Ok, so, as you can tell by the title I have some good news and bad news, first the good news!, it my birthday today!, and now the bad news, the gods of fate have decided to send me a stomach bug as a present, hopefully I'll recover quickly so I can get back to the normal life, I've been going through a lot of stress at the moment, so I'll be laid up for a few days watching the Dukes.
    Thanks,
    Joe

Good observation. One thing that amazes me about the Dukes of Hazzard. Despite all the faults and bloopers somehow it is still the greatest television show in the history of our vast Universe.

Now that I think of it, Gandalf does look a bit like a moonshiner.

There are a few chases though so it's not all bad. It would have been a little better if Gandalf had a Dodge Charger instead of a white horse.

I'm sorry for the loss of your Dukes lunch box, I know the feeling when non-dukes fans move all your memorabilia to the worst place possible

I agree Hobie, I can't watch that episode due to the grating voice alone.  I will give the worst episode award to "Strange Visitor to Hazzard". Along with the Coy and Vance episodes, I just pretend it never happened.   In a strange way, I thought that Tom's performance in "Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Duke" was hilarious.

You nearly threw me with the racetrack, Kamryn. The scene you're thinking of is actually when they report to Majestic Studios in the season 7 episode "The Dukes in Hollywood". The Duke cousins are in the front of the General, with Boss and Rosco in the back. The full exchange is:
Bo: Howdy. Name's Bo Duke, this here's my cousin Daisy and my cousin Luke. We're here to help Brock Curtis out with his picture.
Guard: Okay. Who's that in back?
Luke: Unfortunately, they're with us. That's J.D. Hogg and Rosco Coltrane.
Rosco: That's Rosco P. Coltrane, and this is Flash. Say hello.

LOL That sounds like something my dad would do. He reminds me a lot of Uncle Cy Robertson from Duck Dynasty. Believe it or not, I've never owned a credit card. My wife has a couple that she has had since before we met. Nowadays you can't even rent a hotel room without one.

East Anglia (the part of Britain where you'd catch a ferry to see Roth) sometimes gets a reputation for being a bit backward in terms of technology (despite it being home to Lotus Cars). I remember a story told by Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear where he claimed that he tried to use a credit card to pay for fuel somewhere in East Anglia, and the garage owner took the card off him and just put it in the till as if it was money.

I've seen all six movies and there wasn't a single scene where a car jumped anything. Despite that flaw they are pretty good.

If a shop has had it for 2 weeks and can't figure out what's wrong it's time to find a new mechanic. Finding a decent honest mechanic these days isn't easy. The world could sure use a few more Cooter's in it instead of some of the scum that call themselves mechanics.

Yea, it always amazed me how they could do all the things they did with the General and never need to do any body work and still be able to drive him like nothing ever happened! TV land is a great place!

A classic. The story was based on a real-life event that happened to the writer's father. I seem to remember a documentary where he said that his father didn't originally want the story to be used, but had to admit that the final version was funny. Despite being a prop, the chandelier was very expensive, and they only had one, so the director told the stars that if either of them laughed, they'd be sacked!

While we're talking favorite episodes, can I add season 6's "Chain Gang" to the list? In this episode it's not about an iconic scene, but rather a carefully crafted plot with a twist in the tail.

Yes, great stuff, I've got several seasons of Only Fools on DVD, as a longtime Britcom fan (I own about two dozen series). The chandelier is an awesome episode!  Also Friday the 14th....one more favorite episode of mine is "Tea for Three."  I almost choked laughing!

Sorry been away so long folks, been more than overwhelmed with school this year.
Hoss, I grew up outside Boston in the '70's and '80's, and at that time the local PBS station WGBH was the master station for most of what came into North America from the UK. They had a MASSIVE amount of British programming, compared to many other PBS stations at the time, or so I've heard. Despite being staunchly patriotic, I also grew up enjoying more British programming than American, the Dukes being a huge exception. I have a collection of Britcoms (25 complete or near-complete series).
Funny, for a guy who grew up right where the American Revolution started (Lexington/Concord, Bunker Hill, Boston Tea Party all local stuff for me) I sure prefer the TV programming of the enemy our British cousins!

Felix Silla played the Visitor. He also wore the costume for Twiki in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, he was an Ewok in Return of the Jedi, he wore the Lucifer costume in Battlestar Galactica, and was Cousin Itt on The Addams Family.
And that's all the good stuff I have to say about "Strange Visitor to Hazzard". LOL!

It's from a Playstation game and though not perfect, it's probably as close as we'll ever get. You can listen to all the different tracks from the same user. What do think?

If he thinks he's going to take the flag off to make everybody happy he's sadly mistaken.
    I know I'm not happy.
If he replaces it with the American flag he's going to offend a lot of people with anti-American feelings. He must be a hateful person if he doesn't consider their feelings.
Pardon my sarcasm but this is what we're degenerating into.
