  1. Sorry Hoss to use the in my song title, but had to use it. LOVE this song too much not to use it. LOL. Great song. My opinion...
  2. Well I can't make up my mind. LOL. I changed the date to 5:00 tomorrow central time. If that doens't work out I may just delete it...might have been a b ad idea.
  3. Well I decided to open a team...been wanting to do so for awhile now...I made it public on Yahoo. but if any of you want to join give me a hallar and I'll send you an invite. Right now I have draft at 8: 45 tonight central time. Only time for today left, but if anyone doesn't want to autopick and that is too late, let me know and I can try to change it for tomorrow. May have to do that anyway if no one tries to join. Just thought I'd give you a last chance...LOL. Roger, are you still somewhat interested if I get enough people to join? I did title my team Chicago Bears '12...woulda made it a Hazzard name if I got anyone interested, but since I didn't get much, I went with a football theme. Feel free to support your Steelers. Just thought I would ask. I changed the time to 8:45 tonight...don't knwo if that will make it better or not
  4. Well I apologize for my slow preview of today's race...shame on me! LOL. The boys are racing at Atlanta today...or Hotlanta as they often call it. This is the race where Jeff Gordon won at last year...though it was raced on Monday due to rain. It is also the race where twenty years ago Jeff Gordon made his first appearance in NASCAR...it was also Richard Petty's last race. Though back then, it was raced on November 15, 1992 - the seasons last race. Back then, it was the season's last race of the season...they had 29 races to their season that year. After today's race we have eleven more races left of the 2012 season...Richmond next week will be the last regular season race. Then Chicagoland after that will be the start of the ten week chase...so depressing that the season is that close to being done. Anyway today's race at Atlanta will start at 6:30 ET on ESPN...here is the top ten starting drivers: 1. Tony Stewart 2. Greg Biffle 3. Kyle Busch 4. Matt Kenseth 5. Jeff Gordon 6. Mark Martin 7. Denny Hamlin 8. Jimmie Johnson 9. Joey Lagono 10. Marcos Ambrose (who had a birthday yesterday...happy b-day Marcos!) Well today's race is crucial for those drivers outside of the top ten...they need to win (sorry to say Gordon is in that category this year...) they need to win today and next week if they are going to get in the chase in two weeks. Right now the drivers 11 -19 in points are going for the wild car slots who are now sitting with Kasey Kahne and Kyle Busch. Talking about Lagono...I should wait til Tuesday to make sure it is accurate, but I have read this morning that his car owner, Joe /JD Gibbs, have said they will be coming forth Tuessday to say Matt Kenseth will be driving Joey Lagono's number 20 car next year. It has been rumored that Kenseth will be going there ever since Kenths has made it known that he is leaving his team he has been with his entire Sprint Cup career with...Roucsh, that he would be going to Gibbs. But Kenseth has been sealed lips about where he is going so it wasn't official. Looks like Tuesday it will be official. It also said Lagono's future is currently up in the air...Gibbs may look into having a fourth car next year (Gibbs only has three right now...Lagono, Hamlin, and Kyle Busch. Car owners are limited to own up to four teams.). Will make sure to put it in the news section once it is made official....just giving y'all a heads up. In case y'all are interested in a little history of NASCAR, here is an article about Richard Petty's last and Jeff Gordon's first race of the season. Richard Petty and Jeff Gordon. Good NASCAR history of the 1992 season finale as well (not just focused on Gordon...)...
  5. Well then...perhaps racing on his home track, will bring David good luck.
  6. Not a problem Roger...perhaps while you are in Georgia next weekend you can go to the race and root Ragen ... your presense at the track may give him the extra boost he needs for a win. Hope you enjoy your trip. No I missed Miranda's music video with Patrick in it...will have to keep an eye open for it. Thanks for the info.
  7. Well the Bristol race has just gotten done with and Denny Hamlin has won his first race at Bristol. Jimmie Johnson came home second. Jeff Gordon came home third. To be honest I only watched the lat half of the race and even that was spotty since I had to drive through some of it and was drafting my football team. Seemed like there was some rubbing going on...including between Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart. THey were going for the lead when Matt and Tony got into to wreck Tony...Tony got mad and threw his helmet at Matt on pit road. Could be wrong, but do see penalities coming to the 14 team for that. Several drivers clinched their chase including Dale Jr, Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson. That is all that I am sure that I knew of. Here is the top ten finishers of the Bristol race: 1. Denny Hamlin 2. Jimmie Johnson 3. Jeff Gordon 4. Brian Vickers 5. Marcos Ambrose 6. Kyle Busch 7. Clint Bowyer 8. Joey Lagano 9. Paul Menard 10. Martin Truex Jr (Dale finished 12, Stewart finished 27, and Ragen finished 32) We are off to Atlanta next Sunday...where Jeff Gordon won last year. Hopefully he can get a wild card slot next week. My opinion of course.
  8. Thanks Brian and i1975 for your imput on my writing. Don't think quitting was a real option for me other than that I didn't know where to go in my writing and saw now where else to go but to quit. And I still don't know what to do with the series or my story unless I start it all over and then I can see several ways I can better the series and hopefully the characters. That is great that someone was able get a story published in a megazine. Never knew that. Too bad life seemed to get in the way of going all the way, but all the same it is great to see talent get recognized like that. Glad you are able to what you love to do Brian and get paid for it. Hoping the best for your career and for your writing career as well. Thanks everyone for the feedback and encouragement.
  9. Humph. Well Roger I aplogize that your team is going through a "slump" and you are worried about not making the wild card. Though do find it hard to feel bad for you too much seeing as how your team was in first place or close to first place and had a chance at the wild card. Meaning they at least played good baseball. My Cubs on the other hand...oh never mind, that's right. They're rebuilding...just as Theo rebuilt the Red Sox. Give the Cubs a couple of years and they'll be winning the World Series just as the Red Sox did. Well this Cubs fan can only hope. Best of luck Roger and K Duke to both of your teams. Hopefully they'll keep the Cardinals out of the post season....
  10. What can I say? You win some, you lose some.
  11. Well the Michigan race has just gotten over and this 24 fan is once again disappointed...more like it, this 24 and 48 fan is disappointed. But that is just me... Mark Martin started from the pole and had the fastest car at the start of the race until Bobby Labonte and Juan Pablo Montoya got into each other that collected then race leader Mark Martin and second place driver, Kasey Kahne and sent Mark Martin into the pit road wall...and hard. Mark Martin's scary wreck What a scary accident and am so glad that Martin and everyone involved was OK after the accident. Tony Stewart was in, out, and back into the garage with HENDRICK engine problems. Later on Jeff Gordon went into the garage with engine problems of his own and was in there for I think around thirty laps or something like that. Earlier Gordon let Jr know his displeasure at him for making it go four wide and then sliding in front of Gordon. Brad Keselowski had another great race and was able to beat Jimmie Johnson out of the pit roads close to the end of the race. Jimmie was later able to pass him with ten laps to go only for his engine to blow with five laps to go. Greg Biffle had passed Keslewski earlier and on the restart was able to hold off Keselowski and Kasey kahne who had a good charge on the final restart. Here is the top ten finishes of the race: 1. Greg Biffle 2. Brad Keselwoski 3. Kasey Kahne 4. Dale Earnhardt Jr 5. Marcos Ambrose 6. Carl Edwards 7. Clint Bowyer 8. Ryan Newman 9. Paul Menard 10. Martin Truex Jr. We are off to one of my favorite races of the season...the night race at Bristol! The one race I look forward to...sadly I will be out of town and will most likely miss it. So I will have to do my write up next week once I return home Monday or Tuesday next week. Sorry for the inconvenience. Just don't forget...Sprint Cup Race will be next Saturday night.
  12. Aww Roger don't give up on David...he may need your support. Perhaps it is just a bad year. Look at Gordon's year...as he is now in the garage thanks to dang engine problems. I am getting to the point where I am no longer surprised when problems him and his team. Very disappointed and frustrated right now. Anyways that is jut me... You have never heard of Landon Cassill? Don't know how you possibly not know who Landon Cassill is...LOL. Perhaps because they never talk about him or show him in the race. Very sad really. He is a good driver with a team with not as much money to run on as the top team has...so he is normally mid pack or lower probably. But do have some info for you...Landon Cassill is from Iowa...actually he is from a town that is a half hour away from where I am from/live. His parents own a car store there by the name...really hope the best for him and his team.
  13. Eh that is OK Roger. I am already in public league as well as in a league with people I work with...just thought it would or could be fun to be start one myself. As i said, it didn't matter either way. Just an idea that I threw out there. As for hockey, most likely. Think that is the sport I have done the best yet...sadly it is the sport I know the least about. HA HA. As for your favorite team playing against your players...I hate that too, but always go for my favorite team over my players in my team...but that is just me.
  14. Thank you i1976 for your helpful advice. I love writing and love the Dukes. That would be a shame not to like them no more. It is depressing or frustrating when muses don't cooperate...a new reproach may help. Hopefully. Thank you.
  15. Football season is soon to be here and if I am to start the league before the season starts will need to know soon. Are you still interested Roger? If not or no one is that is fine too, was just an idea since I assumed I am not the only football fan on the site. It will only be for fun so no money will be needed or is involved. Would be glad to help if anyone doesn't understand or wants to learn more about it. Yahoo makes it pretty easy to understand how it works. As I said, was just an idea and thought I would throw it out there to see who all may or may not be interested.
  16. Well the Sprint Cup Series will be racing at Michigan today at noon on ESPN...and I am really hoping to see Jeff Gordon rebound from last week's disappointing finish. My opinion, of course. This is the track that Dale Jr won at last this year...MICHIGAN. Hope the best for all Hendrick cars (personally) but hope every one of our favorite drivers will have a fun and safe race today. Here is the top ten starting line up for today's race: 1. Mark Martin 2. Carl Edwards 3. Jimmie Johnson 4. Matt Kenseth 5. Kasey Kahne 6. Trevor Bayne 7. Martin Truex Jr 8. Marcos Ambrose 9. Landon Cassill 10. Paul Menard (Jeff Gordon starts 11th, Tony Stewart 14th, Dale Jr 22, and David Ragen 37th today.) LET'S GO RACING BOYS!!!!!
  17. Well I would wish you and your team the best of luck, but don't know if I can do t hat since they are playing my Cubs. GO CUBS!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry once a Cubs fan, always a Cubs fan. They've had a rough year so far and they need all the wins they can get...LOL. Thanks for the update on the standings...just glad the Cubs aren't last any more.
  18. Thank you Mary Anne and Jaded Phoenix for all of your output and advice. It has helped a lot. Mary Anne, you are right. I don't want to quit. I would be lost without having a story to think through to plot through and try to write. I never fully grasped that concept, but have thought of it from time to time in frustration. And a writing exercise on slapping Garrett...he may deserve that and may feel good. Until he slaps me back. HA HA. That is a good idea though. Have tried doing something like that for my writing, but that has been forever. Thanks for the reminder. As for the rewrite...you are exactly right in thinking of what submitted fanfic site it is on and thanks for all your hard work and support. Without you my story would be stuck forever on my computer. Well it is anyway, but at least people have the option to look at it right now. As for the rewite, MA, thanks for addressing that and for opening that option up for me. There is a lot of things in my writing in my series that has been bugging me and I would love to start a new if you don't mind. The past couple weeks or so has had me seeing all the things I would like to redo, things I don't like, and things I feel need to be changes or done differently. And since I tend to be a perfectionist sometimes, they have been bugging me...and ever since the idea of starting the series over again, have been thinking alot of ideas, plots, characters and so forth. But knew of the rule of not rewriting again that you mentioned and felt like I already broke that rule last time I restarted my series, felt like restarting the whole thing wasn't an option. So if you don't mind and if it is OK, I think I will restart my whole series over again with the ideas that I have. Unless that is a problem, and I would understand. Really feel bad for having you do all your work only to redo and undo it all like that and would understand if you don't want to do that. If it is OK, I don't know yet what to do with the other stories in the series, because I do want to use at least the prologue in the first series for an idea of a future story. But if it is all OK with you, will email you when I know what to do or when I have something else to submit. Thanks again Jaded Phoenix and MaryAnne for all your help, support, and advice. It all means a lot to me. Thanks Mary Anne for all you have done to help my writing in the past and for posting my writing on your submitted fanfic site.
  19. Yeah I would be. But don't feel like you have to just because of me. If you did reconsider, right now it may just be me and you. Haven't had anyone else show much interest. Thought of having a Hazzard football league or something like that, but it is all up to you, Roger. Thanks Roger.
  20. Hey there Roger. Missed you as well. Thanks for the message. Hope you are enjoying your new computer. :) *HUGS*

  21. Hey Roger...I got a lap top with that too, but my dad bought me a cordless mouse to use with it. It's great. David Ragen hasn't done much of anything since you left. Sorry to report that Roger. But you have missed my NASCAR news on AJ probably and you missed Jeff Gordon's rain shortened WIN at Pocono a week and a half ago. Also his poor finish yesterday due to oil on the track...errr. You do have some catching up on. LOL. GO CUBS!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I like your comparison of writing and the roads. Very true. Didn't think of sci-fi. Guess you wouldn't exactly know. But have a good imagination. Thanks for the great advice about my story. I think I will take it. Might as well as start a new on my computer and see where it takes me. Obviously my other story is not going to go anywhere in the mean time. No worries about the typos...I probably have a few myself.
  23. Wow Jaded Phoenix...that has got to be frustrating and upsetting to go through all that work and to have people in the writing industry interested in it only for it to be destroyed. Glad you still had the intro that should at least jog your memory, but still, be very frustrating. Glad to hear you are going back to it and t hat you haven't given up on it. I wish you the best of luck with your writing. I use to want to be a writer and still would love to do it, but I haven't gotten very far with any other story outside of any fanfic. Guess I can't get past the part of info I read about write about something you know...well I don't know very much about anything that anyone would be interested in reading about. LOL. I wish you the best of luck. I appreciate your help and will keep it in mind. Am trying to figure it all out and if it is worth it. The idea that keeps popping into my mind is of starting over and having Luke return home where as in my series now, he was already home when I started writing it. Write of them working on The General. Where as in my story the General was already built. Have one story with just the original characters before introducing my own personal characters just to have the time line and all that in order. Where as in my series I start the series with my characters coming to Hazzard. Would still like to use the prologue I used for my first story though of how and why they came to Hazzard. I even have an idea that would go with the first story... But feel if I do that would have to start the series over again. Which I wouldn't mind doing, but don't know if I could since my series is on a submitted fanfic site and I had started it over once before. I appreciate your help Jaded Phoenix and for listening.
  24. YAY Roger is back! So glad you are back Roger so I can tell you just how great the Cubs are and how they are better than your Pirates (just don't look at the Central NL standings or stats...they're lying) and how you should ditch the Pirates for the Cubs. After all, who wouldn't want to be a fan of the greatest team of all of baseball..the CHICAGO CUBS????????????? I can't even begin to imagine why anyone wouldn't want to be a Cubs fan...it's great to be a Cubs fan. You should try it. Well now that I got that out of my system, welcome back Roger. Glad to see you got a new computer or a computer up and running at least. I know I would be lost without my computer...
  25. Well the race has just got over and for the most part was just a race...it got exciting during the last half of the race. Jeff Gordon's car was junk most of the race until they put a spring rubber in and the last ten laps came to life. Tony Stewart in second when he spun out by himself and hit the wall. But the real excitement was at the end when Kyle Busch was leading on the last lap and spun out and then it was between Marcos Ambrose and Brad Keslewoski. Jeff Gordon came in to the tenth place until he hit the wall due to all the oil on the track...NASCK shoulda had that cleaned up instead of going for the checkered flag like that. Gordon came home 21st instead. Am not happy about Jeff Gordon. But am excited that Marcos Ambrose got the win. Here is the top ten finishes of Watkins Glen race: 1. Marcos Ambrose 2. Brad Keselowski 3. Jimmie Johnson 4. Clint Bowyer 5. Sam Hornish Jr 6. Greg Biffle 7. Kyle Busch 8. Matt Kenseth 9. Regan Smith 10. Martin Truex Jr We are back to turning lefts next week at Michigan...Jeff Gordon's favorite track.
