Spike got a reaction from Garrett Duke in NASCAR news
Considering how many Truck and Xfinity races he did along with the Cup series, what he's accomplished isn't much different than the 60's and 70's era, also considering he's in top tier equipment with Gibbs/Toyota racing just like Petty was with Chrysler backing. .He's the reason for the rule that Cup series drivers can enter only 5 truck and xfinity series races. There is no comparison though, I don't think he'd last 5 seasons if even that in Petty era Nascar cars, they were a lot harder to drive than the ones they do now. Kyle's 11th in all time Cup Wins but I can see him making it up to 9th but I don't think he'll surpass Dale Earnhardt sr's 76 wins.
AJ Allmendinger to get back behind the wheel in the Xfinity series for Kaulig racing driving the #10 Camaro https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2019/03/21/a-j-allmendinger-joins-kaulig-racing-for-multiple-xfinity-races/

Spike got a reaction from Skipper Duke in The last 24 hours
Sometimes living in a suburb that allows certain farm animals has its days... Yesterday while going to check the mailbox I seen a black chicken or rooster chasing one of my neighbors into their car . By the time I got back to my place to get my camera it disappeared. We have these condos next to the apartment complex so I'm guessing it came from over there.

I hope it's not too expensive or there'll be something broke behind the wheel as well!

sorry to hear about that! Around here, I wouldn't have a nice car! It's too dangerous....takes people 2 spaces to park, stop lights and stop signs are optional ( if you don't want to stop...don't!), and " I " always have the right of way! They're still arguing about what that mirror ,hanging from the ceiling, over the dashboard is! I can't tell you how many times, people have pulled directly in front of me ! It does keep your reflexes sharp though! You learn not to assume anything! ( e.g. " They see me", " They'll stop!")

I think he does some broadcast stuff for NBC, other than that I think he's enjoying retirement.

Spike reacted to RogerDuke in Yesterday's movies
Okay, I'm a bit embarressed to admit it but I recorded it and watched it last night. The last time I saw it was in the theater. Even then it was reluctantly. At the time it had been out for quite a few weeks and was likely ending its run and I just couldn't resist seeing the General Lee on the big screen.
It is still as stupid as I remember it but there was some highlights, like the General Lee and briefly hearing Waylon's voice. And there were some good laughs. I think my favorite was "We prefer to be called Applachian Americans". I'll probably never see it again and I wish I could compliment it more but it was just bad.....but then again it is unfair to compare it with the original. Everything in the history of movie and TV entertainment is bad by comparison. If I wasn't comparing it to the original I would just call it okay...even better if the language wasn't so bad.

He's pretty good. Best thing to happen to him was Joe Gibbs giving him the boot as that lit a fire under him. I think him, Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson are the best wheelmen in Nascar today.

Y'all know I love my NASCAR and I've been a fan too long to stop now, but NASCAR needs to get their hands out of the car and race and ALLOW the drivers and crews do their jobs...to race. I dont understand why they feel the need to constantly change things and implement new rules when they HAD a great thing to start with. The Chase has put a big dent in it I think and then the illumination segments make it worse and now the stage wins and points? I'm sorry, but they change the whole race outcome by all this. They do add some sort of excitement to it, but it's not all about racing anymore as it once was.
OK my rant is over for now. They have the pre season race "The Clash" on this Sunday at 3 EST on F1.
Y'all hear that? There is a race this weekend! Bet you don't know who's excited...(despite my rant.)

Not really no... The first English word you probably learn here is 'yes'. The second is probably the one which starts with an F...

Spike reacted to HossC in 40 Years of Dukes!
Well done for catching that, Roger, and so close on the heels of HazzardNet's 20th. Admittedly, we didn't get the show until March 3rd in the UK, but I'm happy to celebrate now. I'm pretty sure I saw the first show, or at least one of the Georgia episodes. The first run in the UK was shown at 9pm on a Saturday night, and I was only eight at the time, so I wasn't allowed to watch many of them. Luckily, the broadcaster soon moved the show to something like 5pm, and I could watch every week.
Here's a title card for a new episode over a screengrab from 'One Armed Bandits':

Spike got a reaction from Meadowmufn in Happy 20th Birthday to HazzardNet!
As a latecomer to this site I just want to say Thank You for starting it and keeping it going. I've been a huge DoH fan my whole life and besides the dvd's, this site has taken me back to some good memories watching the Dukes with my dad and Grandpa when they originally aired on Friday nights and Saturday mornings on the local cbs station.

Spike got a reaction from Hobie Hartkins in Byron Cherry
He was mentioned in a recent Bill Engvall podcast that Tom Wopat chatted with Bill on. Bill mentioned how he auditioned for one of the Duke boys replacement cast and Tom told him that Byron got the part thanks to John Schneider putting a good word in for him with the Producers.

It sounds like you have a good plan to fix the problem. I highly recommend Dukes DVDs for medicinal purposes. I think you'll be fine. When you have a string of bad luck things go your way that only means one thing. You are due for a string of good luck things to go your way. Let us know when that happens. This is the season for goodness after all.

That birthday thing is a strange coincidence. I hope you get it. I just found out that my nephew's baby is due on what would have been her (they already know it's a girl) great-grandmother's 100 th birthday. I hope it happens on that day....by the way it's also John Schneider's birthday...April 7.
