Minor Mentions

[Hobie Hartkins]

I  want  to start mentioning those minor characters or even just the people momentarily named in the show. Roger gave me the idea and I thought it was a good one!

 

1. Earl Looper- anybody remember him? ( I'll put up the info if no one can think of it. )

 

2. Widow Baxley ( I still think they named her, the lady who threw water on Rosco, after director Paul Baxley!

 

* keep going down the list of barely seen or even mentioned  Hazzard citizens or characters.

 

3. Slade......driving a cart with a horse  ......Bo N Luke almost hit him in the General.

 

4. Hortense Bledsoe

 

5. Widow Campbell

Luke:"I bet yer dazzlin' drivin' gave us away. An' if you don't step on it, he's gonna give us a ticket fer illegal parkin'!" 😂

* OK....nobody got Earl Looper.....he was the one who was going  hunting with Bo, and  Bo never showed up for their meeting , because he wrecked his car. Remember, in, " My Son Bo Hogg" ?

Hortense Bledsoe in the Season 5 Coy and Vance episode Dukes Strike it Rich. Boss (To Rosco.):"Listen to this name, Bledsoe. Hortense Bledsoe. If that ain't a rich widow lady, I'll eat my hat!" 😂

The Baxley Sisters in 'Coy vs. Vance' were also named after the Baxley family who worked on the show.

BTW. Another widow gets mentioned in 'Gold Fever'. To get Jesse to open his mouth, Luke says, "This puts me in mind of the time when old Jess was laid up and Widow Campbell stopped by in the middle of the night...". Jesse interrupts him and I don't think we ever find out any more about Widow Campbell's visit!
