Lalo Schifrin composed the theme music for season 1 of Starsky and Hutch. The more familiar 'Gotcha' theme used for season 2 was written by Tom Scott. A reworked version was also used on season 4. The video below is a cool cover by British jazz funk group the James Taylor Quartet. The season 3 theme was written by Mark Snow. All three of these composers also scored several episode, as did Alan Silvestri who wrote a lot of the music for 'CHiPs' (and many movies including 'Back to the Future'). It looks like it was eventually shown in the UK in 1971, but I don't remember ever seeing it in the TV listings, and it's never had a region 2 DVD release. I mentioned 'Dirty Harry' above, but Lalo Schifrin also composed the score for another Clint Eastwood movie, 'Coogan's Bluff'. Anyone who's seen the movie will remember the club scene with Lalo's great parody of late-60's music - 'The Pigeon Toed Orange Peel'. RogerDuke 1 Quote
Meadowmufn Posted Sunday at 07:13 PM Posted Sunday at 07:13 PM Since Rick and Lalo passed on the same day and you folks liked to talk about it, I didn't want Rick's thread to get overrun, so I'm starting this one. Post your favorite Lalo Schifrin music here. Mission: Impossible theme is probably the most memorable of them all. I have the entire soundtrack from the show. Â RogerDuke 1 Quote

I'm not going to argue with that, but can you listen to this without thinking of Steve McQueen in a Highland Green Ford Mustang? Â Quote
Hobie Hartkins Posted Sunday at 08:18 PM Posted Sunday at 08:18 PM I remember the Mission Impossiblr one from when I was 5-7 yrs. old but for the life of me I can't remember the Steve McQueen one! Quote
Meadowmufn Posted Sunday at 09:28 PM Posted Sunday at 09:28 PM The Cool Hand Luke main title was quite memorable as well.  Quote
