Spike got a reaction from RogerDuke in The last 24 hours
I don't know if it's no kill, all I know is it was the only shelter within the tri county area that would take the cat in. Every other place my wife and I contacted are beyond capacity, even the volunteer pet fosters are stretched to their limits as well. Due to a lot of factors, some of it due to a lot of houses in the area being bought up and turned into rentals that don't allow pets so pet surrenders are way up recently. One of the local news stations even did a story on pet surrenders a while back too.

This week reminded me why I prefer the company of animals and plants to people.
One of the resident stray cats is really sick. It usually stayed near other buildings on the property till our new nextdoor neighbor moved in. She puts out wet cat food at night for the strays which drew this one down here. I at first thought it was a cat someone dumped off as that has happened many times before here so I put a notice on a local pet lost and found and everyone said contact the local humane society as they'll have connections with local veterinarians and can get the cat healthy again if possible. So I did that and even though they're full they made an exception because it's really sick and said if we can catch it bring it in. I don't have a live trap but the nextdoor neighbor does. I contacted her since she's been trying to get it to come to her the past few weeks so she can try to get it help. Told her they will take the cat in. At first she was all for it set the trap up and we put food in it. Unfortunately the cat is so skinny it didn't even set the door linkage off the first time it went in there. "Oh well we'll try again tomorrow". We asked a neighbor that lives a few buildings up as she was the T'n'R lady that trapped and got all but 2 cats on the property fixed several years ago. She was going to come down the next day and put fresh food in the trap since she's retired. I've been upfront and honest with the both of them, sending screenshots of the messages from person I was in contact with that the local humane society. The next door neighbor decided she didn't want the cat to get caught because they could euthanize it so she told the other neighbor not to feed it and hid the trap. We didn't find out till we got home and didn't see the trap. I took the trash out and the neighbor that was going to set the trap caught me and told me that the nextdoor neighbor didn't want the cat caught and the reason why. I told her that's fine and the cat is now their problem now and from here on out. The nextdoor neighbor has been avoiding us since the failed trapping attempt which is fine with me as I have nothing to say to her since she couldn't be upfront and honest with me instead of going behind my back and telling the other lady she wasn't going to let it get trapped anymore.
Now I'm training that cat to stay out of my patio by spraying it with water as I don't want it anywhere near me. This cat is so bad off it has a bunch of fly's hovering over it and following it everywhere all the time. We can't have our screens open on our screen door because I don't want my cat to catch whatever it has. Hopefully my "training" works the next few days and it learns not to hang around my front door and patio.
As for the neighbor it's just going to be Hi and Bye from now on. Not going to waste anymore of my breath on her. Wish we would've never bought her the gift card for groceries last month when she was strapped for cash till her next paycheck. As Stone Cold Steve Austin says "Don't Trust Anyone".

Do you know if the shelter is a no kill or a kill shelter? If you don't know you could research it and if it's no kill that may convince them to help catch the poor kitty. That is frustrating and the poor kitty is suffering and needs help and support. I don't blame you. There are people out there worthy of your trust, but there a lot of people out there that isn't worthy. I feel most if not all animals are trust worthy.
I have a water bottle that says Dogs make me happy. People make my head hurt.

It wouldn't be Hazzard County if it wasn't rigged. 😂

Spike reacted to Meadowmufn in RIP Rick Hurst
I was not expecting a punch to the gut today, but here it is. Rick was such a kind man. Made me feel right at home on the reunion sets. We had some great conversations. He loved to talk about his son. He was always a class act whenever we visited him at events.

Currently been battling a sinus infection and it migrated to my chest. Been battling it for 3 weeks now..
Wish it would just take a hike.
On a positive note, I did wake up this morning feeling better but still stuffy in my nose and a bad cough.
Nothing worse than a summer illness y’all

Wonder if the city or county will pay for any damages to the Corolla? Maybe they will repaint it orange and add some numbers to the doors

No lol. Been a busy few weeks. Entered my Pontiac G8 into the local British car show . Got a lot of questions on that lol. Phrase I used most was it's originally an Australian car.
Been getting that patio pots and planting boxes ready since we had a dry weekend. Then got the usual less than 48hr notice that the patio fences will be painted this weekend so no have to move everything to the center of the patio. So after an 11hour workday I get to go home and do more work moving everything.

Sounds like a fun ride. I just looked it up. Looks like a plane from Indiana Jones. Did the pilot have a whip and a cool hat and a fear of snakes?

Last Saturday I took a ride in a 97 year old Ford Tri Motor plane at the Toledo air show. My brother in law has never flown before so we seen that plane was offering rides and signed up. Was an interesting experience, I should have worn earplugs though as it was extremely loud. The airshow was pretty cool aside from the owner of the only P51 Mustang that showed up didn't put it on display after it flew. I really wanted to get close to it to check it out as it's my favorite plane. I got a bad sunburn unfortunately, been dealing with that the past week.
Yesterday we hit the annual neighborhood sale. I scored a mechanic/detailer seat for $5, just needs new wheels and I'm going to put a new seat on it. Scored some star trek books and other things too.

Tough day for me yesterday. The guy who killed my daughter in the head on collision was sentenced. I'd rather not give details but thanks again for all your support. Hard to believe it's been almost 2 years now.
