So glad that Dukes wasn't a traditional comedy of the 70s and 80s

The makers of M*A*S*H didn't want a canned laughter track, but the network did. In the end they compromised, and had laughter on most scenes, but never in the operating room. When the series was originally shown in the UK, the BBC broadcast it without the laughter track, which is how I prefer to watch it.

Doesn't the DVD offer you a choice?

No! Dukes was meant to be a light hearted show that never got TOO heavy and take the viewer to a happy place for a while, away from the mundane!
