The Dukes Movie came out 21 years ago today

It has been 21 years since the 2005 movie was released. Like many here, I followed the production avidly in 2004-2005. At the time I was a freshman in college. Today I'm 40 years old. LOL I've always had mixed feelings about the movie. While it might have some entertainment value as a movie by itself, it isn't the movie that the Dukes fanbase had hoped for.

It's been discussed a lot on this forum. I too was looking forward to its release, but didn't get to see it immediately. By the time I did, I'd read the reviews. I have it on DVD to complete my collection, but I only paid €0.25 (about $0.29) for it and it hasn't been out of the box for a long time.

It did help by giving a new generation exposure to the Dukes.

There, I said something nice about it. I'm not a fan though. That's the only nice thing I will say.

At least all 4 Dukes were together in the 2005 movie. The reunion movie was the worst. Bo, Luke and Daisy all left a frail dying Uncle Jesse all alone. They completely abandon the ailing family patriarch and moved out of state. How in the world did the writers think that would go over well? Clearly the writers weren't fans of the show.
