Alright ..haven't posted on herre in a bit..... It was great t osee Denny Hamlin win one. I like him and his youthfulness unlike some of the so-called young guns who show nothing but disrespect and want everything handed to them.... Michigan is this weekend....Should be a good race. I have always liked this track.... I'm gone Darrell

Anyone watch the rebirth of ECW on the Sci-Fi channel? The WWE should have left ECW alone. Instead they made it like another WWE program. It was just awful and very disappointing..... The Dudley's promos on TNA saying they should have left it dead and buried were right on the money. I'm gone Darrell

I can't let my kids watch Raw and most of Smackdown (although Smackdown has better overall wrestling) because of the adult content.. I grew up watching wrestling when everything was done IN RING and had real interviews with passion. I am an old school wrestling fan and wish it could go back to days of territories and studio wrestling. Getting excited when a wrestler from a different territory came in for a few matches. I can't satnd the circus like atmosphere that the WWE has now. Changing wrestler's characters and gimmics. Not knowing who is a heel or good guy. Favorite Wrestlers: Ric Flair, The Road Warriors, "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch (that is where I got my screenname from) Favorite Fed: TNA Favorite old Fed: Georgia Championship Wrestling, Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling, WCW - Antyhing that was on WTBS Favortie fued: Flair/Steamboat (probably the BEST matches ever) , Midnight Express/Road Warriors, Freebirds/Von Erichs... Not sure if it is legit or not....... I've seen this posted on the CGLFC forum also. There is no link as to where it came from and that makes me wonder... If it is true remember the saying " Be careful what you wish for " - to all the people who didn't like the movie and wanted Hollywood to make the "right" Dukes movie.. I'm gone Darrell

I love TNA now than when it first started when Vince Russo was booking and writing. Now they are back to real Wrestlin' although I still don't like the 6 sided ring. Sting was what got me back into TNA . But they have some real good wrestlers in their X division - AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels...I loved it hwen he brought Buff Bagwell and Lex Luger. Then the following week Rick Steiner..... I know a lot of people are lokking at TNA as WCW reborn , but it is not. They just need some name recognition to get the promotion up to a national level... Look at who TNA just signed to be their commisioner or whatever they use him as - Jim Cornette. Probably the BEST interview and mic skills in the business and he knows the business better than most people..... I'm gone Darrell

Alright I finally started a wrestling thread.... Who likes wrestling? Favorite wrestler? Favortie fued? Favorite fed? Let's get this started I'm gone Darrell "Snack on danger, dine on death, and dead men don't make money" - The Road Warriors "If you don't like me , BITE me" - Rick Steiner

Finally somone in Hollywood "Gets It"
Capt_Redneck replied to nova64000's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
I don't think Hollywood "Get's It". I think they are just trying squeeze as much money out of the Dukes as possible at this point. Appease the people who disliked the big screen movie with a quick Direct to DVD prequel.. You know the saying " Strike while the iron is hot" kinda deal. I am not sold at all on a Prequel......And definately not sold on the idea of Direct To DVD. That almost certainly means "Low Budget". As far as the movie when it finally comes out , I think many might be disappointed with this one. If they go back in time when they are teenagers like they state where in the world will our beloved General Lee be? After all they didn't get it til their later years accroding to "Happy Birthday, General Lee" ... Again Bo, Luke and Daisy will teenagers. Typical teenagers have "fun" - girls, cars, drinking , being rowdy..We will see how that plays out... If anyone did not like the Big Screen movie , I could care less. So this Direct to DVD prequel will hopefully satisfy those movie critics......Remember the saying " Be careful what you wish for" I'm gone Darrell -
Gotta love"King" Richard Petty. That is the way racin' should be.... http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/5548346 Petty Q&A: 'Sissy' young drivers haven't paid dues / FOX Sports Radio Posted: 19 hours ago The King of NASCAR, Richard Petty, spent some time with Craig Shemon and James Washington on Tuesday. We asked about the war of words between a number of the drivers in today's NASCAR circuit (i.e Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth)... "There wasn't that much media coverage [early in my career]. You didn't have TV's stuck everywhere, reporters, and all this kind of stuff. I think there was less talk and more action at that time. If you didn't like what was going on with somebody else, then you just went up behind the truck and settled the thing and went on down the road." The King went on to add... "Got a lot of these young kids that's been racin' for however long, since they [were] five years old, they come in [and] they've always been, I don't wanna say pampered or anything, but they ain't worked their way through the school of hard-knocks like Bobby [Labonte] or a bunch of us did when we came up. So you got a different mentality. And then these guys come in and if somebody says something to them, they get all upset and all this kind of stuff. I think it's a little sissy more than anything else as far as I'm concerned. If you got trouble with a guy, walk up to him and tell him what your trouble is. If it ain't work, pop him upside the head, and let him pop you, and you go on down the road

Jay Chandrasekhar on a DOH sequel..
Capt_Redneck replied to DesertSpirit's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
The key words that Jay said were "LOW BUDGET" ....... Plus you left out a VERY important part of that interview , talking about his new movie and the Dukes movie.. Is this any different from doing something like DUKES as opposed to the other Broken Lizard movies? Big Hollywood movie – do you come at this with a different take? I think the thing about Warner Bros for me, was for the first time I realized, they really do want to make great movies. They want the movies to be…respectable is probably the wrong term…It’s going to push boundaries and be a little bawdy, but they want it to be good. It’s not just “hey we gotta hit that number†which was our experience at another place. You can talk to these people and they’re really involved in trying to make it good, and I learned that on the DUKES. They were like, “oh, okay, it’s going to cost a little more. Okay, you can have it.†If it was justified, they would say “yeah, you can have it†so in this movie, we actually ended up staying on budget, but more importantly, the movie has been good everyday. I’ve never said “oh, that sucks but we can move on.†I’ve said, “that sucks. We have to fix it.†I'm gone Darrell -

Martinsville today..... Here we go again another round of beatin' and bangin'. These drivers won't forget last week or even last year. They will settle it on the track , short track style. To me this is the best time in racing, short tracks. Back where they came from, the bullrings acrosss the South and America. I love Talladega and Daytona to death , but it is a different style where the car and aero and horsepower is most important. Short tracks require DRIVING and bumpin', remember rubbin' is racin'... I miss North Wilkesboro as a short track NASCRAP droppped. We have 6 short track races now ( Bristol 2, Martinsville 2, Richmond 2 ) and that might drop next year. Rumor has it that Martinsville will drop 1 race and Las Vegas will gets it's second race - Martinsville's fall race in the so-called Chase... Let's keep it sasfe boys Darrell

Just to be aware, you got copies of the movies. They are NOT officially on DVD yet. The quality is NOT going to DVD quality at all. It is someone who is selling bootleg copies for a profit. It would be different if they just traded the show for a blank DVDr , but to actually charge that amount is illegal and immoral. That person will be reported to Ebay for selling illegal copies like that. There are copyright laws that protect the studio and the performers. Nobody is making money except the person selling it. Typical Bristol race..... Gotta love the finish. Although I am NOT a fan of the Keebler Elf, he ran a clean race and did what he had to do to win. Would have been nice if it was Rusty still driving his hot rod though. I am starting to like Kenseth more and more every week. It is about time Kenseth has showed some emotion. Jeff Gordon got what he deserved. He had a few bumps during the race to move drivers out of the way. Particualry #1 Martin Truex Jr when he spun him out. But that was OK for ol' Gordo to do right? BS. When it was done to him what did he do? His usual whine and then a push when Kenseth came to talk and apologize to him. Did Gordo ever go adn try to apologize to Truex or even say it over his radio communications during the race?.....That is exactlly why I am not a fan of his. He does it to others , but when it is done to him he is in the wrong....BS.. Next week at Martinsville , Stewart and Harvick will be battling for the win along with Elliott Sadler. That is my prediction. At least it was safe race I'm gone Darrell

Tragedy in racing today in the IRL
Capt_Redneck replied to Capt_Redneck's topic in General Discussion
I watched the race with a heavy heart. I am sure that all the drivers felt the same way. This was the first IndyCar race that I felt like it didn't matter at all. As in the the world of motor sports , the show must go on. And that is what they did , race.... Darrell -
A very sad and emotional day in the world of auto racing.... 30 year old Indy Car dariver Paul Dana lost his life in a horrific crash at Miami Homestead Speedway in the morning practice session for today's IRL race. I saw the accident on Speed and ESPNews and can't bear to watch something like that. Paul Dana drove for Rahal/Letterman Racing and out of respect and tradition to the family and the sport , they have withdrew their 2 other cars - Buddy Rice and Danica Patrick. This will probably cost them a shot at a championship for missing the race, but it tells what is more important in life. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the team on doing this. I love IndyCar probably more than NASCAR and this just reaffirms where someone's priotrities are. People are more important than the almighty dollar, although I am sure they got their sponsors permission to withdraw their entries. I was so looking forward to see Danica race and hopefully win. There are other races to watch later this year. And let's pray they are all safe. I love racing. I might not like certain drivers and I do get mad when they win. BUT I do not or even wish for something like this to happen in any race or practice session or off-track. Here is a link to an article that was just put on racingone.com http://www.racingone.com/article.asp?artnum=27211 Let's keep it safe today boys........ Darrell
