This cultural change has been coming at a pretty rapid rate. I don't know what the future holds. All cultures evolve. Nothing stays the same in any culture but this one is especially troubling to me. Maybe it's always been this way. Maybe I'm just entering a stage of my life where I start to become a grumpy old man. Either that or cancel culture is run by a bunch of crazies. HMM, THAT SOUNDS MORE LIKE IT.

I may be the only visitor to this great site who actually knew Boss Hogg. Well, in truth I knew Sorrell Booke, who created the character and played him. Sorrell was my best friend's big brother: extremely intelligent, very funny. He was a US Army Counter Intelligence Corps officer. No one I have ever known owned and read more books than Sorrell. He was also a master craftsman who could build anything. And he was really nice. My daughter celebrated her ninth birthday with a group of her girlfriends. Sorrell called her to wish her a happy birthday. Her friends were amazed!

There seems to be a trend here to post stuff that is a little bit edgy. That's no surprise since the world seems to have gone crazy. Since I have been part of the problem I really am not worthy of acting like Uncle Jesse and getting everybody back it line with a gruff authoritarian voice so I won't...... but I will say this: While I may be tempted in the future to post stuff that displays my anger about insane current events I will not anymore. This website is one of my favorite things in the world and I don't want to ruin it by being part of the problem. From this point forward I pledge to return to the fun that the HazzardNet is intended to be. After all, HazzardNet might be the only sane place left in cyberspace. Where would the internet be if it gets tainted and turns crazy too? I hope others join me in my pledge.

I have some very strong political opinions myself, but I prefer my entertainment and fun to be untainted by the negativity and bickering that sometimes surrounds politics. I want everyone to feel welcome here and have fun.

If that's not a return to fun I dont know what is!

oh, and I WILL fulfill all my campaign promises! ( wait and see! )

I'm now announcing my candidacy for president! That's right Mason Jars for everybody! I will make you only 2 promises...but I'll keep BOTH of them! 1. If you elect me, I will take office 2. A vote for me....means a vote for me!

Thanks Hobie. I am a very politically active person. I've had several quotes on CNN (the old Jack Cafferty show) and CNBC, several letters in USA Today, a thousand letters in local newspapers the past 40 years and have also been active politically on other forums but there is a time and place for all that and it's not here....even though I'll agree that those fights need to be fought. As important as politics can be it can also be corrosive in certain settings and I have so much love for Hazzard County, the HazzardNet and the HN Family I would do anything to keep our family together.

I'll join you in your pledge! Since I have been part of the problem you've heard people say, you're either part of the solution or part of the problem.....I say....if you THINK there's a solution......you're part of the problem! Ha! Ha! ( Nihilism at its best! LOL!)

Okay, the idea of this game is. I'LL post quotes, and the first person to give me the right episode it came from will be the winner no matter how many people post the right answer. I'll keep track of the scores to see how people do. Hope people get involved in this. Here goes the first one.
