Dating advice
Spike and 3 others reacted to Meadowmufn for a topic
My parents were married 67 years, just a few months shy of 68 years when dad passed. They got married at 19 (mom) and 21 (dad). I've been married almost 23 years. My oldest sister celebrates anniversary #32 this year and my other sister will celebrate #26 later this year. So, my advice would be to find someone who's been married a long time and get advice from them! Because whatever my mom and dad were doing right, it seemed to rub off on us kids. My mom always told me that the key to a long marriage was.... 2 tv sets. And for the record, all of us kids have more than 1 tv set.4 points -
Hee Haw!
Hobie Hartkins and 2 others reacted to Tom Duke for a topic
Anyone on here remember the show Hee Haw? Presented by Buck Owens & Roy Clarke, and featuring a great variety cast and awesome sketch comedy. Back in the good old days when the whole family could gather round the television.. I may just be 23, but discovering the show on YouTube and then finding a channel that airs reruns in Canada really got me onto it!3 points -

There was definitely more overtaking this week at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The McLarens were quickest in practice, and Oscar Piastri put his on pole for the race. Lando Norris wasn't as comfortable in his McLaren and only qualified sixth. Max Verstappen was also unhappy with his Red Bull and started seventh. Oscar led the whole race to take his fourth F1 victory. George Russell got his Mercedes up to second at the start and managed to keep the place until the end, although at the moment he's under investigation for a technical infringement. Despite at 5-second penalty for being out of position on the grid, Lando moved up from sixth to finish third. He was followed home by the two Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari had an upgraded car this weekend, but Charles said it wouldn't show much improvement in this race due to the nature of the track. Max got past the Alpine of a fast Pierre Gasly on the last lap. Haas got both of their cars home in the top ten with Esteban Ocon in eighth and Oliver Bearman in tenth. Between them in ninth was Yuki Tsunoda in the second red Bull. The race highlights are here. Only a week until the next race in Saudi Arabia.3 points

I was told that I should make an off-topic art thread so that I don’t go missing for months so here we are. Recently, it’s all been Alex Winter, his face is just so face and I can’t stop drawing him. If you want to see these as more often, you can go to my twitter @/st33l_horse cause I post stuff as soon as I finish there. The original DeLoreans were manufactured in Northern Ireland, and only about 9,000 were made before the company went bankrupt. The company that now owns the name is the DeLorean Motor Company in Humble, TX. They acquired the remaining parts inventory and now supply parts and do restorations. Back in 2022, they announced a new electric car called the Alpha5, which is also designed by Italdesign Giugiaro, and shares some styling cues with the original DMC-12. It doesn't seem to have made it into production yet. A British company called Electrogenic produce an EV conversion kit for the DMC-12 which offers 150 miles of range and a 0-60 time of under 5 seconds. Back to the game: Rough2 points

The General was always portrayed as a '69 Charger (denoted by the grille and tail lights), but both '68 and '69 Chargers were used, and the junkyard owner in 'Happy Birthday, General Lee' mistakenly referred to the car that became the General as a "black '68 coupe".2 points

Car reviewer Doug DeMuro's latest video is about a 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhardt Edition which also comes with a few extra Dale Earnhardt goodies. With only 4,300 miles from new, it's currently for sale on his carsandbids.com site. Don't worry Garrett, a year later Chevy made a Jeff Gordon Edition. I found a load of pictures of that here, so you'll know what to look for.2 points

Roger this made my entire week. Thank you . I have been lingering around here and there. I wish I was watching too many Cubs games but sadly don't have cable. Just been busy and tired and not sure I have much worthwhile stuff to post. LOL. Hopefully the Cubs continue to win...and hopefully Chase Elliott finds Victory Lane again. It's been too long. . . Thank you, Roger, for your post and the smile.2 points -
I like that you are breathing new life into old threads. It's a bit like restoring an old car. It's fun to watch something that has been ignored come back to its former glory. As you search you will be amazed at how vast this place it.2 points

Dating advice
Meadowmufn and one other reacted to Hobie Hartkins for a topic
my advice.....DON'T DO IT!!! It's like smoking....don't even start!! Studies have shown that dating leads to marriage and that marriage, in this country, is the leading cause of divorce! ( Don't believe me?? Think on this!.....100% of the people you know that are divorced, at one time, were married! It's the 2nd biggest mistake I ever made in my life!2 points -

Dad instilled a love of cars in me. He used to take me to cruisin' 50's night in high school and when I was little we went to the Harrah's Auto Museum in Sparks, NV on vacation. That was a treat. Dad had dementia for his last years, but my brother and I managed to get him to the Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance and the Petersen Automotive Museum a few years ago. We had a blast, made some great memories, and took lots of photos.2 points -

It will soon be powered by the Hemi V8 again. Stellantis will be making the 5.7, 6.4 and hellcat V8s in Ann arbor Michigan. Sales of the electric Charger have been abysmal and it seems the guys in charge of Dodge don't think the hurricane 6 engine won't do much better for Charger sales so they're working on getting the V8 back under the hood. I seen a video the other day on YouTube where the Charger was raced against the Mustang dark horse. Next to the mustang the charger looked huge. It didn't do all that well either. Between the 2 guys one definitely has raced cars before and knew how to drive as he won the race in both cars. 1st race he was in the Charger and didn't really blow the mustang away as you'd expect from an electric car. 2nd race he was in the Mustang, while off the line the charger was ahead he eventually caught up and passed the Charger. In other news Camaro could be coming back. GM reps confirmed Chevy will be the car for V8 Supercars and NASCAR and they confirmed it wouldn't be a Corvette.2 points
