Just to follow up, I regularly see examples of bad driving in Ireland. However, the pieces about the cost of getting your license and fuelling/insuring a car are higher here, so maybe people do value their permission to drive more highly than in the US. I've also looked at the Wikipedia List of countries by traffic-related death rate, and while the UK and Ireland have 2.6 and 3.0 deaths respectively per 100,000 inhabitants, the US has 14.2 (figures are from 2021 or 2022). For perspective, nine of the ten highest figures are from Africa and are all over 30.

Season 3 Baa, Baa, White Sheep Abraham Lincoln Hogg (While riding in the General Lee with Luke & Daisy Duke on a bumpy road. Hitting his head on the car's roof.):"I'd rather go over Niagara Falls in a barrel than take another ride on this road!" ๐ Luke:"That's Boss for you. The only good roads in the county are the ones that lead to his properties." ๐ Abraham Lincoln Hogg:"That's my brother!" ๐

A Facebook post. A dramatic illustration showing the heart-stopping moments as the Titanic split in two in the silent night ocean. โด๏ธ๐ Fun Fact: > Although often depicted as breaking apart in films, the truth that the Titanic broke into two pieces was only scientifically proven in 1985 after its wreckage was found on the seabed. (Photo of the ship breaking. Bow underwater separating from the stern.) My comment: It did break up. But it's always depicted as sinking whole in movies pre 1997 James Cameron. Because by '97 we knew for a fact that she broke up, and Cameron portrayed it that way. Movies pre '97 like A Night to Remember (1958) based on the Walter Lord book of the same name were filmed before the wreck was discovered. Nobody knew it broke up in spite of eyewitness who saw it break and said that it did. They were not believed. When the wreck was discovered by Dr. Robert Ballard on 9/1/85, history would change forever what we thought we knew about the Titanic.

More yellow rain warnings in Ireland, but so far it hasn't been that bad where I live. Miserable weather, but no flooding.
