You guys need to get on here with me on DOHD and celebrate with me!  Roger, you can celebrate with Buttermilk!   We can all get wild and party on Friday night, the official DOHD !!

Sorry but I have an astronomy event to go to in a place called Clarion Pennsylvania. I'll jump a creek on the way down though just to get in the spirit of DOHD.

Always great to make memories ain’t it? You and your brother will cherish that time forever.

My dad and I went to a few local car shows in our time too, he liked his cars but he really loved art.

He was a painter, he did those paint by numbers kits, and managed to do 50 of em. He gave a lot of em away a few years ago, but the handful he kept are now proudly hanging on my walls.

    Hi Roger,
I was very blessed to have him, and I hope I do him proud. He definitely passed the tradition on to me, and I hope someday I’m blessed enough to do the same, should I be blessed with fatherhood.

You’re not too personal, don’t worry. Actually my name is Thomas, but I shorten it to Tom these days. When I signed up here and thought of a username, I figure Tom Duke has a nice ring to it.

Never realized about the parallel with Tom Wopat, kinda cool as he’s my favourite of the Duke Boys.

Dad instilled a love of cars in me. He used to take me to cruisin' 50's night in high school and when I was little we went to the Harrah's Auto Museum in Sparks, NV on vacation. That was a treat. Dad had dementia for his last years, but my brother and I managed to get him to the Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance and the Petersen Automotive Museum a few years ago. We had a blast, made some great memories, and took lots of photos.

No ketchup or mustard for me. I eat corn dogs the way Boss eats liver....raw. They taste so good I don't want to mask the deliciousness with anything.

Thanks for the warning, Hobie. I was about to appoint Roger as HazzardNet's official tech guy.

If my math is correct, that's 10am my time which is fine with me. I'll be at work, so wouldn't normally have a chance to check HNet mid-morning.

I'm a night owl, so that won't be a problem.
Mid-week it is. How about a Wednesday or Thursday around 2am my time?
It'll probably be sometime this summer.
I have a lot going on right now. Lots of doctor's appointments.
If all goes well, the summer should be pretty quiet. Good time to do the update.

Nice photos, Hoss! Magnum, PI was one of my favorite shows so I was excited to see the Ferrari. A lawyer in my hometown had a 308 in the late 80's. I got to see it often on my drive to school since his practice was right near the high school.

They're virtually unknown over here, and so far I've only seen them at this show. The guy goes by the name 'Cranky Yankee'. I've just checked his Facebook page, and apparently he'll be closer to where I live a couple of times over the summer.

Why Are The British So Eccentric In War? That's the question posed in this video. It tells the story of why you can always make tea in a British tank, and of the soldier who went into battle in Operation Market Garden (the failed attempt to take the bridge in Arnhem as dramatized in the movie 'A Bridge Too Far') with an umbrella.

About three years ago, the All American Car, Truck & Bike Show moved from September to April, and I missed it! Then it seemed to clash with other events, so this is the first time I've been back since 2010. I saw pictures of one of the shows I missed in a magazine, and there was a Hazzard patrol car there. Sadly, it wasn't there this year. The General Lee was also absent, but one of the late arrivals was this yellow Road Runner just like Daisy drove in the early episodes.
NB. I don't know any of the people in the pictures - it was virtually impossible getting shots without someone in the way!

There was also a very clean 1973 Ford F-100 that would have suited Uncle Jesse if it had been white instead of blue, and a white Cadillac convertible that turned out to be a 1965 model (the interior was similar to Boss' even though it was red). Luckily, there were plenty of other cars I hadn't seen before, including this pair of Starsky and Hutch Gran Torinos complete with lights and sirens.

One of my other favorites was this Vanishing Point Challenger.

As well as the burnouts, they also used a pair of big rigs (it was a Mack and Ford for anyone who's interested) to rip a couple of compact cars apart.

I nearly forgot - after seeing people eat them in movies and TV shows for years, I had my first corn dog today. We might have imported McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks etc., but it's the first time I've seen corn dogs for sale over here (the guy selling them was from Minnesota, and he wasn't aware of any other sellers). Now I've got to get me a chili dog and some grits .

Sounds like great fun, Hoss. It's been a long time since I've been to a car show. My dad used to take me a lot when I was younger. And then there were Cruisin' 50's nights every Friday in the summer. Fun times.
