Spike reacted to Boss JD Hogg in 'Orange Clunker Car' - MPC General Lee Build - FINISHED
The General Lee is all finished! I took some quick pictures but the lighting inside isn't so good today. I'll try to take some better pictures soon.
BTW the CB antenna is held on with a magnet so I'll be able to remove it for some pictures.

Spike got a reaction from Garrett Duke in YAHOO Fantasy NASCAR
hehe that's pretty cool, just hope the P.C. crowd don't get on him about the flag on the roof.
I've only watched the races that have been on Fox. Don't watch TV enough to warrant spending money on Cable, and even if I did I don't think I'd spring the extra cash for the sports channel package just to watch the races. In years past when the races were on ESPN I'd turn the pc on and find an online stream but after last years Brian France Sprint Cup Circus, especially him giving Kyle Busch the trophy on a silver platter, I've lost a lot of interest in Nascar so I'm just going to catch the remaining races on Fox or NBC which just amounts to 8 if I happen to be home when they are on.

Sadly due to life's circumstances, I have missed most of the races this year. I have been reading up on them...but did watch Talladega and was disappointed with the accidents. I know Talladega is known as the big one and for the accidents, but it got ridiculous. I felt like a lot of them could have been avoided if the drivers used common sense...such as Kurt Busch wrecking Jimmie Johnson. Just lucky no one got hurt.
Anyway...I found this on Facebook and thought of y'all. I know James Best helped Ryan Newman with his animal charities as well as lived down the road from James. And now looks like he owns a General Lee. What a lucky girl to be picked up in The General Lee...;)

That's a cool early picture. You have to take a second look to notice the open door the missing 01.
Here's an update. I painted the black on the tail light panel and sprayed the clear lacquer on the body. In a week or so I'll polish the clear.
Today I made a couple of adjustments to the stance(ride height) and took some pictures with the wheels and tires on one side. It's propped up on the other side.

It's been a while but here is an update. I started painting the wheels. I made pedals and an automatic shifter for the interior. I'll be using a heater under the dash board from a Revell 69 Charger. The engine is a 440 with an automatic like used on the show cars. This model comes with a Hemi engine that was never used on the show. The head rest on the front seat is a set from a Revell 69 Charger.
I started painting the chassis. I painted it mostly like it would be painted at the factory with gray primer in the middle and the body color overspray. I painted the engine compartment and inner front wheel wells as if the car was painted with the front end off.
I painted the body with Testors Custom Lacquer System Hugger Orange and applied the decals. The decals represent how the car looked in the early Georgia episodes. I also painted the headliner inside the body.

I liked Mary-Margaret Humes aka. Tinker from 'Mason Dixon's Girls', although I'll be adding more as I remember them .

HA!!! HA!! HA!!! This sounds just like the place I live in! NOBODY uses turn signals, stop signs and stop lights are optional and nobody even knows rear view mirrors exist! ( They will turn right over in front of you !!)

Hey, don't knock it. I made an apple, a kite, a dead rat, twelve marbles, part of a jews-harp, a piece of blue bottle-glass to look through, a spool cannon, a key that wouldn't unlock anything, a fragment of chalk, a glass stopper of a decanter, a tin soldier, a couple of tadpoles, six fire-crackers, a kitten with only one eye, a brass doorknob, a dog-collar -- but no dog -- the handle of a knife, four pieces of orange-peel, and a dilapidated old window sash out of that deal .

Since enough is never enough, I'm moving on down the road and creating the buildings directly adjacent to the garage- Rhuebottoms General Store and O'Connor's Paint Supply.
Unlike the garage set, these buildings were just facades with very little depth. In fact, O'Connor's Paint Supply was just a front wall attached on one side to a telephone pole type post for stability.
For my model, I'm treating the buildings as 'real' and completing the backs- we saw the back door of Rhuebottoms at least once (using a generic metal shed wall someplace on the Warner lot), so I'll match that. We did see the inside of Rhuebottoms store a couple times (as well as the store room where Boss was stashing stolen fur coats), but I won't be adding interior details like I did with the garage. These buildings are just to add 'atmosphere' next to the garage and provide additional locations for some more model cars, trucks, and my Rhuebottoms delivery van.
I'm using HossC's excellent drawings as my starting point!

Spike reacted to Spike in 2015 NASCAR Race Review and Results
Current 36 race schedule has been used since 2001 though we lost a few great tracks just so other lame tracks could have an extra date, 1999-2000 was 34 races before then it varied 29-32 races a year.
I'm glad Jeff Gordon won @ Martinsville but what Matt Kenseth did was just stupid, glad Nascar parked him for 2 races. This is the first year in a long time where I didn't care to watch all the races, the Chase is such a joke as of late and with Nascar changing the rules every week it feels like watching "Pro" wrestling. Look what they did @ Talladega Greg Biffle was leading and Nascar dragged the caution out till he ran out of fuel then all of the sudden "we're going green this lap" The finish of that race felt like WWE's Royal Rumble match.

Spike reacted to HossC in Lucifer - Amy Creavy's Mustang
I couldn't really do a 2015 makeover of the Double Zero without also doing Amy Creavy's Mustang. I've left off some of the original's chrome parts because I think the all black color scheme looks better.

Spike reacted to HossC in Double Zero Mustang
How time flies! I was going to start this post by saying that I recently posted a picture of an updated General Lee based on a stretched Dodge Challenger. It turns out I actually posted that in May 2014 - you can see it here. Then, completely by chance, I came across mock-ups of modern versions of the Double Zero and Cooter's Camaro at the weekend. You can see them here. Inspired by these pictures, I decided to do my own updated Double Zero based on a 2015 Mustang. I thought it looked better with less chrome than the original, although I did add a ring around the grille. I also toyed with additional fog lights in the grille (similar to the original), but eventually left them out.

Spike reacted to HossC in Double Zero Mustang
After seeing Garrett's recent question about fan fic writing and reading the replies it struck me that my feelings about my fan art aren't much different. Just like the fan fic authors, I also feel the need to revisit old projects now and then with a view to improving them. Sometimes I spot the equivalent of a typo, other times there are whole sections that need to be "rewritten" and parts that need fleshing out with more detail. A few months ago my General Lee artwork got a makeover, and now it's time for the Double Zero.
To be honest, I always thought the color of my original was too bright. I also knew that the rear view needed some work. When I took a second look I was surprised at just how inaccurate my first version had turned out. In the end I replaced well over half of the elements and did some sort of modification (color/shape etc.) to most of the others. The "GT" badge on the front fender is one of only a few components of the original that survived untouched!
I've tried to make this one a more accurate representation of the one that appeared on-screen. The revised color and shape are obvious changes, but I've made some others too:
Aerial added on front fender
Passenger door mirror removed
White lettering on tires removed
Chrome trim around wheel arches removed
Rear bumper guards removed
Rear side marker replaced with correct, body-colored surround
Now that I've updated my 1968 Mustang artwork, I'm sure my next update won't be much of a surprise to y'all .
