  1. I don't think I've visited either of those sites. www.hazzardonline.com still appears to be available, but there's no trace of www.dukefarm.com. I know of a few other Dukes sites that are still running, but I can also name some that have disappeared over the past decade. HazzardNet may well be the only remaining Dukes forum after cglfc.com shut down about five years ago. I never joined cglfc.com, but I did read posts there from time to time. At the end of the day, it costs money to keep places like HazzardNet alive. We should be thankful that our Supreme Superior Commander is such a dedic

Thanks for the reminder, Roger. I'd forgotten that it was Sadie Hogg Day today. Here's an early bit of my Fan Art.

  4. My favorite episodes are the one where Barney buys the motorcycle with a sidecar for patrols , the haunted house and when Barney buys that junk car from the old swindler lady. Every time those episodes repeat on MeTV I watch them.

  5. I just watched a 2019 episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls where he takes celebrities out into survival situations. This one had actor/comedian Joel McHale. At the beginning McHale jumped into the open window of a wrecker, prompting Bear to mention him being a Dukes of Hazzard fan. Joel responded by mentioning Boss Hogg.....it's always fun to hear Dukes mentioned when not expecting it.

  7. With nothing good on TV last night, I decided to watch 'Blazing Saddles' again. I'd forgotten that Burton Gilliam had one of the lead parts and featured in a DVD extra documentary. Here he is in the movie. It's one of the screengrabs I posted in the Hazzard Square thread, because they used the Warner Brothers Western set which was next to Midwest Street at the time - see all the pictures here.

  8. The actor is Burton Gilliam - his other Dukes appearance was as Tom Colt in 'Double Sting' (minus the mustache). Maintaining the "Colt" connection, he played the Colt gun salesman in 'Back to the Future III'. You may also know him from 'Blazing Saddles' or classic 80s shows like 'Knight Rider', 'The A-Team' or 'The Fall Guy'. Or the Irishman who's always bouncing off the walls? Rick O’Shea! There's actually an Irish radio personality who goes by the pseudonym Rick O'Shea, which reminds me that there's a radio DJ from near here who now works in the UK who uses the name Robin Banks.

Heep.....his Irish counterpart would be called, " Heep O' Trouble! ( How's that one Hoss? ) Kind of like , What's Irish and sits on the back porch all night long?...........Patio Furniture!!

    NASCAR news

To wander briefly off-topic, while I was watching a bit of last night's race there was a commercial for Dr. Pepper Cream Soda. This is the first time I've heard of it, and unless any of the expensive specialist shops here stock it, I doubt that I'll get to try it. I just wanted to know if it was any good as I like Dr. Pepper and cream soda separately. Maybe I'll just mix my own!

Thanks, Spike. I haven't watched any NASCAR races for ages, but had to tune in for a few laps last night. A dirt race is certainly different. I just got to see the end of stage 1 before bed. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. obviously made a good comeback - he was slipping into the mid-teens when I was watching.

She surprised me with an early birthday present....Jon Holland's book Moonrunner's Tale....from grit to gold: How the Dukes was born. I always loved the Georgia episodes and now I will get to learn a lot about how things unfolded before the show even began. This is going to be fun.

  24. I'd have to agree with you, Hobie. After Waylon, none of balladeers in the movies that followed left any lasting impression on me. The only one I really remember at all is Mac Davis in the 'Hazzard in Hollywood' movie because he appeared on screen a few times. Lots of the things Waylon said are worth quoting, but I can't immediately think of a single quote from any of the others.

  27. I may be the only visitor to this great site who actually knew Boss Hogg. Well, in truth I knew Sorrell Booke, who created the character and played him. Sorrell was my best friend's big brother: extremely intelligent, very funny. He was a US Army Counter Intelligence Corps officer. No one I have ever known owned and read more books than Sorrell. He was also a master craftsman who could build anything. And he was really nice. My daughter celebrated her ninth birthday with a group of her girlfriends. Sorrell called her to wish her a happy birthday. Her friends were amazed!

  32. It's from 'Goodbye, General Lee' in season 4. After Rosco tells Boss that he took care of the General, the conversation is: Rosco: Listen, Boss, I want a raise now. I want more than 50% of my 50%. Come back. Boss: I'll give you a raise. I'll give you a 50% raise. I'll give you 50% of 50% of 50%. How about that? Rosco: Well, that's better. I got him just where he wants me.

  33. My Name is Andrew. I am 43 years old. I am also a post 9/11 U.S. Navy Veteran. I served from May 2003 to April of 2007. I loved Dukes of Hazzard since I started watching it at a fairly young age. I loved watching DoH and Three's Company. Please pardon me for bringing up another show. Anyway, I do it my best to live my life by at least one of Uncle Jesse's famous quotes. At least along DoH fans like us. He said, "A stranger is just a friend I have no met yet." I live in Southern California. So out here I have to use tact. of course. Probably more so than I would like. Meaning I wish I did live

When you attempt to silence half of the people in a large nation you shouldn't be surprised that folks get angry. Can you imagine how Jesse would feel if he was here.

  46. In Season 2 Ghost of General Lee, I noticed Boss Hogg's safe in the Boars Nest office disappears and reappears during the scene when Phil and Ernie steal it while Daisy is tied up. It's there, then gone. After it shows them loading it into their stolen pickup truck, it is back again. Then when Luke busts in when him and Bo arrive, after Phil and Ernie leave, and asks her "You alright?" And she says "I am now." The safe is back again.
