It's against Irish law take a break before playing Tir Na Nog by Celtic Women. It is the only non-American song I could hear a million times and not get tired of.

I'm friends with a family from England who have been here over 25 years. 10 kids in the family. The parents have accents but you can tell they've been here awhile. Only the 2 oldest kids have accents. The oldest hasn't lost it a bit. Sounds much more British than her parents.
-
And I'm just glad Loretta never tried to hide her accent. I wouldn't have been a fan if she did.

I'll take a quick break from Irish artists for this pioneering 1995 Eurodance/dream trance/ambient house track by Italian DJ/composer Robert Miles. Robert Miles - Children The piano melody was sampled in this 2023 track bringing the tune to a new generation. Luckily, this also has a single word title. Shania Twain is one of those not country country singers, who had vocal coaches teach her how to pronounce words.....!! I can promise you Loretta Lynn NEVER had to have someone teach her how to sound country!

And that was a compliment! I love a southern accent. My favorite singers are Charlie Daniels and Loretta Lynn. I always wish the Dukes had accents that were more southern sounding but they probably couldn't find enough actors. Sonny is southern but your accent is way better than his. If I ever moved South I'd have an accent in a few days. It's such a natural relaxed way of talking.

Thanks, Hobie. I've replaced your link with the alternate video. It's from a TV show, but I think they're just miming to the single. The one I posted was on their official YouTube channel, so I'm surprised it didn't work.

While I'm on Irish artists, I couldn't ignore Thin Lizzy. This song was written by the band's frontman Phil Lynott and guitarist Gary Moore about Lynott's newborn daughter. Phil died when I was 15, but I did get to see Limehouse Lizzy, the best known Thin Lizzy tribute act, about 25 years ago. Thin Lizzy - Sarah

Its like I talked to cousin Roger once on the phone and he said I have a deep Southern accent but I told him , " Hey, I don't have the accent, you've got the accent....lol! Remember that one Cousin Roger?

Do I have a British accent? Well, yes I do, but which one? Here's a selection of some of the accents you could hear if you visited the British Isles.

I'm cheating slightly today because the title of this song is a road, but there's no spaces in it. It's a song about an emigrant reminiscing about Tuam in Co. Galway and the road through it. The Saw Doctors - N17
