I got some more great pictures of the boars nest, plus the General Lee got to check it all out unfortunately I can’t post the photos as it says the size is too large. @Meadowmufn y'all got your ears on? Should I add them to an external url or my photo album on here? Also big news, big news. Not sure if shared this yet but found myself a girlfriend and she’s actually joined this site. Trying to get her into Hazzard, one jump at a time. Yee Haw!

Enos mentions of couple of unseen Hazzardites in 'Enos Strate to the Top' when he's listing the important crimes he's solved: "All I could put down was rescuing Mrs. Finster's cat from a telephone pole and finding Abner Peabody's long-johns after the hurricane of '72."

Here's a video about a decisive day near the start of World War II. British pilots, along with help from others from Poland, allies and Commonwealth nations, saw off the Luftwaffe and indefinitely postponed the German invasion of Britain. Among the commenters are actor/presenter Nicholas Parsons, former Member of Parliament Tony Benn, "Forces Sweetheart" Dame Vera Lynn, art critic Brian Sewell and comedy writer Jimmy Perry (who co-wrote the much-loved WWII sitcom 'Dad's Army' about the Home Guard). Some of them were young children at the time, and tell how their view of war went from excitement to horror, but also how a lot of mundane activities continued despite everything going on around them. There are also interviews with pilots and the people plotting the battles. This is "World War II: The 13 Hours That Saved Britain". It's 48 minutes long, but well worth it.

We used to take Buttermilk and make biscuits from scratch. You put in the flour, and mix in all the ingredients and some Buttermilk and....WOW! A great tasting biscuit....like sausage and biscuits, etc.....

Same here! That's how I came to like it. In second grade the teacher asked who likes Buttermilk and everybody's like ugh! ...and I was the only one to raise my hand!

No problem Roger, always happy to share. It’s honestly a pretty good place to hang, country music playin, cold beer, (soda if you don’t drink) and some great people. Sounds a lot like Hazzard don’t it? - Tom

  24. I'd never heard of this before. Adrian IV, the only English pope, allegedly gave King Henry II permission to rule the island of Ireland, probably to impose Catholicism on the population. However, it's still debated as to whether the papal decree ever existed.

Do you mean biscuits as in biscuits and gravy, because if you do we don't have them here. They seem to be a US and Canada thing. The nearest we have are scones, which tend to be sweet and often contain dried fruit. What we call biscuits are what you guys call cookies.

When I was growing up in the UK, Heineken's slogan was "Refreshes the parts other beers cannot reach". Apparently they used this from 1973 to 2005. More recently they've been sponsoring international sports like football (soccer), rugby and F1. The F1 adverts have concentrated on the "When You Drive, Never Drink" message. Here's one with ex-F1 driver Sir Jackie Stewart: The newest F1 adverts are for their alcohol-free Heineken 0.0 brand. Sadly, it was announced earlier today that Heineken are cutting 6,000 jobs from their global workforce. People just aren't drinking as much lager as they used to.

Homer the sign painter from Season 4 Goodbye General Lee. He was painting the National Safety Week Commissioner Hogg says Drive Carefully sign when the Dukes was trying to return the General Lee to Hobie Hartkins car lot. Homer is never seen or mentioned anymore after that episode.

In the second photo, you can see more of the bar, including the booths. And in the third shot you can see the stage, where I’ve been told live bands come in from time to time. You can also see this place wears its Hazzard County pride well, with those Dukes Of Hazzard Posters, and even a General Lee 1/18 behind the bar.

Well here we go, this is a start anyways. Thank you to Meadowmufn for the assistance too, in troubleshooting the uploads. Y’all, this is The Boars Nest, located in a pretty little town called Cardinal. It’s got a lot of heart & soul. A lot like Hazzard.

  50. Close enough Roger. 'Every Which Way But Loose'/'Any Which Way You Can' are two of my favorite movies. The actor's name is John Quade. He played Augie Detweiller in 'Hazzard Connection'. The Black Widows must be the most inept biker gang around. Maybe Mel Tillis would've made a better job of running them. Speaking of Mel, 'Smokey And The Bandit II' was on TV over here yesterday, and Mel has a brief appearance as the fairground owner - "Oh, just one more thing. We're closed!". Seeing as no-one seems to remember John Quade I've included a couple of pictures, one from 'Every Which Way But Loose' and one from 'Hazzard Connection' (new question below): I thought that we've had enough of the guest stars for now, so back to regular questions: Q. In 'Duke of Duke', what is the name of the supermarket chain Boss wants to sell Gaylord's land to?.
