Luke nodded a little, though he could hardly believe it himself.

*Present*

"I think that's the only time Uncle Jesse ain't whipped us fer doin' somethin' wrong...I was so scared of his punishments back then..."

Bo admitted, shaking his head a little as he watched the sun starting to set.

"Wasn't the whippin' I was scared of so much," admitted Luke. "Was the thought I disappointed him."

Bo nodded again, sighing.

"There ain't no punishment that can compare to the 4 words that can completly break you in half..."

"Ain't that the truth?" said Luke softly. "I felt awful every time...scared...real scared," he admitted giving his cousin a rare look into his thoughts.

Bo nodded gently, kinda knowing that already. It was nice though that Luke was opening up a little more than was usual for him, but he had grown to notice the different looks in Luke's eyes that would tell him for the most part how Luke was feeling. He knew when Luke was scared, even when he wouldn't show it.

"Yeah...I understand..."

Luke looked at him nodding, managing a half smile. I knew you wold...you always did understand me...even when you could barely talk yaself."

Bo frowned a little, not understanding that.

"Huh?"

Luke frowned. "That made no sense at all...guess I take that back...you don't always understand me...I don't always understand myself..."

Bo shook his head a little, wondering if it was just him hearing Luke talking gibberish or whether his cousin actually was.

"Cousin what on earth are ya talkin' about?"

"Was just thinkin...bout when ya was a baby..." replied Luke softly.

Bo nodded a little, looking to Luke again.

"What about it?"

Seven-year old Luke hid behind the sofa giggling as Bo crawled around in serach of him.

Bo could hear Luke giggling, but his young mind couldn't quite work out where in the world the noise was coming from as he crawled around looking in the most childish places...like behind the plant pot, under the table and under the coffee table in the lounge. Eventually he sat in the middle of the floor, his bottom lip quivering as he whimpered.

Luke heard his whimper and peeked over the couch seeing Bo about ready to cry in the middle of the room and sighed coming out of his hiding spot. "Sok Bo...I didn't leave ya..."

Bo jumped as he saw the movement and heard the noise, looking over, his face instantly changing from being ready to cry to overjoyed that Luke had re appeared, bouncing eagerly as he held his arms up to Luke, making baby noises.

Luke smiled crossing over lifting Bo in his arms and sitting on the sofa with him hugging him gently. "I won't never leave ya for good, Bo."

Bo smiled back at him, bouncing on his knees before becoming fasinated with one of Luke's shirt buttons, reaching out his fingers to play with them.

Luke smiled at the childish awe over his buttons feeling the tugs on his shirt. "Auntie's gonna be mad if ya pull off any more buttons Bo," he warned though he didn't stop him loving to see the smile on Bo's face.

Bo grinned wider as he played with the buttons, burbling happily before pulling back and clapping his hands.

"Uke!"

Luke looked at him. "What?" the baby noise sounding a lot like a word...and not just any word...

Bo looked back at him, big blue eyes shining with happiness as he looked back to the button and once more played with it, pulling back and clapping his hands before saying

"Uke!"

"Luke....say Luke...Luke," coached the dark haired boy.

Bo frowned a little, watching Luke's mouth as he spoke, his mouth moving a little as Luke's did.

"Wuke..."

Luke giggled. "No no no...Luke...Luke..." he tried again not understanding how hard it would be for Bo to make an "l" sound.
