General Lee and the Vehicle stars of the show

Featured Replies

The General was as part of the show as any of the cast. But it was the way the cast interacted with each other that made the show for me. UIncle Jesse's down home wisdom, Boss and Roscoe -well Baoo and Roscoe, Bo and Luke butting heads and being family and all.

And seeing the General take flight in the show....

The most unforgettable, and the biggest part of the dukes that will live on in the famous orange colour with the big 01 on the side doors and the flag on the roof, 1969 dodge charger, the general lee will be around forever.

The Mean Green Machine was in the first show of the fifth season, the guy in the back blew up Coy and Vance's car.

Remember the Line , but I don't which one said off hand now : I prefer My bbq in the back yard, not the front seat.

I think the General (and Daisy Dukes) were probally one of the most reconginzable things about DOH. My grandmma didn't remember anything but that "annoying" car as she said "always blowing that horn!!" she use to laugh because my daddy use to come home every day after school and watch DOH episodes either on TV or VHS. He also use to have the records and toy cars..etc etc. lol. Plus DaisyDukes started a whole new generation of "shorts shorts" lol.

I heard on one of the commatarys from either season 2 or 3 that the General Lee was going to be named after General Robert E Lee's horse. I can't remember the name of the horse right now.

I also heard on that same commatary that Gy Waldren I belive was thinking of using a Trans Am like Burt did in Smokey and the Bandit. Hmmm what do you think if the General was not named the General and if it was a Trans Am instead?

It still would have been the Dukes even if it was an" Orange Gremlin " as John Schneider said once. But I still just can't imagine them using a Trans Am. Jumping in the T-Top instead of the windows?

many factors for me,and none can be replaced without consequences.

The general lee was my first main reason for watching the show. Then it was daisy and the dukes. They fitted so well together, and Jessie was one to have respect for.

The it was the humurous Rosco and boss, without them in the show,it just wouldn't feel right, you know!

Enos was a great addition, loved his innocence and devotion to the law and his honesty to not frame the dukes. Cleatus was great too,I love his caracter and his acting, goofy but good.

This cast looked like they belonged together, and with cooter as their main friend,it compleated the essentials of what this show is all about.

I think it's a since a family. you always knew when you watched the show that you were part of family. The characters on screne and off showed a since of family. You had the two grandfathers: Boss and Uncle Jesse, you had the father: Rosco, then you had the kids: Luke, Bo, Daisy, Enos, Cletus, and Cooter. With them you were always wondering "I wonder what they do now" But it was the family since that brought each actor on the Dukes of Hazzard, close together.
