  1. Also, it's my parents' 57th wedding anniversary that day. They say that the secret to a long marriage is two television sets. LOL

This is the gospel truth!! My wife is always watching The Voice, of The Bachelor, In The Shark Tank!! I can't stand all 3!!....having a little trouble standing now....!!

  2. If it had been a serious show, I would have been offended, because Jefferson Davis Hogg (The president of the Confederacy!), was a crook and Abraham Lincoln Hogg was a good guy, when in actuality, Lincoln was one of, if not THE worst president, we ever had! He wasn't crooked per se, but he was a law breaker, e.g. He didn't follow the Constitution, he pandered to certain groups of people, tried to be a dictator ( WAS one, actually!), etc. The writers of the show were obviously liberal and left! At least they kept it clean but I imagine that was mostly due to Sorrell making them! He told them he didn't want any real violence like people getting shot ( ONE guy got shot in the toe, on Mary Kaye's baby, but no blood and guts stuff!) and no drugs, etc. Even the episode where the Dukes got that pot, instead of a water heater, they didn't glorify it and Boss told them what he thought of dope or drugs!

  3. Haha, maybe they were!

But even when allowing for Coy and Vance (and I do actually seem to be more forgiving of the clone Dukes than many fan), the series really needed a few serious, more solid plots to engage viewers. Both during the C&V stint, and even after Bo and Luke's return. It has to be said that even after the original's return, many of the plots in the last two seasons were not exactly the greatest. In fact, many of them seemed rather child-orientated and not very engaging.

I have to agree, even if their parents were diving in a bus or DRiving a bus...!! Inebria...inebria...drun...messed up again!! :)

  4. I do generally agree, but it was the likes of this and a few other very silly (and somewhat childish) episodes from the final two seasons that contributed to running the show into the ground ("Robot P. Coltrane" is another example that springs to mind, and episodes such as s6's "The Fortune Tellers" are pretty dire too). Sure it's fun to have a wacko episode occasionally, but at a time where viewers were or had deserting the series, especially when considering the Coy and Vance era in season 5, the series needed a few more serious, toughed up storylines to really challenge the Dukes.

I agree! Coy and Vance were an outright mistake though! VERY weak...they all had parents who were killed in some huge car crash and they ALL came to live with good 'ol Uncle Jesse! ( Were they diving a bus or something?)

  5. But Christmas is so far away…my birthday is a lot closer so is Easter haven't gotten anything for Easter in a while but my birthday is in May.

Well, just make sure you're a good girl and make sure you do the little extra stuff around the house, etc. ( You know the routine! :) ) and who knows...dad might get generous!! LOL!!

  6. Let's face it, they couldn't even agree on the spelling of Maybelle's name!

THAT is ridiculous!! There is NO excuse for that!! The last time I took a vote, 4 out 5 people agreed, that Myrtle and Maybelle were two different names!! This just goes to prove my point about the road they lived on, Jesse's wife's name, etc. etc. AND etc.!! I'm gonna go crawl up into my jug o 'shine!!

  7. How about this for a puzzler.?? The road that the Dukes live on was mentioned every now and then and once it was Mill Pond Road ( The one where those hoods were bringing that girl against her will so she wouldn't marry that farmer boy. They asked Maybelle where the Duke farm was...remember?) and then on other episodes it was Old Mill road, etc. I wish a lot of their stuff was tracked better so they hadn't made so many mistakes! Like when Jesse's wife was Martha on one episode and Lovinia on another, along with the boy's aunt being named Lovinia who Jesse hadn't seen in 20 yrs., so he must have 2 sisters BOTH named Lovinia!! :(
