It turns out that the race weekend is a day early because Sunday is Azerbaijan’s national Remembrance Day, and they didn't want the two events to clash. George Russell looked quick through the practice sessions with Max Verstappen and the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton not far behind. Lando Norris thought the McLarens were off the pace. In the first qualifying session, championship leader Kimi Antonelli hit the wall at turn 1 and will start tomorrow's race in 15th. Williams have finally got the upgrade they've been waiting for and Carlos Sainz will start in 8th. At the flag, George took pole by over 0.8 seconds. Charles was second just 0.001 seconds ahead of Oscar Piastri, who finally found some pace in his McLaren. Isack Hadjar returned after missing three races and took 4th, four places ahead of team mate Max who didn't get a great lap. The qualifying highlights are here.

You normally announce your absences, so I figured it was more likely to be something technical. 😉 As I'm writing this, I've just turned on my TV in time to see the end of 'Road Pirates'. Episodes with dirt bikes always remind me of you, Roger.

I was thinking about a blooper a few days ago and I forgot what it was so I couldn't come here and post it. But it just came back to me. So before I lose it again, without further ado... Here it goes. In the 1979 Season 1 episode Money to Burn Waylon Jennings (The Balladeer) says "Most Hazzard babies was born in Boss's hospital. They grew up an' financed their homes an' cars at Boss's bank. An' in the end, they were laid to rest in one of Boss's caskets. After being overcharged every step along the way." Fast-forward to The Dukes of Hazzard Hazzard in Hollywood (2000) Reunion movie. They were trying to raise money to build a Hazzard Hospital. Wouldn't Boss hospital have been Hazzard Hospital and it already existed? Oops! 😂

Do you know what Raymond Kohn Northeast Ohio Dukes says of The Dukes of Hazzard General Lee? He says "It reminds me of Reese's Cups. You got the Orange wrapper= the exterior paint, the Tan interior and brown dash= the Peanut Butter and Chocolate." 😂

I'm sad that the original Duke Farm is gone. 😢 I wanted to go see the GA filming locations. Now all the incentive of my trip has been taken away. 😢 The main reason to go would've been to see The Dukes of Hazzard's house.
