Daisy's 1971 (Satellite) and 1974 Roadrunnner colors?
Boss JD Hogg replied to Boss JD Hogg's topic in The HazzardNet Garage
I agree with the 1974 Yellow Blaze. In 1974 there was also Sunfire Yellow but it looks like a dull color and maybe has a slight hint of green. The 1971 Curious Yellow might be the color but it also looks a bit green in some pictures. Bahama Yellow is orange looking. Maybe the 1971 is Top Banana, which is a Barracuda color. They might have just painted the 1971 the same Yellow Blaze color as the 1974. If anyone knows for sure what the 2 cars were painted please post. -
Excellent job Andrew! The chassis looks much better than the MPC chassis. These MPC Dukes kits aren't that detailed. The MPC General Lee is also a very crude kit. I recently built and modified an MPC General Lee kit. http://hazzardnet.com/forums/topic/6049-orange-clunker-car-mpc-general-lee-build-finished/?page=1 I'll have to check out your build thread on ARC. BTW, my user name on ARC is 'crowe-t'

Thanks Spike and RogerDuke! Roger, I agree this is the best show ever. I watch it all the time and have a couple of other Dukes car builds coming up so stay tuned. The next build is inspired by my avatar. I'll take some better pictures of the General Lee soon and post them here. -

The General Lee is all finished! I took some quick pictures but the lighting inside isn't so good today. I'll try to take some better pictures soon. BTW the CB antenna is held on with a magnet so I'll be able to remove it for some pictures. Thanks Roger! Here's a quick picture with the tires and wheels on. I have to spray some clear on the wheels and a few other small details and I'm done. IMG_7535 Small by Michael Scarola, on Flickr -

I know there's room but most of it's taken up with the details that make it look real like the motor. I wasn't planning on putting lights in this anyway so that was never a consideration. I'm just having fun with this build. -

No I'm not adding lights. The problem with adding lights to a 1/25 scale kit like the one I'm building is where to put the battery. If it's in the trunk then some kind of trap door needs to be added often taken away from the realism. The other place to put the battery is under the hood and then that eliminates the engine. -

Thanks Roth! A company called Mad Modeling makes the pre-wired distributors. They are made out of resin. The wires are already attached to the distributor cap. There something like 30 guage electrical wires. The distributor kit comes with a larger diameter black wire that has to be cut into small pieces to make the 'boots' that go on the ends of the yellow wires. It all goes together with super glue. -

The interior is finally mounted onto the chassis and the front suspension is mounted. Still a few small parts to add though. I installed the distributor on the engine with the ignition wires. It's been a while since my last update. Here are a few pictures. I applied Bare Metal Foil to the molding around the windows and the tail lights and installed the CB radio under the dash board. Thanks for the compliment! The front end of the ERTL one is too short. Th Autoworld one seems to be accurately sized. I looked at pictures of Chargers and compared the MPC to a Revell Charger and they are mostly the same size. The Revell Charger is an incredible kit and is much nicer than the MPC. However the Revell's front end is a bit larger and more boxy than it should be and the rear bumper is larger. The front end and rear bumper of the MPC is more accurate. I decided to modify the MPC Charger with Revell parts too see what I can make of it. I'm using the Revell suspension and exhaust which is making it nicer and I re-shaped the rear window which was too small and not shaped right. -

The Autoworld one is a very nice model. You're asking about your 2 models above? I've matched up the MPC Charger with a Revell 69 Charger and they are the same length. Both are accurately scaled. -
