  1. "Well, we were actually jus' passin' through 'til we met these here boys. We're on a road trip, jus' drivin' and seein' the sights, takin' some time off." "Where are ya'll from?" "We're both from the great state of Missouri. Trace here is from the city, several different ones 'til she landed in Jefferson. Now me, I was born and raised on a place jus' like this. A nice little farm in the middle of the Ozark Hills." "Yeah, and she knows each of those hills like the back of her hand." Tracy adds with amusement. "Not true, I'm sure there's lots of places I ain't discovered yet. 'Specially caves, I know there's hundreds of 'em I ain't explored yet." "Caves? I like explorin', but I'd rather not be in no caves. I hate crawlin' 'round in them creepy caves!" Bo exclaims. "Yeah, and it gets a might cramped in some of 'em." Luke adds thinking of the time he and Bo were trapped inside an old mining cave. It had been an almost terrifying experience, bringing on flashbacks from his time in Vietnam while he was in the Marines. Those are memories that Luke would much rather forget. "Uncle Jesse, did you see Miss Destiny's car?" Luke changes the subject. "It's purely a sight ta behold. It might be pert near the only car that could match up to the General." "Oh ho! So that's what caught ya'lls attention huh?" Daisy laughs. "Well, not totally." Luke grins sheepishly. "Uh, Uncle Jesse, we was hopin' it'd be awright for the girls ta stay here while theys in town. Me an' Luke are willin' ta take our sleepin' bags inta the parlor." Bo says. "Well now, you ladies are welcome ta stay as long as ya want to." "Thank you sir. I'm more than willin' ta help out with the farm chores an' all. I'm sure Trace is to, 'ceptin' she's prob'ly better at chores 'round the house." "What!!! You's both guests! Guests don't work fer their keep!" Uncle Jesse exclaims, "An' don't call me sir, makes me feel old before my time. Jus' call me Jesse." Destiny looks at Tracy and giggles. "What's so funny?" Daisy asks looking at the two other girls. "It jus' might be a bit confusin' callin' you Jesse, under the circumstances sir, uh, I mean Mr. Duke." "Whatcha mean?" "Well Mr. Duke, ya see, Jesse James is the name of my car. Most of the time we lovin'ly refer ta him as Jesse." "What do you mean we? Don't you mean you? It's your car." Tracy interjects. Destiny glares at her. "I see now. Awright, you's can jus' call me Uncle Jesse then. Most people seem to 'round here anyways." "Say, don't ya'll have any family a wonderin' about ya?" Daisy wonders out loud. "Not me." Tracy sighs. "I don't have any close family left." Luke and Bo look at each other. Bo starts to say something but Luke gives him a swift jab with his elbow. "Oowww, Luke that hurt!!!" "What 'bout you Miss Destiny?" Luke asks quietly giving Bo a warning look. "I got lots of kin. My parents are still on the farm an' I got two older brothers. Tom, he's the oldest, runs heavy equipment in the local rock quarry. He's kind of a homebody, likes messin' 'round with engines an' stuff. Now John, he's a welder. He's real creative an' comes up with some real neat stuff. He married a gal from California, a great gal. She's more like a sister than a in-law. Besides them, I've got lots of aunts, uncles, an' cousins runnin' 'round. We're a pretty big family, but they won't be worried. They know I can take care of myself." "That's when I start worryin'." comments Uncle Jesse. "Are ya'll pretty close then?" asks Daisy. "Mama always says family is the most important thing after the good Lord that is. We tend ta stick tagether pretty well." "Yer mama sounds like a right smart lady." Uncle Jesse says while eyeing his niece and two nephews.
  2. Jesse James followed the General Lee back to the farm, matching him swerve for swerve and even taking a small leap when they came to a dip in the road. "Ya know, that girl ain't half bad." Bo comments seriously as he whips around another corner. He watches in the side mirror to see how Destiny takes it. "She'd have ta be pretty good ta put tagether a car like that one." Luke replies just as seriously, keeping his body turned so he can see out the rear of the car. Bo suddenly breaks into a huge grin and glances over at Luke. "Should we see how good she really is? We could take her across Dry Creek." Balladeer: Now both Bo and Luke know that the bridge over Dry Creek is washed out. It seems ol' Bo wants ta know if that Jesse James can fly as well as the General Lee can. "Naw, let's jus' head on home for now and get ever'thin' settled. There'll be time for that later." Both cars pull into the farmyard and slide to a stop. Bo and Luke quickly pull themselves out of the General and step over to Jesse James in time to hear Destiny's comment. "This is great Trace! I feel like I'm back at home. The only thing I see that's missin' are the cows." "It figures." Tracy shakes her head and smiles at her best friend. "We ain't got no cattle Miss Destiny. We do grow plenty of crops though." Bo adds to the conversation. "Uncle Jesse! Daisy! We got company!" Luke yells toward the old farm house. It only takes a moment before an older gentleman with white hair and beard steps out of the house. He is followed by a young lady with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing the shortest shorts that Destiny and Tracy could ever remember seeing. Tracy cocks an eyebrow and glances toward Destiny. Destiny starts grinning and thought to herself 'Interestin' wardrobe. I think I should ask her how that kinda stuff wears on a person.' When Uncle Jesse and Daisy reaches them Bo starts to make the introductions. "Uncle Jesse, Daisy this here's Miss Tracy, uh, um I don't think I caught yer back handle Miss Tracy." he grins sheepishly. "My back what?" Tracy questions with confusion. "Yer last name Trace." Destiny supplies with a smirk of amusement. "Oh! Hello sir, Daisy, my name is Tracy Rose." "Well, ain't that a purty name fer a purty lady." Uncle Jesse smiles and shakes her hand. He turns to face Destiny as Daisy is greeting Tracy. "And what's this other purty gal's name?" Luke starts to introduce her, but Destiny breaks in and sticks out her hand. "Howdy, I'm Destiny Dawn, nice ta meet ya'll." "We're right happy ta meet ya'll too." Daisy replies noticing the slightly dreamy look on Luke's face. "Are ya'll in Hazzard for long?"

  4. Even though I'm not happy about the casting done for the movie, I'm still going to go see it. It's mostly a curiousity thing. I've got to see what they've done. I know it will never match the original series in any way, shape, or form so I'm hopefully not setting myself up for a huge disappointment.

  6. It's really hard to pick a favorite, but right now I'd have to say my favorite is Arrest Jesse Duke. It was awesome seeing the General with the expanders and all. I also really like The Ghost of General Lee. I haven't seen all of the seasons yet, so it could change later on.

  8. I like it either way. It was nice to see Luke get a chance to drive for a change. Bo seems like he has more fun when he's driving though and I like seeing Luke doing the physical stuff like jumping into other cars, shooting arrows, and grabbing and hanging onto tree limbs. But either way it's still fun and I get to see the General doing his thing.

  10. Tracy can see that look in Destiny's eyes. 'She's found something she likes all right. I almost feel sorry for that guy. She usually gets what she wants and she isn't hiding the fact of what she wants either.' Tracy thinks to herself. She notices Destiny is looking at her. "That's fine Des." "It's set then. Let's find us a place ta stay, then we'll see what these here country boys can do in this car." "Hey, why don't ya'll stay with us out at the farm. I'm sure Uncle Jesse won't mind and ya'll can sleep in Daisy's room. She won't mind sharin'." Bo volunteers quickly. "Now hang on a minute Bo. Daisy's bed won't sleep three. Are ya willin' ta give up yer bed? Course Miss Destiny you can always use mine. I'd be right happy with a sleepin' bag in the parlour." Luke offers. Bo nods his agreement. "That's mighty kind of ya'll. At this point, every penny we can save is a big help." "Shoot, it won't be no hardship a'tall. Me an' Luke's used to the sleeping bags." Bo adds. "That all right with you Trace?" Destiny looks to her friend for confirmation. "Works for me." Tracy shrugs her shoulders. "Yeeeehhaaawww!" "That's Bo talk for all right." Luke explains with a grin. Destiny and Tracy both chuckle. "Well lets get moving ya'll. We'll be there in two shakes of a lamb's tail." Bo says eagerly. "Huh?" Tracy asks with confusion. "He means it won't take ya'll very long ta get there Miss Tracy. Now ya'll make sure an' let me know when that race is gonna happen. That is purely a sight I gotta see firs' hand." Cooter requests eagerly. "Later Cooter." "It was nice ta meet ya Cooter." "Ya'll keep 'em tween the ditches ya hear." "Hey gals, ya'll want a ride over to yer car?" Bo asks. "Naw, we can walk. Just you boys wait for us. No headstarts allowed." Destiny laughs over her shoulder as the girls make their way back to Jesse James. As they get in the General Lee pulls up beside them. "Are ya'll ready?" Luke asks from the passenger seat. "Yep." Destiny replies while starting Jesse. "Okay, now ya'll try ta keep up awright." Bo teases. "Anything you can do, country boy, I'm sure I can do." Balladeer: Do ya'll really think she can back up that statement?

  12. "We haven't really decided Cooter. Neither one of us is on any type of schedule. Course if we do end up stayin' on for a while, ya'll will have ta find somethin' ta entertain my city friend. She ain't used ta bein' in a one horse town. Now me on the other hand, well I'm easily amused an' not hard ta entertain." Destiny replies. "I'm sure I can find somthin' for Miss Tracy ta occupy herself with." Bo comments with a big grin and a wink. "Like jukin'?" Tracy grins back. "Among other things sweetheart." "Pay no mind to my cousin Miss Tracy. He ain't completely trained up on the rules of etiquette yet." Luke growls to Bo. "Luke! Now I-" "Quit yer squabblin' you two. No bickerin' or ya'll will scare these two fine ladies away before sundown." Cooter chuckles. Bo and Luke glare at each other for a moment then break into smiles and slap each other on the back. "I do believe Cooter's right this time Bo." "Awright, I'll play nice if'n you do Lukas." "Ya got a deal cousin. Now, Miss Destiny, I don't know what ya'll are gonna decided ta do, be it stay or leave, but I do have a favor ta ask ya." Luke looks from Destiny to Bo to the General Lee and back to Destiny. "I'd be mighty obliged if ya could see fit ta race your Jesse James against our General Lee before ya leave." "A race huh? Whatcha think Trace? Stay or go?" "I think you're the driver Des. I'm just along for the ride." "Okay then, if its my decision I say we hang around here for a while. I've got a race ta arrange." Destiny replies looking only at Luke, hoping he gets her point. "'Sides, I'm comin' ta like this little town an' what's in it more with each passin' second." Balladeer: Neighbors, do ya'll get the feelin' that it ain't the town this little gal is a likin' so much?

  14. The black charger comes into town and cruises around the square, finally pulling up by the hotel. The Duke boys were over at Cooter's garage when the sound of a powerful engine rumbling by caught their attention. "Hey Luke, Cooter! Do ya'll see that?" Bo exclaims in astonishment. "I sure do Bo. Get a load of that... why, I don't know which is prettier, the car or the girl a drivin' it." "Naw, I only half way agree with ya. I kinda cotton to the other'n myself." "That's just because she's wearin' a skirt Bo. Yer mind cain't ever get past a skirt." "Luke! You-" "Ya'll, I tain't never seen a car like that un. Well, 'ceptin' for the General here a course." Cooter interrupts. "Well boys, why are we just standin' here? Why don't we go introduce ourselves." Luke grins at the other two before moving across the square. "Yeeehaawww!" exclaims Bo slapping Cooter on the back as they quickly catch up to Luke. The girls didn't know they were the subject of conversation so close by. They're standing on the sidewalk stretching out muscles tired from so much sitting while discussing their next move. "So whatcha think Trace? Ya up for more drivin', or do ya wanna stick around this little town for a bit?" "Actually Des, I'm getting pretty tired of being cooped up in your car. But it's up to you." Destiny shrugs her shoulders and looks around the square. "Hhmmm, this seems like a nice little one horse town. I bet Mr. Big won't look here for a while. I do wonder if anything excitin' ever goes on. Let's check things out and then decide okay?" Balladeer: Well, ya'll can tell that these gals ain't ever heard of Hazzard County before. And here comes the excitement. "Hey ya'll, nice lookin' car!" Cooter bursts out before they even reach the curb. "That ain't the only nice lookin' thing ta look at." Bo says softly to Luke who grins back at him. "Howdy." Luke says to the girls, "we ain't never seen ya'll around before. Ya'll new ta Hazzard?" Destiny looks Luke up and down, deciding she likes what she sees. "Well stranger, we've never been here before so I guess we are brand new." "My name's Luke, this blonde giant is my cousin Bo, and this here's our friend Cooter." "Stranger huh? Our Uncle Jesse says a stranger is just a friend ya ain't met yet." Bo smiles his best charming Duke smile at Tracy. "Ya hear that Trace? I tol' ya small towns know how ta treat people." Tracy smiles shyly at Bo before dropping her gaze back to the pavement. Destiny turns back to the three men standing in front of her. "My name's Destiny and this is my friend Tracy. We're from Missouri." "This car is sure somethin' ta see. Ya'll mind if'n I take a looksey under the hood?" Cooter jumps into the conversation. He has ran out of patience and can't wait to see that engine. "What for?" Destiny begins cautiously, "I don't normally let anyone under Jesse's hood 'cept me." "Aawww, he don't mean nuthin' by it honey, he's the best shade tree mechanic around these here parts as well as the owner of the only garage in town. He just cain't tell that there's better stuff ta look at than an ol' car engine." Bo again applies his Duke charm. "Well, I guess if he's a mechanic an' all... Awright then, but dontcha mess with nuthin'. I got Jesse runnin' just right." Cooter grins as Destiny walks to the front of the car and pops open the hood. Cooter, Luke, and Destiny all go under while Bo sidles closer to Tracy and grins at her again. "So what's two pretty gals like ya'll doin' in Hazzard?" "Oh, we're just passin' through." Tracy replies softly. "But sweetheart, you ain't plannin' on leavin' yet are ya? Ya'll just got here!" "Well, we didn't really-" "I was hopin' I could take ya over to the Boars Nest ta meet everyone and maybe do some jukin'." Bo interrupts her. "Boars Nest? Jukin'? I'm afraid I'm not following you." Tracy asks with confusion. Destiny's head pops out from under the hood. "I tol' ya Trace! If you would've hung around me more often then you'd know these things. Jukin' is the age ol' tradition of dancin' to a juke box." "That's right and the Boars Nest is the local waterin' hole, uh bar, that has the only juke box in the county." Bo continues the explanation. "Hey Bo!" Luke yells from under the hood. "Ya gotta see this! They've got pert near the same engine as the General Lee does." "Woooweeeee! Did ya say you put this tagether Miss Destiny?" Cooter asks excitedly. "Yep, in my spare time and with a little help from my brother. Took me long enough too, between my waitressin' job and helpin' out on the farm." "Well, I'll be. You sure you ain't a Duke?" Cooter asks. "Who're the Duke's?" Bo and Luke look at each other and smile a smile of pride. "We are. Bo and Luke Duke at yer service ladies." Bo answers. "Well why in the world would ya think I'm a Duke, Cooter?" "It's jus' because our backgrounds are so much alike Miss Destiny. We put together our General Lee and we help on the farm too." Luke steps in to explain. "Yeah, 'cept we don't do no waitressin'. That'd be our cousin Daisy. She lives with us on our Uncle Jesse's farm. She's a pretty good mechanic too." Bo adds. "The General Lee's what ya'll call your car?" "Yes ma'am, we built him ourselves with a little help from Cooter here too. The General's a member of the family, even if sometimes it seems he's held tagether by spit, balin' wire, and a lot of TLC." Luke answers with a look of pride. "This I gotta see." says Destiny. "He's just over yonder in my garage. Let's go take a gander." Cooter offers. "Okay, lets go." Destiny agrees. Luke guides her way with Cooter right behind them. "C'mon Trace. Ya wanted ta stretch yer legs." Tracy shakes her head and rolls her eyes. "Will ya allow me ta escort ya Miss Tracy?" Bo requests. Tracy smiles shyly once again and nods. By the time Bo and Tracy amble over to the garage, Destiny was already busy checking out the General Lee. "Wow, this is pretty good. Did ya say you built him Luke?" "Well sure, me an' Bo, an' Cooter helped out too." Luke answers Destiny with a flush of pride in his checks. Tracy takes her first look at the car and her eyes get wide. "Orange? An orange car? Who in the world chose that color?" Tracy asks in puzzlement. " I have never in my life seen an orange car, especially one like this." "Aaawwww, it was the only color of paint I had available at the time. It kinda grows on a person though. I couldn't imagine the General bein' any other color now." Cooter answers while Bo and Luke nod in agreement. "Oookkkaaaaayyyyy. What about that giant flag on the roof?" "Why that ain't nuthin' but a show of good ol' fashion southern pride is all." Bo answers. "What about ya'lls car? Does all that stuff have any meanin' to it or is it just ta make it pretty?" "Don't look at me! It's Destiny's car. My own opinion is she does it for attention." Tracy answers with a laugh. "That ain't funny Trace. Not one bit. I didn't paint Jesse James like that for attention. Not at all. Everything on Jesse stands for somethin' important ta me. And you know it." "Your right. Sorry Des." "Your forgiven, I think." "Miss Destiny, uh, what's all that stuff mean then?" Cooter asks hesitantly. "Well Cooter, the USA flag shows that I'm American and proud of it. The rebel flag means I ain't afraid ta fight for what I believe in. The flames down the sides are representin' the fires of temptation and sin that follow all of us. The black color represents that no matter how dark a situation may seem, you can always make it through with a little luck, faith, and lotsa hard work. And he's named after one of the best known outlaws from our neck of the woods." "That's a whole lotta meanin' in one car." Luke comments. "It sure is, but it ain't got the one thing our General's got." Bo chuckles. "What's that?" Destiny wonders aloud looking at the car again. "This." Bo answers as he reaches inside and hits the horn. The first few notes of 'Dixie' plays to the girls astonishment. "That's pretty neat. I wonder if I could get one made?" Destiny replies while in deep thought. "What in the world would you have it play Des?" Tracy queries, rolling her eyes again. "Well..." They all look at her, waiting to hear her choice. "How 'bout 'The Devil Went Down Ta Georgia'." she grins back at them. "C'mon Des." Tracy scoffs. "That's almost an omen itself. A bad one." Tracy is thinking of the devil that is chasing them, the reason they are here in the first place. "Oh Miss Tracy! That ain't right a'tall. You two are more like angels if anythin'." Bo protests. "Thanks for the compliment, but you haven't seen Des when her temper flares up." "I don't think it'd change much, she'd still be beautiful." Luke mumbles but everyone hears him. "Now ya'll just quit with all these pretty words. You'll make me blush and I detest blushin'." Destiny says with a laugh to lighten the moment. "So what are ya'lls plans? Ya gonna stick around Hazzard fer a bit?" Cooter asks.

Bo smiles his best charming Duke smile at Tracy.
  16. Hello all! This is my first fanfic ever. I hope you enjoy it and I apologize in advance for any errors or mistakes. Feel free to PM me with any comments or suggestions. Balladeer: Welcome folks to Hazzard County. Now on a beautiful spring day like taday, what could the Duke boys be doin'? Since their tearin' toward town, I figure it's gotta be 'bout cars or an errand for Uncle Jesse. It's too early for women. Well, maybe not with these two. Bo and Luke are heading into town in the General Lee. They're singing a song to pass the time, enjoying the sunshine and the sight of new spring growth. "Mamas don't let yer baby's grow up ta be cowboys, Don't let 'em pick guitars and drive them ol' trucks, Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such..." Balladeer: Sounds right nice don't it? Ya think them boys have ever thought 'bout goin' ta Nashville? "Hey Bo, speed it up a little will ya? We tol' Cooter we'd be there by 10, an' it's gettin' close ta that now." "No problem cuz, we'll be there in two shakes of a lamb's tail." Balladeer: What'd I tell ya. If their goin' ta see Cooter, it has got to be 'bout cars. Ya'll think they can stay outta trouble? Speakin' of trouble, what's this I see a few miles back? Looks like trouble ta me and it's flyin' directly toward Hazzard in a black Dodge Charger with flames painted down the sides, a United States flag on the hood with a rebel flag inlaid in the middle, and the name Jesse James above the doors. Now does this signify North meetin' South or what? "Hey Trace, do ya have any smidgeon of an idea where we're at?" The girl behind the wheel asks. She is a petite girl with dark brown hair, sparkling green eyes, and curves in all the right places. She glances over at her friend in the passenger seat, a tall, willowy girl with sandy blonde hair and deep blue eyes. "Sure I'm sure Destiny. Have I ever lead you the wrong way before?" "Do ya really want me ta answer that?" Destiny asks with a grin. "Not really." Tracy grins back at her, "Thanks for doing this though Des, it's nice having a friend along with me. Josh is really scaring me." "Tell me about it! Everythin' you've tol' me gives me the heebie jeebies. I don't think I've heard tell of a more possessive and controlin' man. I still think ya shoulda let me handle it." "Oh Des... He would have just filed a lawsuit against you and probably your whole family too." "If he knows what's good for him, he'll leave my family out of it." Destiny growls, "Ya know, that's what's wrong with the world taday. Cain't nobody fight for what they believe in without some wuss screamin' for the law." "Well if we all solved everything by fightin', there would be a whole lot more turmoil and sadness than there already is." " I guess so." Destiny mutters, not ready to completely concede the point. "Oh well, at least we get ta do some sight seein' along the way. Didn't I tell ya that you should hang out with me more often. This has gotta be more fun than goin' it alone." "It definitely is. Thanks again. But you know, I'm getting a little road weary. Do you feel like stopping and stretching a bit?" "Sure, sounds good ta me. How far's the next town?" "Lets see..." Tracy mumbles looking at a ragged and worn map. "The next one is a little town called Hazzard. We should be there in a few minutes." "Hazzard? Either that's an omen or we're in for a good time." Destiny replies sarcastically. Balladeer: I don't know for sure, but I'm thinkin' it's probably gonna be a little bit of both.
