It was a rough January. The weekend is supposed to be bad here on Lake Erie but a major warm up is on the way for the entire eastern US! Yeeehaww!

Well the pre season race was supposed to be this past weekend to give me some relief from my withdrawals, but the dreaded winter put a halt to it as they had to post pone the race due to SNOW! So in turn the race is now tomorrow (Wednesday). Weekend schedule for 2026 Clash at Bowman Gray | NASCAR 12 more days until Daytona!!!!

This can't possibly be right. Nobody ever died while driving in Hazzard. I have to question those numbers. Nobody even got hurt. Fake news.

I wish to draw again but im not sure what to draw........bo maybe......hmmm.......

According to the Wikipedia page for Shérif, fais-moi peur (it's in French), the French theme was sung by Israeli singer Noam (Kaniel) with lyrics by Israeli producer Haim Saban. There's no mention of any backing singers.

I like the French song. It's catchy. Does anybody here know who that guy is in the French version of the theme song? The background singer who goes "ah ooh ah ooh" in between the main singer's words? I like that "ah ooh ah ooh" part.

I found Dukes on TNN in 1996. I was 9. Now I'm 38. That's 30 years ago. Doesn't feel like that long ago for me either.

Well y'all. . .I have been trying to mend my broken heart since Sunday. I may never be the same. Though I have to admit it was nice being on the winning side this year. This is the best season they've had in over a decade. Ben Johnson is the coach the Bears have needed since Lovie Smith. Caleb Williams is one of the best QBs they've had. It has been a fun season...stressful, but fun. Sad it is over, but proud of the team and their never give up attitude. Though with them out... Football is officially over for me. Daytona is 23 more days from now... Onto NASCAR and baseball...

The Baxley Sisters in 'Coy vs. Vance' were also named after the Baxley family who worked on the show. BTW. Another widow gets mentioned in 'Gold Fever'. To get Jesse to open his mouth, Luke says, "This puts me in mind of the time when old Jess was laid up and Widow Campbell stopped by in the middle of the night...". Jesse interrupts him and I don't think we ever find out any more about Widow Campbell's visit!

I think something like 30 people have died so far in Tennessee. NES ( Nashville Electric Service) was not able to keep up with the damage to the lines and a lot of people lost power. Some haven't had any power or heat for right at 2 weeks! The governor is even stepping into it! NES is in some deep... Rhubarb Pie!

I hope everyone's doing OK. Some of the sources I've just checked say the January storms have claimed over 100 lives in the US. Some people here got flooded out of their homes in the recent bad weather, but I didn't see any reports of deaths.

Just to follow up, I regularly see examples of bad driving in Ireland. However, the pieces about the cost of getting your license and fuelling/insuring a car are higher here, so maybe people do value their permission to drive more highly than in the US. I've also looked at the Wikipedia List of countries by traffic-related death rate, and while the UK and Ireland have 2.6 and 3.0 deaths respectively per 100,000 inhabitants, the US has 14.2 (figures are from 2021 or 2022). For perspective, nine of the ten highest figures are from Africa and are all over 30.
