  1. Sorry I meant for your mom good luck learning it. Heck it depends on what part of PA you live in what language you need to speak. Here in Philly we have a strong Russian section, were even the billboards are in Russian. Hmmmm wonder if old Russians when they bathe thier cats use Voka. And if they do, do they drink it, have the cats drink it, bathe the cats in it or all of the above?
  2. I never realized that they were all on the same road! Here are some more that I caught from the Runaway here the Dukes live on Mill Pond Road, where in a latter Epsiode it is Old Mill Road. The Directions to the Duke farm from the telephone office in town is: Hang left at the next corner and go 18 miles to Mill Pond Rd. Highways 9, 134, and 126 Sumner Farm The Old playground Shawnee Indian Caves Punum Creek which was the location of the slowest car chase ever Kissin' Cliffs where the Duke boys totaled Daisys Roadrunner Blacktar Rd Crystal Lake Bridge plus from some other episodes Black Hollow Hazzard Swamp Hazzard Livery Stable Chicamahawny County
  3. There is a naked/semi naked General on the covers of seasons 1 and 3! Come people what is up with parading around a half naked General Lee for eveyone to see. Where's your modesty. In Crazy_C's words: "Somebody, quick, slap a big ol' Oh-One on the side of the General!! A leading figure of the General's standards should not be seen out of full uniform, EVER!"
  4. You pegged me! I had to go and look for the disks, (my daughter took it into her room out of my room) and look. OMG your right, and I never noticed it before. I am going to see if my 9 yr old daughter notices it. I can't believe that I didn't notice before, but then again I was to busy looking at John! LOL
  5. I have an old Russian neighbor. She still knows some of the Russian that she spoke as a little girl. She is almost 87. When she was a preschool child she didn't know any English. They lived in an all Russian neighborhood. Good luck with learning it.
  6. We are having hard rains and I am sooo impressed that my passenger side isn't soaking wet. I don't have any weather stripping on that side. I have had it were my passenger side floor boards were flooded with about a half inch of water from rains. Wind must be blowing the rain in the right direction! Also you know your car is old when your gas door/lid is constently open because it won't stay shut. Every turn makes it swing on its hinges. I got so sick and tired of nice people telling me that my gas lid/cap/door was open that I just wrote on the inside part that it was broken in perment marker. That solved that problem. You know what I love that old car, she has spunk and personality.
  7. Thanks Brian, I signed up for the Amazon notification list. I have been wanting to see this movie since I heard about it. Also on a different note, The Dukes movie is now on Dish pay per view. I guess I will get it and then record it to the dvr. Then I only have to pay $4 instead of $20 to own it.
  8. Your guess is as good as mine. I think though that I heard that it was a five mile drive from the Duke farm to either the Boars Nest or into Hazzard proper.
  9. Well I would only be able to spend two nights so that would cut off some of the cost, since the kids are still in school. I would have to drive down Friday and I guess leave Sunday. I don't know if I can do this or not, but it is worth thinking about. So maybe earmark $1500 for it.
  10. Well there was talk somewhere around here about a Hazzard County map. Well here are some locations for that map. The Duke Farm: Out on Old Mill Rd The Old Sawmill Cotton Hollow Switchman's shack at the Rail Road Siding Hazzard Pond Dawson Digs Willow Creek Rimfire Ridge The Old Howard Place The Old Hazzard Elementary School Old Post Rd Mud Flats Pokerville Pass Boss Hoggs Shine site #1 Sandridge Road (I lived off of that road in Hubert NC) Cedar Creek Ln Hollow Creek Hazzard County Childrens Orphange Chickasaw County Plainsville Colonial City Captial City. Can anyone think of /catch from the show any more?
  11. Whats funny is that Mushie is a very common name in Germany. It is the German version of kitty. My aunt in Germany had a cat named Mushie, my older (14&15 yrs older) sisters had a Mushie, so it kind of just goes with out saying that I would eventually have one. I also had two cats and two dogs when we live in NC. Unfortunalty when we moved to Philly I had to give them away. Their names were Duke (choc lab) Duchess (Choc lab) Prince (tabby cat) and Princess (calico)
  12. To Any Dukefest vets: What do you think it will cost for me and three kids to spend the weekend down there. We are willing/ok have to do it on the cheap, for rooming and food. I am planning on driving down if we are able to go and if the car will handle it. thanks
  13. That is a great picture. I really envy you. Oh any of you know the horror movie from the 80's called "Sleep Away Camp"? The girl in it Felissa Rose went to my school. Her real name was Felissa Eposito. Does she count as a famous person? Oh she had her professional head shot picture as her year book picture, while the rest of us just had the regular year book picture. I can't remember if it was JH or HS.
  14. I have to ask, why all Russian names? I also pitty you on those days that they all must be bathed. Here are my cats names O'Ryan (he's an orange tabby) Pinkie (she's a gray calico) Mushie / Moo-she (He's a gray tabby) Ginger (she's an orange and brown calico)
  15. Well in the words of Cooter "I maybe crazy but I ain't dumb..."
  16. Sorry, didn't make myself clear. I bathed them one after the other, but boy did they seem to get meaner and meaner. I think the wet ones were telepathically telling the dry ones what was going on! By the time I got to the last cat, it felt like I was trying four at once. Damn fleas! (we found kittens in my garage so had to bring them in, and ended up bringing in so many fleas that the cats had to put no vacancy signs up!)
  17. Time to put some life back in this old thread. Still getting around to reading alot of these intersting topics. I am a mix of tastes. I love anything that has a good song. My favorites though are Billy Joel and Sir Elton John. I listen to the classic rock station here, but have found myself listening to the Videos on CMT. I have been trying to find John and Tom's music in the stores but am having a hard time. Basically if it has a good story to the song, and it is understandable I like it. EXCEPT RAP, I just can't stand that. That is the only thing that I don't let people listen to when they are driving in my car. (if the radio will tune it in)
  18. The only stars that I have met were from Star Trek. I have seen at conventions in NYC, Bill Shatner talk, along with Lt. Uhura, (having a serious brain fart on her real name right now). She is a beautiful woman by the way. I have met and shook hands with George Taki before he was to go in to the main convention room and give his talk. My mom (I was in either JH or HS at the time) and I went out to use the rest room. When we go back to the room we see George Taki standing with a newspaper under his arm waiting to go in. My mother totally embarrassed me by going up to him and saying something along the lines of "Strange to meet you here." He was really a nice man. Later that day I got his autograph.
  19. OH my God, Y'all had me cracking up. I loved the pictures!!! Y'all making me miss NC again. It's been 5 yrs since I left the rural life and enter the urban hell. Here are my true to life Redneck experiences The directions to your house include turn off the paved road. (the dirt road to the right is the right dirt road, and don't worry the bridge will hold your car, and if you pass the second horse field you've gone to far, were the rest of the directions to my trailer.) You mow your entire back yard with a borrowed weedeater. (Hey why pay for one when you can go to Cuz and borrow one! ) Your neighbor will not tell you how many huntin' dogs he has, (must be a state secret) You trade a broken down piece o'sh-t car for a broke down huge hole in the bottom piece o'sh-t boat. You then turn that pos boat into a planter with your name on it. Your the Dukes of the rednecks in your trailer park because you have a the only doublewide, and your landlords trailer is the worst of the bunch. Your kids potty train in the yard, off the steps, etc. Your neighbor calls you to tell you your baby is escaping out the dog door butt naked again. Your landlord uses a backhoe to prevent people from skipping out in the night with thier trailer. Your car is hit by a crazed deer, coming home from a christmas ball. You hit a deer with your truck and wonder if the meat is still any good. The only thing preventing your truck from flipping are those ditches! Thank god for that too. Ya move to the urban hell of Philly and conceously have to work at not saying "fixing to go" Man I miss Hubert NC, just outside of Jacksonville NC.
  20. My old '88 Corsica had that happen to it. One day the turn single would blink on its own and then the next day I had to manually make it blink. Well a couple of months later the darn thing decieded it wanted to work again. Boy was I one excited driver. You know your car is old when your afraid to take it to the carwash for fear that it would "melt" or fall apart. I too am afraid that I would drown in the car, if it didn't fall apart. I don't have any weather stripping on the passenger side. I have the weather stripping in my trunk though, been there for over a year now. You know your car is old when you have various items holding up your drivers window. Makes for going through drive thrus an interesting experience that is for shur.
  21. If this is the jump that I am thinking of, it was also shown on Happy Birthday General Lee, as their first jump. I love the looks on thier faces after that jump.
  22. Ahhh Pendragon, why didn't I read this earlier, for I have permanent scars from bathing not one cat, not two cats, not even three cats, but four, Yes I said FOUR cats! Unfortunatly I do not have a sliding glass door for my tub, go blame my cheaparse landlord for that. I had to bathe these Four manical cats with just the lowly shower curtain. I did find out one thing, if you can manage to grap a hold of thier slippery scruff of thier neck, they tend to dangle like an angry kitten in its momma's mouth, yet it is hard to hold on to. Well I wish you good luck and safe batheing next time you have to bathe the stinky kitty, and I will definalty take your advice when I have to to battle with the manical foursome here.
  23. You might be a Dukes fan it You live in the city and go to the local cemetary/community vegetable garden to try and drive like the Dukes off road. (I have done that. There is a large area of unused/unplanted grass by the community garden in the cemetary) You know what keep it between the ditches means, the hard way, by almost flipping your pickup truck, and the ditch was the only thing preventing you from flipping. You are trying to learn how to download ring tones from verzion so you can get the Dukes theme song on your phone. You go to sleep almost every night watching Dukes or Smallville (for John Schnieder.) all true for me. stay safe and
  24. I guess it is time to check out KB Toys! Keh keh
  25. Born and raised on Long Island NY then lived from 87-91 at/outside of Quantico Marine Corp Base, Northern VA then from 91-93 (18 months total) Oceanside CA and on Camp Pendleton then 94-2000 I live in Jacksonville NC outside of Camp LeJeune and since 2000 I live in Philly (home of the worst football team currently or is that always??) I was a Marine and then Married a Marine, hence all the bases. I have been to Amsterdam for a day years ago. Unfortunatly I was with my mother so we did all the tourist things. I really loved the city and would love to visit it and the Netherlands again.
