  1. (aright, I've been holding back and watching this, but its getting too good not to jump in) *the young blonde doctor steps out onto her front porch of the clinic with her cup of coffee, having a break between patients and paperworks. Notes with a raised eyebrow the crowd gathering in front of the courthouse, decided not to join the crowd but leans against the porch post and sips her coffee, knowing if the Coltranes are up to something, its going to be something worth watching*
  2. coffee (who's not surprised by that)

Anyone else catching this tonight? (ABC 10/9p) I have a huge interest in services like Red Cross and Doctors without Borders and really like the premise of this show, a couple of my Doc Walker stories has revolved around stories like this. Pendragon
  6. "To Build a Fire" I read that back in 7th grade and haven't been able to read it again since. Speaking of short stories, one that stuck with me is "All Summer in a Day" is a short story by science fiction author Ray Bradbury. My favorite authors are: Stephen King Kurt Vonnegut Dan Brown JRR Tolkien Terry Brooks Piers Anthony Mitch Albom Anne MccCaffery I have quite a few more, but these make up 80% of my library.
  7. Since its a cold, snowy day, sometimes you need just a rich, hearty bowl of chili Disclaimer: I like chili notoriously spicy, so adjust to taste Hot Dog Mustard Chili 1 14oz package BallPark Franks 1.5 pounds ground sirloin 28oz can crushed tomatoes 15oz can dark kidney beans, drained. 1 onion 2 hot peppers 2-3 cups beef broth, depending how loose you like your chili chili powder (I use two palm-fulls) crushed garlic (I use 2-4 cloves) cumin (I use one palm-full) hot sauce brown mustard (I use approx 1/2 cup) Servings 16: *Approx 1 cup per serving*. Freezes well. Broil hotdogs until browned. Chop up and set aside. Saute onion , peppers and garlic in cooking spray until tender, add sirloin and brown. Meanwhile add tomatoes, broth, beans and spices into a large pot. Add hotdogs, set over med heat. Add sirloin when done, let simmer for 15-20 minutes. Add hot sauce to taste. Enjoy!
  8. That's a shame, he was one of my favorite guests on the show.
  9. Can I be Nasty's little helper? I already got the costume. http://planetcostume.com/images/P/3487_3485_fv_L.jpg Doc
  10. Well then, I think I have a list for Nasty for what I want. Doc
  11. I read more than one fandom, several genres actually. But I just want to say I am constantly impressed by the quality of writing on Hazzardnet. Unfortunately most fanfiction I find in other genres read like written by rabid fangirls (and most are), but Dukes of Hazzard seems to have acquired a singular quality of fanfiction that rare to find. Keep up the good work, y'all.
  12. Dukes of Hazzard is not the first fandom I have wrote for. I started with fantasy/sci-fi fiction. I went under the name Pen-dragon, as in dragon that writes. The name stuck. The year is by birth year. Incidentally, Pendragon is the family name of King Arthur of Camelot. His father, King Uther, adopted a red dragon as his battle standard and got the nickname "Supreme Dragon". As the bringer of Christianity to Britain, Arthur added the cross to the standard, as seen in my avatar. For for my character, Chance Walker is actually a name I took from a romance novel. (Lover in the Rough, by Elizabeth Lowell, if anyone's curious) Ironically, the name was of the hero, not the heroine. Her nickname "Doc" was gifted to her by a close friend after I joined the site.
  13. I'll restrain myself from any "turn your head" remarks. But appropriately enough my word is doctor.
  14. I did a few for my character, Chance Walker. Probably the best so far was: we carnal hack. I shouldn't even contemplate the possible meanings of that one.
  15. I think I beat you to it, deputy.
