dark closet...to keep her away from people...." began Luke with a shudder. "She's the one what found you."

"Nothin..." He knew it wasn't because he wasn't related. He had told them he was her father and given her name as Jamie Duke.

Luke sat back down in relief. He had been sitting in the waiting room worrying himself sick. Now at least one of his worries was unsubstantiated. He let out a long shaky breath.

Daisy sighed doubting that would work. She never could lie to her cousins without them catching on.

Luke nodded and climbed into the ambulance taking hold of Jaime's hand. The paramedics shut the door as the ambulance sped off sirens blaring.

Daisy nodded. "I'll tell'em.I promise...you take care of yaself if I don't see ya before ya go ya hear?"

"Listen to em," he pleaded. He supposed they'd want to check him out to, but he wasn't going to leave Jaime..."

Luke nodded. "You stay close?" he asked sounding more like a scared child on the first day of school.

"Aw, Lori. I don't think it's that Luke don't want to talk to you...he's just...he's been hurt recently...and..." she bit her lip not sure what Lori knew or how much she shuld tell.

Luke nodded a little as the crew loaded Jaime in to the ambulance, swallowing hard.

"Jaime! Jaime don't you do this...don't you leave me..."

"That's great Lori!" exclaimed Daisy with a hug.

Luke saw the pain in her eyes. "Jaime...hold on ...please Darlin...just hold on..."

Luke's lip quivered as he held her. This wasn't right. She had been through so much already...and now... she'd been hurt...savig Luke...who had promised to save her.

Luke sat in the grass hugging Jaime close to him and rocking her. "Hang on sweetheart...Bo'll get help...you just hang on."

Luke looked down at Jaime and nodded. "Be careful...I don't wanna lose ya..."

"Bo...you'll get lost...an those fellas are still around..."

Daisy shrugged. "First I heard about it."

Luke shook his head. '"There's gotta be somethin we can do!" he exclaimed, tears welling in his eyes.

His eyes widen as he sees the blood. "No...no!" Quickly he whipped out his handkerchief and held it to the wound standing with her in his arms. "We gotta get help!"

"Jaime!" cried Luke gently scooping her into his arms. "Jaime darlin...answer me."

Luke ran over to him. "Bo...you alright...oh Lord..."
