I can see why they'd want an exciting finish, but the way you describe it, it sounds more like manipulating the result. The main controversy at this week's F1 was varying enforcement of the track limit rules. Due to travel restrictions, some races are taking place at circuits which aren't usually on the F1 calendar. Especially on circuits where they host motorcycle racing, the outside of corners are paved for safety rather than being gravel or grass. To prevent the drivers from gaining an unfair advantage by taking a wide line on corners, at least one wheel must remain within the white line which marks the edge of the track. During qualifying, drivers had their times deleted if they exceeded the track limits, and Max Verstappen had his fastest lap deleted for the same reason. The commentators were suggesting that it would be better if they could remove the advantage of going wide. I'm not sure that there's an easy solution.

Nascar Officials once again created controversy with cautions in both the Truck and Cup series races. In the truck race they seemed to randomly call a caution for spinning trucks one time but not other times. In the Cup series with 30 laps to go it was for a tire that was neither on the pit lane or anywhere near the track. Even Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer and Mike Joy said there was no need for the caution just before the yellow flag was thrown. Surprise surprise Kyle Busch won the Buschy McBusch 400 race after Nascar's BS tire caution caused multiple wrecks and cautions. Kyle Larson dominated the race and had a big cushion to the 2nd place car before the infamous tire caution. On the restart Denny Hamlin got the lead but couldn't hold off a hard charging Larson and eventually brushed the wall which brought out another caution. On the next restart they never even got a lap in before another wreck and caution. Kyle Larson ended up finishing 19th. Top 10 1 Kyle Busch 2 Kevin Harvick 3 Brad Keselowski 4 Matt Dibenedetto 5 Chase Elliot 6 Martin Truex jr 7 Tyler Reddick 8 Chris Buescher 9 William Byron 10 Austin Dillon Onto throwback weekend at Darlington next weekend. Both races will be on FS1 so more than likely there will be a ratings drop from last year's race. On a sad note Bobby Unser passed away Sunday. He won the Indy 500 3 times in 3 decades, one of only 2 drivers to do that. He also made 3 starts in the Cup series in car numbers 13, 99 and 41. His best finish was 4th at Riverside in 1973. You also might remember him from the Nascar broadcast booth where he worked alongside Benny Parsons from 1986-1992.

Once again, to me, no race is boring. Any race is a good race...but today's race lacked any real excitement to write home about. Pre Race show was all about Denny Hamlin who started 28th and well, he delivered for 'em.. He led the most laps and came home the victory at Loudon, NH. . .Hamlin ran out of gas at the end of the race at Chicagoland and had wrote on his Twitter account that he'd win at Loudon...once again, he answered his call. Kyle Busch did lead some laps and was strong until his engine started having problems and he went back pretty fast. Here is the top ten finishes of today's race: 1. denny hamlin 2. jimmie johnson 3. jeff gordon 4. clint bowyer 5. kasey kahne 6. brad keselowski 7. tony stewart 8. joey logano 9. brian vickers 10. ryan newman dale earnhardt jr came home 13th. david ragen 29th. Well Roger, you happy now? No one was capitalized at all...that should make your day. Well we are onto the Monster Mile...Dover.

Wow roger you must've woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. First your baeball thread you attack me and now you are attacking me on my very own NASCAR thread. What have I ever done to you? Well I guess since just mentioning Ragen and his progress for you, perhaps I won't say nothing in my review tomorrow about how Ragen does...even if he wins, I will his spot empty. You can check up on his progress yourself...better yet, you can watch the race and see how he does. As for his championships, well, I'll be happy for David if he won a championship. Truly I will be. He is deserving of it, but truthfully, if he is to win races to get to that championship, I feel like he needs to prove his talent and get a better ride. Right now he is driving for an underdog team that don't have the money to compete with the higher ranked drivers. He had that with Rousch last year before Rousch sadly let go of him. David is young, he still has time to prove himself. But he'll have to prove himself as Jimmie Johnson had done that day when JEFF GORDON saw him on the track and picked him up to join the Hendrick team... Never knew I could so easily offend a friend in my NASCAR reviews or that roger is so sensitive about David Ragen that he would get offended. I apologize Roger and hope you may forgive my capitalizing on Gordon's name. Will try my best not to do that again...even if he wins tomorrow. GO JEFF GORDON AND TEAM 24!!!! and david ragen!

To answer your question.....no I'm not happy.....and I won't be until DAVID RAGEN (all capitals) wins more championships in a row than JJ and garrett's (no capitals) thread becomes the DAVID RAGEN thread. Is that too much to ask for? GO DAVID RAGEN!!!!.....beat jeff gordon

Thanks Garrett. I've never seen you put the number one driver in all capital letters. Hmmm, I wonder why. Oh yea, it's 'cause you like the guy and he hasn't been at the top very much this year. I see David Ragen didn't get all capital letters even though that's probably been his best starting position all year. I'm starting to sense a little favoritism in your NASCAR posts. (but I guess I have to put up with it or you'll get mad at me and stop posting)

Yeah it must be difficult on NASCAR to compete with the NFL...I will always take NASCAR over NFL.. So they have nothing to worry about with losing me...except for during commercial breaks. You are welcome. You know I like talking NASCAR. Oops...guess I forgot to mention the most important thing. Jeff was fine...just disappointed. Glad he is OK, that is the main thing.

Well this upcoming race for the Sprint Cup is Saturday night is at 7:30 on ABC...and is is a big one. It is the last race until the chase starts...the last ten races. And eight drivers are chasing to get into the chase's twelve car field. Drivers like: Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman, Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, Paul Menard, Marcos Ambrose, and Joey Logano. Though just read an article that said that in reality the wild card chase (the last two spots of the twelve car roster) is really between Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch. Kasey Kahne is the only one with two wins (at this moment) as the rest only have one. For Jeff Gordon to get into the chase he needs to be 13 cars ahead of Kyle Busch (which would equal out to thirteen points...) As for Kyle Busch he needs to win the race or to finish 12 points ahead of Jeff Gordon. (Am sure the other drivers have a chance at the chase as well...but mainly have to do better than Kyle and Jeff). That alone makes this 24 fan really nervous...but to add to it that Richmond, where they will be racing Saturday night, is a race that Kyle Busch is great at. Don't know Gordon's stat for this track, but do think he has won here before. Am hoping he will do it again. Dang...I wish Gordon was locked in on points right now, but with all the bad luck that plagued him earlier (hopefully all that bad luck is passed and he'll have all good luck for the rest of the season!) he is lucky to be in contention for the chase at all. With all that said, I don't know how much of the race I will be able to watch if at all since I am going out. Hate missing a race...especially one this important, but oh well I guess. Perhaps this will help me not to get so crazy as I know I'll be nervous for the 24 team. Perhaps I'll remember to breathe again Sunday morning. Though I will definately read up on it and see what has happened (especially if I don't catch the end of the race, but am hoping to at least watch that part!) and will write my review as well as the new points. All that means, is there is ONLY ELEVEN MORE RACES of the season left...sigh. Already dreading the off season. LOL
