You can see this reply coming a mile off, but I still like it. In 'Go West, Young Dukes', Rufus was apologizing to Thaddeus for finding the discarded playing card on the floor: Rufus: Well, I'm sorry Mr. Hogg, but I didn't know you weren't playing with a full hand. Thaddeus: That's because you ain't playing with a full deck.
A couple of questions for you: 1) When there was a full course caution at Bristol they said some drivers not on the lead lap 'get a lap back' - who gets a lap back and why?. 2) I only get to see highlights of the Sprint Cup race, but I know there's 2 other races over the weekend because Kyle Busch won the sweep. What are the 2 races I don't get to see, and what relevance are they to the points standings?.
I remember seeing a documentary about Montoya's first year in NASCAR - if I remember correctly, he didn't make many friends that year. I'm not saying he didn't hit the back of Johnson's car, just that I'm not sure he could do a lot about it. I've still got to work out the teams. I'm used to team cars being virtually identical, which obviously isn't the case in NASCAR. I know that when British American Tobacco bought an F1 team about 10 years ago (to try to delay the ban on tobacco sponsorship) they wanted to advertise Lucky Strikes on one car and another brand on the other (2 cars per team), but the governing body would not allow different liveries.
I never did get to see the Michigan race, but I managed to get highlights of the Bristol race. That sure is a short track - I almost got dizzy watching it. Up until the 1970s some of the European tracks were huge - the Nürburgring in Germany had a track about 14 miles long. Due to safety issues and TV coverage the current track is much shorter, but you can still go there and pay to drive the old circuit (many motor manufacturers test cars there). As an impartial viewer, I thought the Montoya/Johnson incident was 50/50. After seeing it from about 6 camera angles I'm not sure Montoya had much space to move. It was a shame because Johnson was in a good 3-way battle for the lead before that. Still too soon to pick a favorite driver, but I enjoyed seeing Reutimann racing a double zero car. This not only reminded me of the Mustang from Dukes, but also Dick Dastardly's car from Wacky Races . In F1 the numbers change around from year to year with last year's champion being allocated #1. The only time #0 appears is when last year's champion retires. You'd find it hard to see the numbers though - teams argue that a big number cuts down the space for sponsors' logos. I know that in NASCAR the drivers are known by the car number they drive. I've got another couple of questions which I'll post later in the Q & A thread.
I thought that was a tricky one, but everyone got it right - shows how much I know . Q. In the closing credits, where General Lee is being chased in circles around the trees, which make and model of patrol car is chasing them? A) Dodge Monaco Dodge Polara C) Dodge Coronet D) Plymouth Fury E) Plymouth Satellite F) AMC Matador
Here's a comparison of the gorilla masks. The one on the left is from Trading Places when it was still being worn by Harvey (James Belushi). They're certainly very similar.
Not having the Disney channel, or any kids in the house, this series has passed me by. I've watched the episode on YouTube and I can see why people are finding it hard to identify the voices. What I did notice, when checking it on IMDb, was the number big names that have appeared in it. The Tom/John reunion isn't the only one the show boasts either. Ashley Tisdale was reunited with her 'Suite Life' co-star Brenda Song for one episode (I have seen Suite Life ), and Barry Bostwick has been paired with Rocky Horror co-stars Richard O'Brien and Tim Curry in different episodes. Maybe they'll get one of Caroline Rhea's co-stars from Sabrina if there's another season.
They're fine when you click on them. Just be aware that they're only visble to people who've logged in. To post pictures directly rather than as attachments you'll need to sign up to something like PhotoBucket or Flikr (they're free). Upload your pictures there, then put the IMG code in the post. I try to limit my pictures to about 700 pixels wide so they fit the standard forum width, but larger images can be used.
