Lori saw Robin and rolled her eyes, knowing why Luke was setting were he set at. She also saw Cooter squirm. When the choir was finished with she stepped down and went to set with Mylinda and Bessie Lou. Luke looked back to her and winked Lori sighed and shook her head. Luke sighed, he'd done it now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ After church was over she saw B.L. and Cooter make a bee line dive for her,:"YOU GOT US WHIPPED TWICE IN ONE NIGHT!!!" Lori looked to them and said,"GETTIN READY T' BE THREE!!! YA'LL HE'S COMING!!" Luther came after them with the bible in the air,"I'll teach ya'll one way or another! everyone in the congregation looked to them confused and walked outside to see Cooter and B.l. and Lori trip over each other trying to escape. Luther stopped at the tow truck and stopped waving the bible,"Just you wait!! Loren Davenport, you'll get it soon enough!!!" Lori stopped her heels were killing her and she looked to B.L and Cooter outta breath,"Fellers I aint goin back!! Id rather rot in the pen than go back to that tyrant!!!" B.L. threw her hand up, as she was panting hard. Everyone in the church yard was looking to them with their heads cocked sideways. Lori returned after Cooter, B.L., Luther, and Dixie had left. She climbed in the Midnight Rider, Luke climbed in with her. "ohh so you choose to ride home with me and not Robin, thats a shocker!" Luke sighed and shook his head saying............

Luke sighed and brushed her hair back,"Yea, it was...are you singing in the choir tomorrow??" Lori sighed,"Yea I have too...not that it bothers me or anything I love to sing and all, but why put me leading the women's side?" Luke smiled and kissed her temple,"Cause yer a good singer, the best voice I've heard." Lori giggled and scooted closer to Luke, rubbing his chest. Luke looked to her and smiled. He then pulled the cover over him and laid his head on hers, soon falling asleep with her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That next morning at the Davenport farm, B.L. Dixie and Cooter got up and was dressed setting in the living room, ready for church. Luther intended to get Lori at church and have a mighty fine sermon fer herself. At the Duke farm Uncle Jesse woke up and made everyone breakfast Lori woke up to find Luke asleep beside her on the couch, she looked to Uncle Jesse who smiled to them. Everyone got up and got dressed. Daisy smiled to Lori as Lori pulled on a yellow sunday dress and her white high-heels. She curled her hair and let it hang down. Luke saw her and winked. Lori blushed. They all made their way to their cars, Uncle Jesse, Bo, and Daisy in his truck. Luke rode with Lori. Lori climbed in with ease and smiled to Luke. On the way to church her and Luke sang amazing grace like him and Uncle Jesse would. They arrived to the church and all walked in together. Lori smiled to Luke and kissed him on the outside of the church sos to show respect. She then walked in and walked to the back, putting the choir robe on. She walked out and saw B.L. and Cooter glare at her, Luther was holding a bible and pointing to her and then to it. She swallowed hard and looked down to her music, the director gave her the chords and she began the solo part, the choir coming in..........

Hey there Jessi, I am truley sorry for your loss, I can say I've been in yer shoes for the most part, My grandma who we lost almost 5 years ago was like my mother to me. My mom could really help you understand more because my grandma treated her about the same way that yer mother treated you. (sorry to be so upfoward and all, this is the best I can put it.) Your best bet though, is to grieve because if not it'll hurt you worser -speaking here from my mom- she said that if you didnt you'd regret it later.. she said it would hit you all at once and it would hurt you worser. Like RogerDuke said sometimes you don't always need to go to a human being for comfort, go to an animal or heck, this may sound weird, but a picture of her or something. the best animal i've ever comforted to was my horse they do seem to listen and understand. once again real sorry for yer loss and my prayers are with you. Keep it tween the Ditches!

Lori sneezed before speaking, Luke took back his handkercheif and let her blow her nose,"Uncle Jesse, I ain't got no choice, daddys sick and he needs the money, its all me and my sister and brother can do to help him pay for the doctor bills, Taylor works at the cafe, Jeet works up in Kentucky in the coal mines, I'm the only one brave enough to run shine... I ain't afraid o' the law." Luke rubbed her back and let her lay in his arms to warm up. Uncle Jesse sat down in the red recliner and nodded,"I see.... you'll start t' be afraid when they catch ya.... theres more ways than that t' scrounge up the money t' help yer daddy Lori, ya gotta look hard enough." Lori nodded,"I know that... im using my great-great grandpa's recipe, Luke here had to approve of it first." Luke snorted and tapped her back a little. Lori looked to him and grinned evily,"Well. ya did!" Uncle Jesse chuckled a little,"I see....I also here yer runnin to MY customers too?" Lori sighed,"Well they aint my customers, I only run it for Boss... reckon you member that don't ya?" Uncle Jesse nodded,"Considerin' I was the one who got you outta trouble, yea." Luke looked confused,"I don't know...I wanna know!!" Lori laughed and began." Well, ya see when I was 15 I use t' run shine fer Uncle Jesse, course now I wasn't able t' drive.. SO I used a horse, my horse, Trigger." Luke humphed,"You have a horse??" Lori giggled,"Yea, up at ole' Tolliver's farm." Luke nodded, Lori continued,"Figurin usin a horse would be better get t' all the good ole hidin spots sos the law wouldn't catch ya...well Boss Hogg was havin Rosco make his daily runs out and about.. They saw Trigger jump at the sight of one of the moonshine steeles and Rosco stopped and caught me deliverin moonshine to Hobie Hartkins.... Rosco took me bout the time Uncle Jesse was there, and Uncle Jesse and Boss wavered, daddy had gotten sick at them time and I needed the money so Boss made me a deal that if I ran fer him and not Jesse, he'd split the profits with me 50/50 and he's been honest bout it so far, I couldn't stop makin shine after awhile, Boss threatened me that if I did, he'd call the state on me...fellas I dont feel like going to the state either." Luke sighed and said,"So thats how Boss comes into the picture, Uncle Jesse knew all this time, and you never thought to tell me?" Lori sighed,"Well...Im sorry.." Luke kissed her forehead and laid his head on hers. "Uncle Jesse, we can have her run with us, there'd me enough money if she helped me and Bo make it and delievered it." Uncle Jesse nodded and said,"Yea... well she's helped me in more ways than one...if I denied her, which I can't, that'd be like denying my own child!" Lori laughed and saw Uncle Jesse get up,"Now I reckon I can trust you two t' set up and talk, and no go and do something foolish.. jus go t' bed here real soon, Sunday mornin church comes early." Lori and Luke nodded and said in unison,"Yes'sir." Lori sung in the church choir, she always head since she was little. Lori looked up to Luke who was looking back to her smiling. Luke said........... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile, B.L. and Cooter were on their way to go and find Lori when Rosco was still out and about and had saw the two speeding by. H eknew Luther would just be tickeled pink to see him drag them two home. Rosco turned his lights on and went after them. He finally stopped them at a crossroads and got on the CB to Luther,"Calling Luther Davenport, this heres Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane ya got yer ears on??" Luther hearing the late night call slinked out of bed and got to his feet to go to the kitchen CB. when he arrived and said,"This heres Luther Davenport." B.L. and Cooter shook with fear Cooter glaring at B.L.,"Great job Cousin!! ya got us caught!! you and yer hairbrained idears!!!" B.L. made face at him as they heard Luther get severely pissed and slammed the CB. Rosco returned them home, meeting Luther at the front porch........

Lori rolled her eyes and snorted,"Glad it approves to yer likin darlin!!, have you know that was my great-great-great grandpa's recipe!!" Luke chuckled a little bit and put the moonshine back in the crate. Lori looked to him and humphed him,"Wrong person my a--, I've been deliverin' fer the past year!!" Luke's mouth dropped to the ground. Lori smacked herself and cursed. Luke looked to her and said,"You are aware when Luther finds out, I wont even have a girlfriend?!" Lori swallowed hard and nodded, the first person that the adults had to tell, that she wanted to was Uncle Jesse. Lori sighed and said,"Reckon we bes go?" Luke sighed and looked tup to the sky, the moon was full and overhead. Luke hugged her one time and kissed her,"Might be the last I get to see you." Lori laughed a bit,"If I can help it, it wont be." Luke chuckled and kissed her one more time, getting in his car her's in her's and they both sped off. With even that much moonshine in the back of their cars if Rosco found them he'd lock em' away for sure, well least he would Lori and not Luke. Lori sped on past uncle Jesse's were he saw Uncle Jesse outside watching her pass on. Luke got out and looked to Uncle Jesse and said,"She caught me...and I caught her." Uncle Jesse,"I knew her papa was sick, but soo sick he has to endanger her own hide?" Luke sighed and scratched his head,"I just want her to be safe Uncle Jesse, if Rosco catches her that's it, I wont see her no more." Uncle Jesse sighed,"I know it son, but I reckon if she's been runnin it this long she aint got caught yet, she'll be ok." Luke walked in and headed straight for bed. Uncle Jesse silently prayed for Lori. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Luther was out with his rifle and had shouted,"Cooter and Brandy Lou Davenport!!! git yer hides over here now!!! don't hide from me you WILL get shot!!!" B.L. swallowed as did Cooter, they stepped out in sight with their hands up. They walked to the porch were Luther then proceeded to take his belt off and whip them right then and there. "THE WOODSHED AIN'T BIG ENOUGH T' HOLD BOTH OF YA, LET ALONG ALL THREE OF YA WHEN LORI GETS HERE!!!!" B.L. rubbed her rear end as she looked down the drive seeing Midnight Rider pull up. ~~~~~~~~~ When Lori climbed out, Luther went out and popped her trunk...What he found was a sight and a half. He grew red with anger and shook with fear, he had a death grip on the rifle. B.L. looked to Cooter, her eyes wide as Luther said through gritted teeth,"B.L., Cooter git in that house and stay!" Lori was shaking with fear as Luther ripped into her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After his rant Luther did something Lori never thought she would ever hear him say,"Im givin' you 5 mintues t' get yer things for I call the state MYSELF!! This is rediculous, I raised you better!!!! I ian't gonna have this stuff around or in my house!!! now just git!!!" Lori ran in the hoouse, tripping over everything, B.L. looked to Cooter and ran to Lori's room,"Lori?!! what happened whats wrong??" Lori looked to them and as she was about to leave,"Uncle Luther kicked me out I gotta go I aint goin to the state pen fellers!!!" Lori ran out of the room before they could say anything to her. Luther saw her and she tossed the couple small suitcases in the car and climbed in speeding away before he had a chance to shoot her. Luther walked in and everyone stared at him, B.L. broke the silence with tears of anger,"Why?? How could you?!!!!!" Luther was already pissed to no end and he screamed at them all, they flew to their bedrooms and never spoke a word. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Lori made her way to the Duke farm, Uncle Jesse knew she'd be there, he laid in his bed as he knew the first place she'd head would be to Luke and Bo's winder. Lori looked around and pecked on their window, Luke stirred a little to see Lori standing outside in the cold, with no jacket on -the dummy- looking to him with tears falling from her eyes. Luke in his boxers got up and opened the window..............

Luke sighed and headed for Luther's farm, he pulled in out of sight and let the two out, he then proceeded to go and meet Lori at the edge of the pines." Lori smiled when she saw him pull up, He got out and looked to her,"Lori, if you don't get home you'll be trippin in high cotton." Lori shrugged and wrapped her arms around him,"I dont care anymore Luke, ti seems since I got over my problems and stuff our uncle's have been on us like a fly to a cow pile." Luke sighed and said..........

Lori flew mad,"WHEN UNCLE LUTHER FINDS OUT YOU AND COOTRER BOTH HAVE BEEN RUNNIN," she quietend down,"Shine, YOU wont know which way is left or right!" Luke looked to Lori and put his finger to her lips hushing her. "Lokk if any of them finds out we ALL will be screwed, sides Uncle Jesse, if he finds out you lied to him Lor, he'll beat you black and blue." Lori sighed and nodded,"I know that."

Lori went back and got the rest of the crates of moonshine taking the money and setting on the hood of the Midnight Rider,"Welp ya'll done caught me now, look its a long story...wait a mintue what am I doing here what in the he-- are you doing here??" Luke snorted and said,"Well, same thing yer doing apparently." Lori swallowed and told them the story. Luke nodded and said,"Why wouldn't you tell us?" Lori sighed,"Cause if Boss finds out, im screwed is why." Luke.................... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Luther walked in seeing no one home, cept fer Dixie who was home ALONE!! Luther got mad and decided he get all three of them when they headed through that door.

Andy quickly got his self pulled together, truth was he really liked B.L. she was "talented" . He got in his vehicle and pulled out to go to her house. ~~~~~~ Luke chuckled softly and said,"Hey baby, why don't ya come by the house this evening,I have to run some Errands for Uncle Jesse tonight so come by the house?" Lori was about to speak when B.L. cam through the doors with tears of anger in her eyes. Lori sighed and said,"Andys done something to B.L. I can't hot stuff, well not right now, maybe I can catch ya for I leave tonight too?" Luke sighed and said,"Alright then, sounds good...love ya darlin." Lori smiled,"Love you too hot stuff, bye." Luke chuckled he loved it when she called him hot stuff. He hung up and sighed. ~~~~~~~~~ B.L. charged off to her room, Lori following in behind. "B, whats wrong?" B.L. started crying more and looked away,"Just go away Lori!!" Lori sighed and sat beside of B.L.,"Darlin, what did he do to you??" Lori took note of the ripped sleeve and got mad. B.L. looked up to her with tears through her eyes,"He cheated on me with Hailey Marie Henderson, and he slept with her, he was drunk." Lori rubbed her back, Cooter noticed the sleeve and went into her room, Lori pointed to the tow truck and Midnight Rider telling him to wait. Cooter nodded and headed out. Lori looked to B.L. and said,"Well now, you let me handle Hailey and Andy and I'll be back ok?" B.L. sighed, she didnt care. Lori nodded and ran outside and climbed in the Midnight Rider, pulling out. Lori and Cooter saw him and they skidded in front of him to a hault an got out. Lori and Cooter both picked him up cussing him out, literally beating him to death, Lori breathed in deeply,"You tell that bi--- Hailey Ill be after her next! that aint no threat it IS a promise!!!" Lori and Cootr got back in and headed to the farm. When they got there Lori walked in to see B.L. amazingly still crying, Lori sighed and plopped beside her,"Well, that takes care of him... sweetheart ya can't be too tore up over a pri-- like that." B.L. sighed,"He was my first though." Lori looked to B.L.,"Well darlin, you jumped the gun too soon, I waited to finally be with Luke, He IS the special one for me, Look it'll take you awhile to find HIM, once ya do... you'll feel on cloud 9." B.L. smirked and said,"Yea... I wanna feel like you did last night!" Lori smacked B.L. in th eback of the head,"Hush that now! we won't have no vulgar language in this house!" Lori said sarcastically speaking. B.L. laughed and got up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lori headed off to the Osage county line with her moonshine delivery, She got there and the fog was rolling in. When she was talking to her buddy, Joel. Luke and Cooter and B.L. pulled up seeing her talking and handing a crate of moonshine over to him, Lori was caught like a deer in the headlights. Lori's eyes got wide,"Uh oh." Uncle Jesse nodded,"Hes keping an eye on Luke, says Ernie didn't even start the fight and whatnot, Luke says he started on you?" Lori looked down and nodded,"Yes sir, Ernie called me some names and Luke stood up for me." Uncle Jesse lookedto her and Luke and said firmly,"Now listen, ya'll use to have a curfew, I extended it last night cause I thought you were responsible enough to handle it, parently i was wrong, I don't want ya'll to be out no later than 11:30 anymore!!" Lori looked to Luke,"Yes'sir, Well uhh Uncle Jesse, I got some errands to run tonight, can't ya let me by one time?" Uncle Jesse knew something was up,"What kind a errands?" Lori sighed and said," Just some communtiy work Boss has me doing." Uncle Jesse knew it was alie but agreed sending her on her way. Luke went back to chopping wood, he knew Lori was up to something, they all did. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lori got home and went straight in the house looking around, Luther was at the garage, good.B.L. must have been with Andy she was gone, Dixie was out helping Cooter. Lori made her way to get the keys to the lock on her steele sight that she had made in the woods behind their house, no one went back there cept fer her, she was the only that knew. She got the crates and things and ran to the back. When she was in the backwoods, she made at least 2 crates full, that'd be at least a good 100 or so bucks. Moonshine runnin fer Boss Hogg was a little steeply priced when she could make moonshine like Uncle Jesse, only Uncle Jesse's was better. Lori carried the crates to Midnight Rider, Dixie spotted her yelling,"What are you doing Lori??" Lori stopped dead and shook her head,"Runnin some money to Boss." Dixie looked confused as did Cooter, but they continued to work. Lori got back in and pulled out. Lori had to run her moonshine secretly tonight. Luke was making delieveries as well, Cooter had promised to help him, as did B.L. Lori drove through town cautiously sos not to get caught, she ran the money into Boss, Boss wrote it down and told her to make at least another 2 loads. Lori sighed and agreed heading out. She climbed in and avoided the garage. She then returned home to find Cooter and Dixie looking at her sternly..... ~~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile at the Duke farm Luke had got finished with his chores and walked in to call Lori to ask her to come over to the house this evening before he left to run his errands. The phone rang at the Davenport farm, and as clever as Lori is she jolted through Cooter's legs, picking hersle fup off the gorund runnin in the house. She answered out of breath,"H..hello? Da..Davenport residence?" Luke chuckeled and said............. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ B.L. had arrived at Andy's house to find.........

Jesse got red and looked to Luke,"Luke??" Luke sighed and said,"It was me, look he started on Lori and he wanted t' race. sos We got into this challenge, I beat him and he got mad. He called Lori some names I didn't like to hear and I went off on him, so sue me for caring about my girlfriend." Jesse shook his head,"I give a ONE little taste of freedom and you SCREW it up by fightin' Ernie over a girl!!!" Rosco finished his coffee and said,"Looks like you've got a hold on the situation Jesse, But Luke im warnin ya, im watchin you." Luke nodded and got up, heading out to the barn to grab the axes for him and Bo to chop up firewood. Jesse walked out to talk to help them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the Davenport farm Beverly crawled over Lori and went to the bathroom, she walked in on Cooter and screamed waking up Luther. Luther got up and walked out in his robe seeing Beverly stunned. Cooter wrapped the towel around him and had a big grin across his face,"Aint nothing ya aint already seen," Luther heard the remark and said,"S'cuse me Cooter?? did I just hear what I think I heard?" Cooter cursed under his breath,"Da--!" Luther shook his head, whistling to Camptown Races,"LORI!!!!! DIXIE!!!!!! UP AND AT EM' GIRLS!!!!!" Lori groaned and got up, putting on her jeans and a tanktop, then her boots and jean jacket, Cooter had to go to work on the firewood, Lori was taking Beverly home, Dixie and B.L. was to clean the house.Lori, as well as the others, had to run an "errand" for Boss Hogg. Lori shook her head as B.L. came bouncing through there and tussled Lori's hair. Lori smiled and brushed her hair back, putting it in a pontytail, letting her bangs hang loose. Lori and Beverly walked outside and climbed in Midnight Rider. Lori had already loaded the moonshine in the back of her car. She sighed as Rosco didn't know nothing about the deal Lori made to Boss. Lori sped through the back roads, passing the Dukes' farm, Luke looked up and saw her smiling. Lori had a million things to do today, there was a race in Osage County, Moonshine deliveries, chores at the house, and things to do with Luke. When Lori dropped Beverly off she headed over to Tolliver's farm. When she got out she looked around and sat the cases of Monnshine down on the front porch,Tolliver had a horse as black as night that he took care of for Lori, Lori didn't have anytime for riding today, which reminded her she had a horse race too. Maybe Luke might have to be out of the picture fer a couple of days, or he could go with her to the races and whatnot. Lori got the money he left in the hiding spot, he used the moonshine for wounds on the horses. Lori got the money and knew she needed more crates, she sped towards Uncle Jesse's. When she pulled in she got out and smiled to Bo ad Luke. Uncle Jesse nodded and said,"Mornin' Lori, you alright?? OR are ya gonna help Luke oil the hinges for the side door here?" Lori swallowed,"Sorry Uncle Jesse I kept Luke up late last night..... I need to borrow some Moonshine crates and jugs Uncle Jesse, fer something." Uncle Jesse.............

Lori looked up and jumped back a little seeing the death glare Cooter had on Luke,"Ohh come on now Cooter, it aint like you and bev weren't caught doing it, sides we wasnt even in my room." Cooter sighed with relief, leading Beverly up to Lori's room. Lori would pay for it, tomorrow was going to be heck on her as she had no sleep. She walked Luke out to his car and hugged him, giving his jacket back. She kissed him and he got in saying,"I love you." Lori smiled and said it in return quietly going back in the house to see Beverly killed out on her bed, Lori changed her clothes and crawled in, she would act sick just to stay in bed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Luke pulled up at the Duke farm and took his boots off, quietly climbing through the window to his and Bo's room. He went and laid down, a night with no sleep bu a great woman, it couldn't get no better than that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ When the sun arose...............

At the finish line Ernie was talking junk about the race not being fair and he tried to stop Cooter from giving Luke the $200 by saying that Luke cheated and whatnot. Cooter sighed and handed Luke the money, Luke smiled to Lori and picked her straight up, kissing her lightly. Ernie was jealous because he didn't have a girlfriend so he tried to say stuff about Lori. Calling her a whore and whatnot, WELLLL....... plain and simple, you don't want to mess with Luke's woman, that's be liking trying to eat a greneade, it aint smart. Luke and Cooter both looked to Ernie and Luke looked down then said,"What did you, uh....just call my girl?" Ernie smirked,"You heard me, Lori Whorie!!!" Lori let a tear slip and looked to Beverly who put her arms around Lori. Luke looked to Ernie and said,"You son of a bi---!" Luke then swung at Ernie, thanking God, Ernie was the same age as him. Him and Ernie was fighting, while that dipstick Enos called Rosco!!!! Lori looked to Beverly and said,"Enos called Rosco!! If he sees Luke fighting he'll get him for sure!!" Beverly nodded and told everyone to get going, they all pulled out Cooter pullled Luke off of Ernie, his shirt ripped off him. Lori was wearing Luke's jacket, were she still got cold easily. Cooter took Beverly and got her in the wrecker and took off, Luke and Ernie in behind them. It didn't take Rosco long to catch up to them, Luke and Cooter pulled off, hiding. Ernie got caught and was took to spend the night in jail. Luke laughed and looked to Lori,"That was a close one....." Lori sighed and said,"Yea, it was.....wanna head home?" Luke grinned evily,"Ohh you bet I do.." Lori smiled and pushed her hair back from her eyes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When they pulled up at Luther's farm, Beverly and Cooter were in the tow truck doing God knows what, Luther and B.L. and Dixie was asleep. Luke got out of the car quietly and took Lori's hand leading her out to the barn............

Lori smiled and shook her head,"I can tell im in for it tonight ain't I?" Luke let a growl creep up,"You know it." Lori giggled and sipped her cola as she sat in Luke's lap. She had returned to normal size and her color had came back, the bruises were gone and so were the gashes. Those vitamin pills sure did work a charm on her. Cooter looked to Lori as Luke ran his hands over her. Cooter still didn't like it with Luke dating his younger couisn. Cooter sighed and took Beverly in his arms. Lori leaned her head back and nibbled down Luke's neck, giggling softly,"Hows bout, later me and you head on back to the farm, and head to the barn loft?" Luke shuddered all over from the invite, he'd been looking forward to her asking him that, he knew she would. He took another sip of the beer and nipped at her neck agreeing. Ernie however, was a different story he had his hood up showing off his one of a kind motor. Luke snorted and picked Lori up setting her on the grounf gently, popping his hood up and looking to his motor. Luke winked to Lori and reassured her that things would be fine. Lori wrote Luke notes all day in detention, it was soo boring in there. Luke and her fell asleep a couple of times right against each other. Ernie looked around behind Luke, looking at Lori. Lori saw him and said loud enough for luke to hear to,"Stop staring at me Ernie!!" Luke was getting mad, hes face began to turn red and his veins in his neck pulsed. Lori took Luke by the arm,"Easy hot-stuff, yer in enough trouble already." Luke eased up and sighed outwardly. Lori looked to the clock, still had almost half a day to go. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bo saw Beth and smiled, humph he'd never noticed her before. She was awefully pretty, and she had a certain bounce and giddiness in her walk. Dixie noticed the looks he'd been giving Beth all day, and wasn't too thrilled her boyfriend was staring at her best friend.

Lori laughed and kissed him,"That's great!, I can't practice, they wont let me, they say im too fragile." Luke looked to her,"Thats because you are." Lori humphed him and took his hand smiling. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When they arrived at school Luke and Lori stepped off the bus and Lori went over to Mylinda and them, still holding Luke's hand. "Hey guys, did ya miss me?" Mylinda and Bessie Lou both chimed in,"Did we ever!!" Lori laughed a little and smiled to them. "Well guys im heading inside its too cold for me out here." They stood outside of the mornings and went in within the first five mintues when the bell rang to go to first period. Luke walked in with Lori and went to her locker with her to put her books up when the principal walked by and tapped Luke on the shoulder,"Mr. Duke....I heard you and Ernie Ledbetter got into a fight? after practice?" Lori interrupted,"I was there, Ernie hit Luke first sir. Ernie was harrassing me and Luke stood up for me." The principal nodded and walked back to his office. Luke looked to Lori and sighed,"Thanks darlin.." Lori kissed him,"Don't mention it." Luke and her walked to detention were Ernie sat watching them...........

Lori chuckled softly,"Yea I know, listen cousin, in highschool it's called survival of the fittest. trust me you do NOT want to be popular with all the guys. Would you liked to be nicknamed the whore of Hazzard?" Dixie sighed,"No,but I want to....." Lori stopped her,"Well, being popular isn't always fun, it does have its downfalls... believe me, wanna be in the trouble like I'm in right now?" Dixie shook her head,"NO!" Lori said,"Alright then, I rest my case." Lori looked to her younger cousin,"Look, alls you have to be, is yerself, and if the guys can't except you for that then you don't need them. So what if they refer to you as Cooter's little sister, be proud of that, be proud that yer a Davenport Dix!" Dixie laughed a little and said,"Thanks Lor." Lori nodded and shooed her off to bed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That next morning, it was chilly outside and Lori dressed in another long sleeved shirt, a pretty pink turtle neck sweater, and some brown cordroys to match it, she wore her boots with it as well. She had a little more color to her face this morning, and some of the gashes had healed up from the lotion she put on them. She took her medicine with some orange juice and ate a muffin or two. Everyone was impressed, although she still looked pitiful, she was regaining some composure back. Lori and Dixie and Cooter and B.L. all climbed on the bus seeing Luke and Bo in the back. Dixie sat with Bo, Cooter sat with one of his buddies and B.L. sat with Daisy, Luke with Lori. Luke smiled to Lori and said....................

Lori looked,"Give her time, she'll be here." B.L. nodded and went back to the living room. Lori looked to the clock on the wall and sighed, she went and got ready for bed. When she climbed in she could hear Cooter pull up. She smiled and went back to sleep. Cooter came through the doors, sos not to wake Luther up. B.L. saw him and pounced him,"Well??" Cooter sighed and smiled,"I think I love her alot!!" B.L. began singing,"Cooter and Beverly!!" Cooter smacked her arm,"Hush!! you'll wake up Luther!!" B.L. smirked and headed for bed. As did Cooter. ~~~~~~~~~~ Bo arrived home pretty late and was caught by Luke. Luke looked to Bo and said......... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lori heard Dixie come in and quietly got up to let her in, "Dix?? we were worrying bout ya, B.L. almost caught on and Uncle Luther is fit to be tied." Dixie sighed,"I just want in to go to bed, lori ok?" Lori nodded and let her in, closing and Locking the door.

Lori sniffled a little and wiped Luke's tears away, she laughed abit and msiled,"Ok, I promise I wont." Luke smiled back and kissed Lori romantically, the first real taste of romance she's ever had from him. Lori smiled to him and relaxed on his arm. They sat for another hour and Luke finally broke the silence,"Baby, I need t' get home and so do you." Lori sighed, it was time fer her to take her medicine and she knew it."Yea reckon so." They got up and walked to their cars, Luke entwined his fingers with Lori's and pressed his lips against hers. He smiled to her and got in pulling away, Lori doing the same. When she arrived home B.L...............

Lori looked to Luke and sighed she got up and pulled her sleeves down revealing the deep gashes and bruises on her,"This is why Luke.....I thought you didn't love me at all, and that you were using me.... im sorry Luke, ive not been eating or anything." Luke looked down for several minutes, then looked up with tears in his eyes. "Honey, you can't do that to yourself over me or any other guy. I'm here and ain't planning to go anywhere,....... right now,...... but we are 17. Do you really see us together in five or ten years?" Lori looked away and covered her arms back up,"I've always though about it Luke...I'd love to be with you and have children, I honestly would...I know I seem dumb but it has been a small dream of mine." Luke.............. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bo nodded and smiled and said,"Yea I dont want to go that far just yet, but soon enough maybe??" Dixie............

Lori sighed and pulled her britches on and headed in behind Luke, the sight she saw was an awkward sight. She saw Dixie, bra-less with Bo's hand up in under her shirt. Lori looked to Luke who quickly turned around not seeing Dixie's "things". Lori looked to Bo and said,"Well......this is interesting. Dix, can I talk to you, and you'll need to clasp that bra back." Dixie shot Lori a look and walked off shaking her head,"What now??" Luke had Bo talking to him. Lori looked to Dixie,"Do you know what yer doing??" Dixie sighed,"Not exactly, we're not going ot do it all the way, just exploring." Lori half smiled,"Well cousin don't go alll the way, yer too young." Dixie got blood red. Lori laughed and looked to her,"Listen you two, if you dont tell uncle luther and uncle jesse, we wont either." Bo nodded and looked to Dixie and said,"Well, maybe another time??" Dixie got mad,"I guess... Lori I swear!!" Lori looked to Dixie and took Luke's hand,"What?" Lori smiled to him and laid in his lap,"Well....at least we finally got too!!" Luke smiled and said,"Yea, finally...... You alright??" Lori looked to him and asked,"Yea why do you ask??" Lori sat and saw Luther come up behind her,"C'mon Lor, im taking you to the doc, you are wasting away to nothing darlin!! I know why...and I swear if I catch him.." Lori stopped him and got up,"Look, Uncle Luther please don't touch Luke, leave him be... Ain't seeing me go through this punishment enough for him??" Luther sighed,"Well we'll wait til' the game is over and then take you to the doc." Lori nodded and saw Luke look at her and half smile, then he'd look to Ernie and clench his fists in anger. Lori sighed. When the game was over Dixie looked to Cooter and said,"Hey coot, guess who wants to date you??" Cooter smiled,"Beverly??" Dixie laughed,"Yea!!" Cooter smiled and headed for Beverly, smiling to her, he kissed her. Lori saw it and smiled. She looked to Luke who was leaving with Bo. Ernie walked up beside Lori right infront of Luke, putting his arm around Lori. Lori shrugged it away, Luther was in the car waiting. Ernie tried to take her hand when Lori had had enough and turned around and smacked him right across the face,"LEAVE ME THE HE-- ALONE!!!! I AIN'T YER WOMAN!!!!!!" Ernie looked to her,"Not last I heard." Lori rolled her eyes,"Ohhh sure I smile at you ONE time and say hello to you and I atomatically become YER woman??" Ernie humphed and got back up trying to press up on her, Luke had had enough he tapped Ernie's shoulder and said,"Hey, once she says she ain't yer woman she ain't!!! She's MY woman so back off!!!!" Bo was ready to back his cousin up, Ernie smirked and slung his fists at Luke, Luke dodged and went after Ernie on the ground, giving him a left and a right. Lori looked to Bo saying,"Get him off Ernie Bo, he'll get into trouble!!!" Bo did and pulled Luke off, Lori took Luke's hand and squeezed it saying,"Don't......" Luke looked to her and for once saw the pain in her eyes. Luke nodded swallowing hard. He looked to Bo and led Lori over to his car,"Im going to take Bo home, do you think you can meet me?? I can get Uncle Jesse to let me go to the pond, if you can get Luther to let you go?" Lori nodded,"Ok, I'll come I know he will, I gotta go to the Doc first." Luke nodded and kissed her temple. She then proceeded to go over to Luther's car and get in, seeing B.L. and Dixie. Cooter was taking Beverly on a date. They drove to the doc's office. The doc had prescribed Lori with vitamin pills to help her back on a regular eating schedule. As for the small bruises, she'd have to hit them to break the blood vessels and let them heal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Uncle Jesse had knew the condition Lori was in and had understood that Luke was concerned, so he let him go to the pond. When he got there he could see Midnight Rider parked and Lori laying on a beach blanket by the bank. Luke smiled to her, she looked a little better, still wearing the long sleeves but she had some color to her. Still as skinny as a rail though. Lori raised up on one elbow to look to him,"You mean Uncle Jesse let you come??" Luke smiled setting beside her,"Yea, he did... I wanna talk to ya bout our relationship darlin, this relationship is built on trust and honesty and at the game I wasn't being honest with you about Robin." Lori nodded,"Ahh ok?" Luke then proceeded,"Well, me and her had been together bout a month ago and she had to tell me something inportant, she "thought" she was pregnant, but before you say anything, she told me at the game, she wasn't! please Lori tell me you ain't seriously seeing Ernie??" Lori smiled to Luke and took his hand,"No.....I told ya, I only spoke to him asking if he was fine and whatnot, and I smiled to him, that was it." Luke........
