2026 Moonshine 400
RogerDuke and 2 others reacted to Garrett Duke for a topic
Feeling the freedom of no one in view, Garrett allows his car to slow a bit to give the powerful engine a rest a bit while resting back into his leather seat. He finally glances into his rear view mirror and his heart skips a beat as he sees Jesse's vehicle come across the curve and into view. Sitting up in his seat he presses the accelerator down forcefully the car jolts forward with increase speed. "Eat my dirt, Jesse," he says aloud with a confident smile.3 points -

Definitely a shocker. So sad to hear that his wife, kids and family have lost him and that millions of his fans will never see him race again. ABC News showed a snippet of his interview after his last race where he said each win was special because you never know when it will be your last. Chilling.3 points -

Keeping his attention on the race, Garrett refuses to fall into everyone's competitive talk and pushes the pedal down farther and a hint of a smile crosses his face at feeling the great power of the engine. Passing Jesse, he gives him a slight respectful nod, before speeding up front. (Sorry y'all I've been away from my computer a bit.)3 points -

For the first time in the race Jesse takes the lead. And the timing couldn't have been better. Emma made it down from Iron Mountain on her back up dirt bike just in time to stop at the intersection to watch the race. And what a sight it was to see her man in the lead on her very own postal dirt bike. She caught the corner of Jesse's eye and distracted him. He looked at her with a big smile and gave her a thumbs up and she blew him a kiss. It was such a distraction that he didn't notice a big rock. He hit it and it threw his bike off to the side and Skipper passed him with the Minnow in tow. Jesse's Yamaha then ran into the dirt where it hit another rock with such force that it catapulted him and the bike into the air and two seconds later, right into the Minnow. Lucky for him and the Yamaha they both landed on the pile of life jackets unharmed but clearly out of the race...... .......or were they? It would be unwise to ever count out crafty and wise Jesse Duke.2 points -

Hobie takes another sip of shine ( you never waste a sip!) LOL! , and he passes everybody with his specially formulated super charged shine .....everybody except Meadow and Daisy ( He's too busy looking at them.....!! ) and then he sees he's going to have to really get it in gear because Garrett and Roger have just about passed him! ( That's when Hobie realizes he should've paid more attention to those two in the locker room before the race.....they were obviously making plans and conspiring to beat him! )2 points -

From cootersplace.com: Our Smoky Mountain journey began in Gatlinburg back in 2002, where so many wonderful memories were made through the years. Later, we brought Cooter’s to nearby Pigeon Forge and continued building something very special with all of you. Now, after nearly a quarter century in the Smokies, we are preparing for our final season there. For the rest of this season, we’re planning a wonderful lineup of events, celebrations, reunions, stories, music, laughter, and memories with the people who helped make The Dukes of Hazzard such a lasting part of American pop culture. We are especially excited to welcome Catherine Bach, Tom Wopat, Byron Cherry, and Jeff Altman during this closing season, along with the wonderful staff here at Cooter’s who have loved and cared for our visitors through the years like family.2 points

Hobie finally sees his chance and he floors it and takes a big swig of his special shine! He's starting to feel it but that's ok....he's passed Meadow, Roger and somebody that....looked like Hoss?? Anyway, he isn't going to let Garrett's surprise move take him out of it! Hobie puts the heel to the steel and passes everybody....but...he's feeling it and starts coughing....and ....his allergies start acting up. He has just passed Garrett ( he owed the guy one for beating him last year! ) He doesn't know how much longer he can hold on to the lead, now that he's got it. ......2 points -

Jesse starts to gain ground on the pack and gets close enough to see Meadowmufn and Hoss ahead of him. He gets excited that he might not finish last after all. But this is the Mooonshine 400. It's not like any other race in the world. Here it is possible to be an old man riding an old lady's Yamaha dirt bike that is normally used to deliver mail and win after a disastrous start. Jesse knew that and his confidence started growing. If a guy pulling a yacht could do this well, so could he. "Only in Hazzard!" he laughed to himself and twisted the throttle as far as it would go.2 points -

I mentioned Morgan Wallen's "I'm the problem" above. Here's a duet he did with Post Malone that's still getting regular plays on the radio over here. "I Ain't Coming Back" starts with the line "I'm a redneck, 'Cause I drink beer and I dip Skoal", and the chorus starts with a variation of "But the night I said, "I'm leavin'", I turned into Richard Petty". Both kinda remind me of HNet in a good way.1 point

I assume you're using your phone to post these. If it's Android and works the same way as mine, follow these steps: 1. Tap the white "Share" arrow under the video. On my phone this brings up a list of places to share the video, e.g. WhatsApp, Messages, Bluetooth etc. 2. Drag this list to the left and my last icon is an ellipsis (three dots) with the word "More" under it. 3. Tap "More" and I then get an option to "Copy URL". Tap this to copy the full youtube.com address rather than the youtu.be address that you normally get. 4. On HazzardNet, paste it into your post and hopefully the video will appear rather than the link. If you're on a regular computer, just copy/paste the full URL from the address bar. NB. Some videos, such as the Formula 1 videos that I post, cannot be embedded, so you'll still have to post them as a link.1 point -

Skipper is coming up on everyone fast. He's determined to win this thing. If he wins, the prize money will help him buy his new boat MINNOW II. He holds his 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 steady as he gains ground on everyone else. "Hello Garrett, Jesse, Hobie" he yells as he passes them up.1 point -

Kyle Busch, two time Cup champ, dies at age 41 | NASCAR OK y'all...I'll be real honest here, but I have never been a Kyle Busch fan. But this really stinks and hurts. So hard to believe that he's gone. I've been in disbelief since I heard about his passing. Despite how I or anyone felt about him, he did have a personality that seemed like he'd be here forever. I know I saw a couple of weeks ago that he had called for medical assistance after the May 10th race. I read last night it was for sinus problems. Didn't think much of it until I saw of his passing yesterday. I really don't know what to say about all of this. Just that it's hard to believe and to accept. So sad for his family, fans, NASCAR...1 point -

The XXX on the Moonshine jug, was the number of times the shine had been run through the still to purify it, so it wouldn't be dangerous to drink. So.....3X.....XXX= three runs through the still! made it safe and it wouldn't blind you. XXX1 point -
