  1. *accepts fire extinguisher* Thank ya! *sprays fire, puts it out* Ok..who ordered original recipe or extra crispy?? KHEE!! Lisa
  2. Nope, I haven't written it yet. That's one of them ideas that on the back burner. Got a lot of 'em back there come to think of it. It's a wonder I ain't started a grease fire er something. *flames erupt* GAH! Spoke too soon!! ROFL
  3. I've had the sinister idea of brinin' ol' Woody back to Hazzard (ie, he escapes from prison...er gets parolled or something) and all hell breaks loose! ROFL
  4. Ya know, I never realized there wasn't a description because I've seen your Simsified creation of the good doctor and I've had an idea in my head of what she looks like based on that. Now, if I could make a Sims version of MaryAnne....kheehaaa! Lisa
  5. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts but y'all know who my favorite character is. And if ya don't by now, ya ain't been payin' attention!! LOL Rosco tops the list. Followed by Daisy, Cooter, Jesse and Bo. Not neccessarily in that order. LOL. Of course, with Rosco goes Boss n' Lulu and then ya got Flash and then....does General Lee count as a character??? Lisa
  6. Just an' FYI y'all...I've updated the General Rules on the Challenge page. 8)
  7. Kitty, You can write what you want in the story as long as that story starter line actually starts the story. Also please be advised of the submission guidelines (as soon as I update them but they're simliar to the guidelines for dohff.com) Lisa
  8. Rosco and MaryAnne sat in silence for a long spell. MaryAnne looked around the booking room wishing something would look familar to her. Suddenly a commotion could be heard in the hallway, the sound of a whining dog and clicking claws mixed with the sound of somebody trying to slow the dog down.... (Brian? Cully? Having any trouble?? ROFL)
  9. Fargo stood as still as possible, feeling the blade piercing his skin. He gripped Riddick's hand that held the knife trying to keep it pulled back from his neck and held the other arm that was tightly wrapped around his chest. There was no mistaking who was behind him and he spoke through gritted teeth. "C'mon, Riddick...slicing a throat is too messy and if they find me dead in this hick town they'll know you did it. The mechanic's seen me, he knows I've been looking for you. I'm not the first to be coming after you, and I won't be the last..." Allen pulled Riddick's hand as far away from his neck as possible and then kicked a heavy boot back into Riddick's shin, squirming to release the ex-convict's hold on him. (cue Riddick!)
  10. (apologies to Chance for a little character movement...) MaryAnne nodded grimly. "I understand," she said softly and looked at Chance. "You've done everything you can and I thank you for that." Chance nodded and stepped back, leaving Rosco and MaryAnne to themselves, as she went to check on her other patients. Rosco stared down at the gunbelt and badge in his hand and then looked at MaryAnne sadly. *Five percent? Dear Lord, please let her get her memory back....I ain't sure I could take her not knowing any of us. Not knowing me... Almost 30 years worth of memories and she'd know none of it...* MaryAnne could feel Rosco's eyes on her and she looked up at him. He looked absolutely miserable, so much so that it saddened her. She pressed her lips together and pointed with her thumb to the chair next to her. "Have a seat, Sheriff..." Rosco sat down beside her, putting the gunbelt and badge on the chair beside him. He then looked at MaryAnne, who was studying him. "Is there anything?" he asked. "Anything at all that's familar about me, to you?" MaryAnne studied him a moment longer. "Echoes," she said. "I ain't sure if it's because somewhere in the fog of my head right now I remember you...or if it's because where folks have told me you're my cousin, it's my mind 'thinking' it remembers..." She looked away, staring down at the floor. Rosco took a deep breath. "I hope it's because somewhere in there, you can remember me." "Me too," MaryAnne said, without looking up. "Because I ain't so sure I'd like the idea of not knowing who anybody is around here." She lifted her head and then gazed at the tail of the gun belt that was hanging off the chair next to Rosco. "Which is why it's best I not be wearing a badge or carrying a gun right now." Rosco looked at the gun belt and badge for a moment and then turned back to MaryAnne. He sighed and then hesitently reached for her hand. She saw the gesture held back and she turned her palm upward on her knee. Slowly, Rosco took a hold of her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. It was the most he could do at the moment, as words were completely failing him. He hoped the simple gesture would maybe help jump start the return of her memory. (cue anyone! )
  11. Bo gave a nervous smile. "Howdy, uh...up there," he said. Luke smiled too, more or less to try to show that he and Bo were not any threat to Riddick, they only wanted to help. His expression then turned serious as he recognized the cuts and wounds Riddick had. "Don't you think Doc Appleby should treat those cuts? They look kinda deep..." (cue Riddick!)
  12. Ooo....that's an idea for a potential category too, stories based on episodes or some part of an episode. I've often said there's a couple of episodes I would re-write if given the opportunity. Think I'll add that to the category list...
  13. First lemme address the dohff.com guidelines question.... Pretty much the answer is yes. LOL. What I should do is add various things to the "General Rules" section on the challenge page (like the bit about submitting stories that have no punctuation, capitalization, quotation marks or are one great big run on paragraph. Man, I hate those! And yes people still send them to me like that!! ARGH!!) Ok, I'm over it. LOL. Anyway, yeah I sould refine those rules a bit just so that's it clear that it's pretty much the same guidelines as dohff.com On yer other question....what I was thinkin' originally with the time period stuff was strictly within known human history. However, that doesn't mean we can't do like a Fantasy/Mythology/Sci-Fi kinda category too. Oh brother. I can just see this now....Daisy Duke's been kidnapped by the Cardassians and it's up to the rest of the Dukes and the crew of the Enterprise to save her. Gaaaahh.... ROFL. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate Star Trek but...I can't see puttin' those two shows together. LOL. However, I *can* see Sci-Fi'ing the DOH characters a bit if y'all dig what I'm sayin'. So anyway! There ya have it. I'm appreciating the feedback folks, let's keep talkin'. =) Lisa
  14. *sees Brian eating flowers and singing. Decides he's nuts but offers the following lyrics anyway...* "Don't need money....don't take fame...don't need no credit card to ride this train. It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes, but it might just saaaaave yer life.... that's the power of love!" Jax, Pendragon... excellent job on the story. I didn't get to cast a vote before because I hadn't had a moment to read the story through, but I would voted that Hope and Ian be together. So I'm a sucker for happy endings. Khee!
  15. ...standing in the middle of the booking room. MaryAnne was removing her gunbelt. Although Chance had not taken any action to relieve MaryAnne of duty...MaryAnne had decided to relieve herself of duty. Handing the gunbelt and badge to Chance, the doctor would have no choice but to turn them over to the Sheriff. And Rosco had seen the whole thing as he came into the booking room. MaryAnne said nothing as she sat back down. Rosco looked at Chance. (cue the good doctor!)
  16. Thank ya! I hope folks dig it. Yeah, two challenges can be combined together. That's a neat idea.
  17. Good! And yeah, openin' up the topic so folks can post will probably encourage more feedback. LOL
  18. "I suppose anything would help..." Rosco said. "Why don't Cully and I go get 'em?" Brian suggested. "That way you can see MaryAnne first. Seeing all three of us at the same time might be too much for her, and seein' the two of you..." Brian looked back and forth between Cully and Rosco, "I think might just confuse her even more." Cully nodded and looked at Rosco. "He's got a point. I know we're all kin...but, you are closest to her, Rosco." Rosco looked down the hallway for a moment and then back to his cousins. He nodded. "Awright..." "We'll be right back with Bandit," Cully said. "No," Brian said. "Bandit will be right back with us." Cully looked at Brian and saw the young man's grin. "Ya like dogs, Cully?" "Only if they like me..." "Bandit will love ya," Brian said. "C'mon...." Rosco couldn't help his chuckle as we watched his two cousins walk back down the hallway. He then turned back and looked at Daney, giving the young woman a smile. "Thank you," he said. He patted her shoulder and and then walked to the doors of the booking room.
  19. Hi folks! I was just recently made aware that nobody could reply to this topic. (Hey all I did was create the topic, I didn't know the thing defaulted to not letting anyone post to it! EEEK! LOL) Anyway, I've fixed it now so y'all can post replies or questions or whatever. Lisa
  20. Speaking as someone who wears glasses.....since when does wearing glasses qualify somebody as a geek???
  21. Rosco had grabbed a hold of Daney as she came flying down the hall. "Woah...easy now..." He put a gentle hand on her shoulder as she apologized. When she expressed her wish for it to have been her with no memory instead of MaryAnne, Rosco just shook his head. "Now, now...she'll...be awright." If anything it was false bravado. Rosco was scared as hell. Cully tried to offer some encouragement. "Most of what I've read about amnesia, folks get their memory back but it just takes some time. Maybe a few hours, maybe a few days...." "Let's hope it's not *that* long," Brian spoke quietly from behind Cully. Cully glanced back at Brian, silently agreeing. Rosco looked at Daney and glanced down the hall toward the booking room. "Has the doc looked at her? Is it okay if we go in to see her?"
  22. Okay! Here it is!! http://www.dukesofhazzardfanfic.com/Stories/ChallengeFics/index.htm I also left a message on the front page of dohff.com saying for folks to please, please give me feedback and suggestions and whatever else about this concept. Please keep in mind I'll be refinin' this as we go along so your input is important! =) Lisa
  23. MaryAnne looked at the doctor and slowly nodded. "Thank you, doc..." she said softly. Her gaze broke from Chance's and MaryAnne closed her eyes, sighing and opening them again to look down to the floor. She hoped it wouldn't be too long before the memories started to return....
  24. Rosco put an appreciative hand upon Brian's black jacketed shoulder. He gave a nod, agreeing with Brian's statement that MaryAnne's family needed her and also a nod of understanding. Rosco too had faced a cold barrell from MaryAnne once before. Although she didn't have amnesia at the time, the event was unsettling nonetheless. But even more unsettling to Rosco was the idea of MaryAnne never remembering any of them again. It felt almost like a death, compounded by having to look at the same face and hear the same voice but never seeing the same person again. It was possible others in Hazzard would find themselves staring down that same cold barrell. Rosco shivered. "Awright," he said softly. "Let's get over there and figure out how to get her back to her old self again." Both Brian and Cully nodded and the three cousins got into the Grand Prix. Cully turned the car around and drove back into the square. Rosco spotted Chance's black Bronco parked infront of the courthouse and pointed Cully to it. (cue anybody!)
