What worked for me is that when I started drawing cars is that I started tracing images of cars. Then when I got more used to the shape of cars I would only trace some lines, and then fill in the rest. Until I got more of a feel for drawing cars independently. So I would say that the best advice I have is just to start at a level that you can work at, and work yourself up from there.

Meadowmufn... I drew it lots of times both with and without the crossed flags behind the back windshield. I do it as a 3D image. I start out with the rectangle of the flag on the roof, and then I fill in the rest of the car. In my drawings, the front, back, both doors, the roof, everything is visible the whole complete car.
