On Dirty Mo Media's Door Bumper Clear podcast they talked about some Cup series garage rumors. Kaulig Racing and Trackhouse are rumored to be in talks to merge for 2025. Stewart Haas Racing is rumored to dissolve and sell everything, I could see this happening. Gene Haas is spending $$$$$$$$ on F1. Tony Stewart is busy as a team owner and driver in NHRA. That happening would give Andretti Motorsports an easy in road to NASCAR. They were thinking about it a few years ago but the deal fell through. And with the rumor of Cadillac coming to the cup series that would work since F1 voted to not let Andretti Cadillac play in their sandbox.

I think it's still possible that Andretti Cadillac could enter F1 in 2026. There are some upcoming rule changes that come into effect for that season, so F1 was dubious that they could develop a car for the 2025 regulations and then a new car for 2026.

Ricky Stenhouse didn't last long in the all Star race , 2 laps in and Kyle Busch gave him payback for being ran up the track into the wall.

Kyle Larson qualified 5th for the Indy 500 next Sunday.

I am sorry I failed y'all again. I've been busy and now I have a cold. I missed the race and the challenge...and the fight. Though did see a video of the fight after the race. I found it sad that while they were celebrating Joey Logano's win, the camera was too busy showing the fight. Or at least that is what the video I saw was, hopefully it wasn't like that during the race. I'm definitely not a Joey Logano fan, but at the same time, the race should be about the racing and the winning. Not about the fight.  Though did find it funny during the video one of the commentors said that Ricky Stenhouse Jr didn't touch Kyle Busch during the race. Then the other one said that he did and the other guy said yeah he punched him. HA. I'm not a Stenhouse Jr or Kyle Busch fan, but it all shows one thing...Kyle Busch doesn't change much. HA. 

 

Talking of which. Stenhouse Jr got fined $75,000 while two of his crew members got suspended. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. fined $75K for All-Star brawl | NASCAR

Steinhouse says he's going to wreck him on purpose this coming weekend!

I was listening to the Dale Jr podcast today about the race and fight. Dale said Kyle has this smirk he gives when "apologizing" that... He trailed off but the other guy on the podcast said makes you want to punch Kyle in the face  . I've seen the replays and Kyle should have let it go after giving Ricky the one shot on the track, he didn't need to hit him a 2nd time in the same turn. 

Now if Ricky follows through with his threat NASCAR will have no choice but to park him.

That's a dumb move to say out loud like that. Everyone will be watching. Though I believe it was Darrell Waltrip who once said it's the drivers who don't say anything about coming back at the other driver after getting wrecked out that are the ones that you should worry about. He probably worded it way different, but that was the gist of it. We will see if he is right. HA!

Kyle Busch has always been the aggressor in NASCAR. I was so glad when he left Hendrick...I was equally glad Dale Jr was taking his spot. HA. He has calmed down a lot recently, but obviously not completely. 

Ricky should never have said that out loud as NASCAR will be watching. Though I guess they'd add one and one together even if he didn't say anything. NASCAR will park him if he does go through with it. Ask Chase Elliott...

I'm surprised NASCAR didn't suspension him for saying that. Now if he acts on the threat and somebody gets hurt everybody will be blaming NASCAR as much as they blame Stenhouse.

All eyes will be on Stenhouse Jr and Kyle Busch tomorrow night. Kyle is probably loving the attention. I mean he starts it and nothing happens to him. Same song, different verse. 

I hate that NASCAR has become about the fights and wrecks and less about the racing. Even the racing, NASCAR has to have control and their hand in it.  It's definitely heading in the wrong direction.

Talking about the wrong direction, big change may be coming to teams in NASCAR with charters and all that. It sounds like from what I read earlier (I tried finding the article I read on my phone earlier, but couldn't find them, I think these two are similar to it) is that NASCAR wants to limit charters to teams. Right now each team can have 4 cars if they want or can afford it, but they are looking to downsize that to three cars. Of what I read, is that Joe Gibbs Racing and Rick Hendrick Racing (Chase Elliott's team) may be grandfathered in since they already have four cars. And...Tony Stewart is selling all his charters and leaving NASCAR all together.

Y'all want my two cents worth in all this? Well it's a cold day in you know where when Tony Stewart wants out of the sport all together. I can't imagine NASCAR without Smoke in it. I was never a fan of his when he was racing the 20 car, but did grow to like him better when he drove the 14 and wasn't wrecking everyone and cussing everyone out all the time. But even if he didn't cool his jets, it'd still be hard to imagine NASCAR without him. I am sad to see him go and hope he finds success. And for the charters...they better let Hendrick get grandfathered in. I can't imagine Hendrick without four cars. Well he use to be three car team, until Jeff Gordon talked him into getting Jimmie Johnson to race for them. In turn, Rick Hendrick told Jeff Gordon to put his money where his mouth is. So...Gordon owned half of Jimmie Johnson's car. HA!

I can understand your frustration but I suspect NASCAR regards it as a business.....and businesses try to make as much money as possible. If they think more people will be interested in the off track drama than are turned off by it, they will do whatever they can to maximize the publicity. If they think too many people will be turned off by the drama they will minimize it as much as possible. They are likely looking for a happy medium. Too many fights is bad but no off track drama is bad also. That's probably how hockey feels about it too.

Today's Monaco Grand Prix ended up as a pretty dull procession. Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc took pole position at his home race, with championship leader Max Verstappen only able to qualify sixth. Max's team mate, Sergio Perez, was knocked out in the first qualifying session, but started in 16th after the two Haas cars were moved to the back of the grid due to a technical penalty.

The two Haas cars and the Red Bull of Perez were all involved in a crash on the first lap which brought out a red flag. Alpine's Esteban Ocon was also out on the first lap after a collision with his team mate, Pierre Gasly.

Since the red flag allowed all the teams to make their mandatory tire change, most of the race was just about tire management as none of the leaders needed to build a gap for a pit stop. Further down the field there were a few gaps and pit stops, but for the first time I can remember, the top ten finished in the same order they started. Charles Leclerc won his first Monaco Grand Prix for Ferrari with his team mate Carlos Sainz Jr in third. Splitting them was McLaren's Oscar Piastri in second. Off of the podium were McLaren's Lando Norris in fourth, Mercedes' George Russell and Lewis Hamilton in fifth and seventh, and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in sixth.

Carlos Sainz Jr was probably the luckiest driver after a small coming together at the start took him out with a puncture on the first lap, but he was allowed to take the restart in third (his original starting position).

Monaco is a unique track on the F1 calendar with its tight, historic street circuit, but pit stops, crashes and weather usually give us a more exiting race. Let's hope that the Canadian Grand Prix in two weeks will give us more entertainment and maybe even another different winner.

Well they haven't gotten any of my money so that should tell them something. 

Oh wait...maybe that's because I don't have any to give them. LOL. 

I understand all that, but if that's what people want to see then they should watch the demolition derby and wrestling. My opinion of course. HA. They just better keep all the drama away from Elliott and his Hendrick team mates.

Tuesday is when the news will be official about what is happening at SHR. My guess is they sell 2 charters and become a 2 car team again keeping the 4 and 14.

This is interesting since NASCAR decided to call the race last night even though they could have finished the last 150 laps today. Since they did that Kyle Larson is now out of contention for the championship because he didn't make it in time from the delayed Indy 500 to run any laps in the Coke '450' race last night. NASCAR could give him a waiver which they most likely will do, then again maybe they aren't happy he decided to stay and run the rain delayed Indy 500 instead of the Coke '450'.

A lot of the fans in attendance were pissed to because NASCAR execs kept saying the race will be restarted only to call it even though the track was mostly dried. Heck even the journalists were calling NASCAR out on it. Some people on Reddit are saying Fox had a lot to do with NASCAR calling it because it went over the allotted tv schedule.

Due to satellite bookings and worldwide TV schedules, F1 races now have a time frame in which they must be completed, so there are no indefinite delays or carry overs until Monday. Also, the teams are often already packing up their gear while the Champagne is flowing because they have to fly halfway around the world for the next race.

Stewart Haas Racing will cease operations at the end of the 2024 season, sell all charters and all NASCAR related vehicles and tooling. According to rumors 3 of the charters are already spoken for; 1 going to 23XI, 1 to Front Row Motorsports and 1 to Trackhouse Racing. 4th one is still available.

I watched a show about the Isle of Man motorcycle race...wow! They also talked about the Manx language.

What do you guys think? Should we have a thread for non-NASCAR racing? I kinda feel bad talking about dirt bikes and sport bikes and F1 but if you guys are okay with it I don't care. Supercross season is over and the first Motocross race was Saturday.
