  2. Hey y'all. I've been around here and there, just not logged in. Sorry to abandon y'all. I saw my name and it caught my eye. LOL. Thank you for remembering me. Sounds fun! Though I haven't been on my computer as much as I was a year ago, so I may not be able to post as much as before. I'm always ready to extend my winning streak.

  3. I purchased a martin warthog bow a year or so ago. I have been told its in very good condition but was missing some stuff. I picked up the 8 arrow quiver but I had to purchase another old bow to get it but it is the correct one at least. A friend of mine brought me s martin deerslayer sight and I put a new arrow rest on it too. Was wondering if anyone knows exactly what sight was used on the one in the show? I got the 3 pin deerslayer sight on it now and it looks good but I don't think that was the one. Definitely a cool old school wood bow. Just trying to get as close as I can to the one on the show.

  4. Hands up, I know nothing about archery, but I found a discussion about the Dukes of Hazzard bows at www.archerytalk.com. They said, "The original Warthog had a deerslyer [sic] 300 sight on it."

  7. Well I haven't been here in a bit. The business we opened up wound up doing very well but taking up a lot of time as well but it is what it is. Wanted to answer the question that it isn't the one in north Carolina. I live in a small town called Plainville in Georgia, its between Rome and Calhoun. The garage/boars nest im talking about is just outside of Shannon ga towards Kingston Ga. The guy has a General Lee, a 69 F350 cooters tow truck, a daisy jeep and a hazzard patrol car. The garage is awesome and the boars nest is built to the RH side of the garage. Has the correct jukebox and pinball machine as seen from the show. Even has the machine that has the huge bands that Boss Hogg was using to shake the fat away lol. It's really neat how far he has put into it as in detail. He also has a toy section and there is alot of cool stuff there too.

  10. NASCAR is at my favorite track today! It's Bristol, baby! (Darrell Waltrip use to say that.) Anyway, it's a track I've been at. Not for NASCAR, but when the Dukes had their Dukefest there. Those were good times. What to Watch: Bristol | NASCAR NASCAR Cup Series a Bristol Motor Speedway Live Leaderboard, Results, & Updates (Today's starting line up) NASCAR Cup Series Standings & Stats - Official Site Of NASCAR (Standings as of right now) Alex Bowman (#48 Hendrick) will return today after missing four or so races due to vertigo.

  13. I've just checked out their website - luraycaverns.com - and they're very impressive. One thing that confused me - if they were discovered in 1878, why does the tour guide wear an 18th century costume (I'm quoting the video)? That would date from at least 79 years before the caves were discovered!

  15. We went down to our daughter's in Winchester Virginia Thursday (home of Patsy Cline) but didn't really have any plans to do anythjng in particular. We go there at least twice a year and have pretty much done everything in the area but had never been to Luray Caverns. (It is unbelievable!) When we were leaving I remembered that Cooter's was somewhere near there so my daughter looked it up and we were only 7 miles away! We didn't stay long because I was the only person of 6 who was interested but it was incredible. I almost want to call it a spiritual experience but that bothers me a little to use that word since I believe in God but that place is definitely Hazzard Heaven on Earth. I am going to keep an eye on the schedule and go down again next time they have a big event. I hate to travel but who knows what will happen to the place after Ben passes on to Hazzard Heaven so I definitely want to go back for something big. BTW Ben wasn't there. He lives 45 minutes away though. I tried to get some people to join HazzardNet but see they haven't yet. I am still in awe over Cooter's. You would think that you couldn't top something like Luray's Cavern. It is one of the most amazing natural wonders on Earth. But Crazy Cooter pulled it off just a few minutes later.

  23. Awesome, I will look that up and see what it looks like. Just picked up a 4 pin sight from ebay and it looks good but im not sure exactly if that one is it either. They made several different deerslayer sights depending on the year I think. I just picked up another bow from ebay with a different deerslayer sight from the two I have. At least I will have a few to choose from

  25. It was One Armed Bandits. Repo Men was 3rd and Mary Kaye's Baby 4th. But they aired Repo 4th and Mary Kaye's Baby 3rd. Swamp Molly is actually the 2nd CA filmed episode. Luke's Love Story is the first CA episode. But they aired Swamp Molly first.

  26. Hey, I just thought of something! It's not important but I think it would be interesting..... WHAT ARE YOUR DAILY/WEEKLY DOH WATCHING HABITS? I watch TDOH every night when I go to bed until I fall asleep. Sometimes I'll watch it at other times during the night but 99% of the time, it's at night before I go to bed. It calms me and makes me feel good and it's easy to sleep like that. I might watch some a little earlier tonight! So....what are your watching habits?

  27. Rashers are what the Irish call slices of bacon (back, streaky etc.) that you'd have for breakfast, so they're actually mentioned twice in the fillings. Unless it's related to breakfast, bacon in Ireland usually refers to the boiled meat served in dishes such as bacon and cabbage.

  28. That's so cool that you saw the original episode on the first night....even though you were little. I was just thinking.....was Repo men the first episode? I thought it was " One Armed Bandits"....????......just asking....

  30. Back when the show was airing it was so popular that that it caused Friday Night Football attendance to drop across America. Nobody had VCRs so you only had one chance to see it and nobody knew DVDs would be invented. My girlfriend knew that we wouldn't be going out on any Friday night dates!

  32. I was born the day John Schneider turned one week old so we both will be 66 next month. I was in the USMC stationed in North Carolina after getting out of boot camp in South Carolina. A lot of young Marines were talking about it so I watched it in the recreation room. I think it was Repo Men episode but I'm not positive. Been a superfan ever since. I'm glad it came out after boot camp so I can say I actually saw a Georgia episode on the night it debuted. (the ep, not the series). In boot camp we went 3 months without TV, radio, or a telephone. That's so cool that you saw the original episode on the first night....even though you were little.

  35. After a last minute invite, I got to walk in the St Patrick's Day parade today. It's fun being in it, but it does mean that I didn't get to see many of the other participants. Luckily, the weather stayed dry, but it turned cold afterwards. Combine the cold weather with the busy pubs and I decided to delay my Guinness.

  36. I'm thinking that I might try a Guinness today. I mentioned ale above - have you ever tried it, Hobie. I see they sell Smithwick's in 14.9 oz cans in the US.

  37. To be honest, I'm not much of a drinker, and if I have a pint it's likely to be lager or maybe ale. I don't dislike Guinness, and it does taste different here, but I can't remember the last time I had one. My friend likes the 0.0 alcohol-free Guinness which I might try sometime since I usually have my car with me.

  44. I haven't been here in awhile. Life happens and so I quit my job and started my own business. Anyway just recently I was told of a museum close to where I live that was like the Boars Nest. Literally 20 minutes from my house out a little 2 lane road was this awesome spectacle. It is Cooters garage from the California episodes and it is very much tv accurate. To the RH side he has built a screen accurate Boars Nest and when I say it is screen accurate I mean down to the original juke box and pinball machine. Boss's office has the pool table and the big sword fish on the wall. I can't figure out how to post pics on here since I'm just not great with that kinda stuff but I got a clip of the inside of the Boars Nest and several pics of the outside right down to the red Hoggoco gas pumps out front. The guy has a daisy jeep and a patrol car. The general lee is in the paint shop and he also has a Cadillac and a wrecker in the works too. It's hard to explain in words just how awesome this place looks but it is really cool

  45. Of course it counts. Any songs with one word titles are welcome. I've just been concentrating on Irish songs around St Patrick's Day. Incidentally, Abba won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest with 'Waterloo', and Christy Moore wrote 'Lisdoonvarna' for the 1978 contest, but it didn't make it through to represent Ireland.

  46. Well I've got to have my wife at work in McMinnville ( 2 counties over) at 7am tomorrow but I'm still going to indulge in my last three MBI ( Milwaukee's Best Ice). I was just thinking.....back when I was .....a lot less affluent than I am now, I used to buy Heineken a lot. It's my fav. beer...." Drink Heineken and you'll feel fine again!" It's a lot more expensive than domestic and blue collar beer........NOW I buy the MWB Ice a lot and couldn't tell you the last time I bought Heineken! I now understand.....when you have more money, you tend to get tighter...lol! But hey....!! Here's one for you.....to make sure you're not going TOO tight, etc. , when you get your paycheck, etc. take a pre-set amount out for charity and set it aside. Then when you have whatever amount you feel good about, ( mine is $500), send it to a charity. I love children, so my 3 favorites are Shriners children's hospital, March of Dimes and St. Jude's Children's hospital. I alternate between those 3, when I have 500 saved in my charity envelope. Giving is a personal thing, so I'm not trying to tell anybody what to do. I'm just making a suggestion, based on my own life and how I've figured it out, to be giving and know how to balance proper giving and not rationalize my way out of it. ( " Hey! I gave some!") That way I can be generous AND Jewish all at the same time!!! LOL!!

  50. Just spotted this blooper in 'The Runaway' while I was looking through scenes with Daisy's Road Runner to research my latest artistic effort. Bo has to squeeze Daisy's car between the 2 patrol cars, so he hits a ramp and drives on 2 wheels with his side in the air. The in-car shot, however, has the car tilted the other way. I think the studio shot was filmed level, they got John to tilt his head in the correct direction, but titled the camera the wrong way. It reminded me of the blooper in from the James Bond movie 'Diamonds are Forever' (skip to about 4 minutes in). His Mach 1 Mustang enters the alleyway on it's right wheels, and exits on the left.Maybe this was just an undocumented feature of American cars built in 1971 - drive them on 2 wheels, and they'll flip mid stunt .
