January 24Jan 24 Looks like a cold week ahead. Negative 5 last night. Big time snow coming in. Even north Georgia in the bullseye. I called Uncle Jesse on the CB but he already knew, He can predict weather by how the wild critters behave. Post your weather report here. It looks like Hoss is the only one safe from this winter monster.
January 24Jan 24 We've had a miserable few days of rain, but no freezing temperatures for over a week. I think the coldest where I live was about -5C which is 23F. If you had -5F, that's about -20.5C to the rest of the world.

January 27Jan 27 Author The snow is over for the most part. 18 inches. Pretty manageable here on Lake Erie. Super cold the next several days. We have a full tank of propane and a fire in the woodstove so we're good.
January 27Jan 27 There were yellow wind and rain warnings in place here for most of the day, but where I live, we got away lightly. It was just a wet, miserable day with a few heavy showers. A couple of places in Co. Wexford got badly flooded when the river burst its banks.

January 30Jan 30 It's been VERY cold down here in the South Eastern part of the USA...mostly ice....very dangerous! Edited January 30Jan 30 by Hobie Hartkins
January 30Jan 30 Author Going to be the coldest night of the winter. Will end up being well below zero before morning Sun. Maybe even break a record. Not an all time record, but a record for this day. Edited January 30Jan 30 by RogerDuke
January 30Jan 30 More yellow rain warnings in Ireland, but so far it hasn't been that bad where I live. Miserable weather, but no flooding.

February 2Feb 2 I hope everyone's doing OK. Some of the sources I've just checked say the January storms have claimed over 100 lives in the US. Some people here got flooded out of their homes in the recent bad weather, but I didn't see any reports of deaths.

NES ( Nashville Electric Service) was not able to keep up with the damage to the lines and a lot of people lost power. Some haven't had any power or heat for right at 2 weeks! The governor is even stepping into it! NES is in some deep... Rhubarb Pie!

February 4Feb 4 Author It was a rough January. The weekend is supposed to be bad here on Lake Erie but a major warm up is on the way for the entire eastern US! Yeeehaww!
February 7Feb 7 Author Could have wind chills as low as 30 below zero tomorrow. I'm so lucky to have a wood stove in the basement. That way our pipes won't freeze if we lose electric. Supposed to be the coolest day in 3 years.
February 7Feb 7 come on down to the lord's country and you wont have that problem! If it gets 30 degrees, we're concerned! It's unbearable!! Edited February 9Feb 9 by Hobie Hartkins

I don't think I've ever been close to experiencing wind chills of -30F (that's about -34.5C). At least you've got the coolest day of the year to look forward to - cool!
February 8Feb 8 Author Never ended up getting that cold because we never had real high winds. Looks like the big storm is done. Hopefully that will be the last one of the winter but probably not.
