  1. Hello Evil Ernie. The cast members who will be there this year will be John Schneider, Catherine Bach, Ben Jones, James Best, and Rick Hurst. I heard that Sonny Shroyer can't make it because his son's getting married or something like that. And as for Tom Wopat, I imagine he will NEVER attend a Dukesfest because he is determined to cut all ties with the Dukes and continue expanding his career on Broadway. Hope this helps. Cheers. 2. Man that really sucks. I hate the 2 part version. I wish WB would consider releasing Carnival of Thrills and 10 Million Dollar Sheriff in their original feature length versions. If that's how it is on your set, then that is how WB officially released it. Then again, Starsky & Hutch had some 2 hour episodes that were released only in 2 part form as well. So I guess it's no surprise. Thanks for the information. I'm really grateful and now I know what to expect. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  3. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. Have you ever met a cast member of the Dukes of Hazzard more than once and they remember you the next time around, name and all? That's what happened to me this past weekend in Pigeon Forge, Tn. I attended Rhythm in the Hills this past Memorial Day weekend and Catherine Bach was a guest host on Saturday. She was scheduled to be there signing autographs on Saturday and Sunday. When I arrived Friday evening, I was watching Lorrie Morgan's concert with my colleagues from the radio station who were there when I get a call on my cellphone from the B Man, another colleague of mine who was backstage. The conversation went like this: VOICE MAN: Hello. B MAN: Will, where you at right now? VOICE MAN: I'm watching Lorrie Morgan with Earl and friends B MAN: I'm backstage and Catherine Bach wants to meet you right now so get your butt back here quick! VOICE MAN: I'm on my way!!! I had to make like the Six Million Dollar Man and run at "bionic speed " (I ran as fast as I could go) and was admitted backstage. B Man had met her and told her about me, my voice impressions, and my ability to talk like all the cast members. B Man told me her reply was something like: Oh my gosh I want to meet him. Get him back here if you can! I met her and she was nicer than I ever imagined. Catherine had me do my voices for a couple of camera guys who were there with her filming a pilot for a show she wants to launch on CMT called, Life in Hazzard. To make a long story short, Catherine Bach wanted to get me on stage with her Saturday night to do my voices, but it didn't happen. The event coordinators screwed things up, but I was 99% close to doing it. The greatest compliment of all was that I saw Catherine Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of that weekend and she remembered me and my name all three days. Now this isn't a minor player or supportive player on the Dukes. This is Daisy Duke herself!!!! I mean this lady meets millions of people every day and I am amazed that she would remember me. I may or may not get to see her at Dukesfest because I imagine the line to see her will be backed up to New York. If I don't get to see her, at least I accomplished my main mission this past weekend. I repeat my question. Have any of you met cast members of the show more than once and they remember you by name? If you have, tell me about it. I'm curious to know. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  4. I agree with whoever said both sides were wrong. All in all, I blame it on bad communication between Tom and John and WB. All John and Tom wanted was to know where their royalties on the merchandise were. WB had accounting problems that were drastically overlooked and they treated Tom and John like crap over the issue. I sympathize with Byron and Chris and they wound up in a degrading position. I compare Coy and Vance having to be Bo and Luke clones very similar to when Adam West and Burt Ward reprised their famous roles in two very horrible NBC specials called Legends of the SuperHeroes. Both of these were career killers. It makes you wonder how these guys can show their faces in public afterwards. I must say though that Christopher Mayer has resurfaced in many movies and shows during the 90's. I've seen him on things like Silk Stalkings,Batwatch, Weird Science, and Jennifer Tilly's lover in Liar Liar with Jim Carrey. Like Tom Wopat said "Chris has talent, but that other guy Byron was like a fish out of water." I haven't seen Byron Cherry on anything at all. I heard that when John and Tom returned, John was okay, but Tom treated Byron and Chris like crap and even to this day, Tom Wopat crudely refers to them as the Clones. Sounds like something out of Star Wars. I met a guy once who was a friend of John's and I learned that the one thing you NEVER EVER discuss with Tom Wopat is Coy and Vance. He is still very bitter over that. In closing, I can't help but wonder how a season five boxset would sell since everybody hates Coy and Vance. I can imagine the only reason people would buy it is to see the last four episodes unless they are die hard completionists like myself. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  5. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. I'm planning to buy my copy of Season three @ Dukesfest, provided if Cooter's Place or somebody sells them out there. Now there is something I have to know and if anybody can respond before Friday, I would be most grateful. CARNIVAL OF THRILLS: Is this episode in its original 2 hour movie format, or is the episode in its daily syndicated 2 parter format? The answer to this question will help me know what to expect when I view the episode, plus it will give me an idea of what they will do with the 10 Million Dollar Sheriff in the season four boxset. Thanks and Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  6. Good Point Lost Sheep. Putting seasons 5 & 6 together would be a great idea, even though the price would be higher, I'd be willing to pay for it. Plus it would speed up the process of seeing the entire series released. I am one of those die hard collectors of episodes. And my goal is to get all episodes plus the two reunion movies uncut on DVD someday, completing the official Dukes of Hazzard video library. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  7. My vote goes for the villains who give Bo and Luke a major challenge. Characters like Turk in Luke's Love Story. I'm actually surprised that Turk fought better than Luke though. Plus Turk is a villain whom Bo and Luke fought individually at different times. Jason Steele in the 10 Million Dollar Sheriff, Junior in Duke vs Duke, and Milo Beaudry. A guy that takes both Bo and Luke to punch out. I really enjoyed the fight scenes with Joey in Welcome Back Bo and Luke and with Lulu's kidnappers in the amusement park. But perhaps my all time favorite fight scene was when Bo and Luke fought each other in Carnival of Thrills. No Duke shuck and jive here. It was all out Duke Civil War on the Duke farm. Plus, Luke gave me a line to remember if I ever get into fight that I know I could win. "Cousin, you just started somethin you ain't half man enough to finish!" Luke knew what he was talking about being a former Marine. I hated it when in some shows, Bo and Luke didn't fight the bad guys, but merely cuffed them or made them spread as if they were cops. Bring on the bare knuckles brawls any day. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  8. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. Well, my biggest predicition for the show has come true. I anticipated that the first four seasons would make it to DVD in boxsets. Now I'm wondering about the remaining years of the show and I was wondering about your thoughts as to what you imagine will happen. I'm going to jump ahead and cover the 6th and 7th seasons of the show first. I could imagine a 50/50 chance of seeing the last 2 seasons on DVD. The only drawback is that those two seasons were relatively weak in comparison to the first four. Even though both seasons produced to some unforgettable episodes, there also some sucky ones too. Now for the issue of big debate. The fate of the 5th season. I can imagine one of four scenarios: 1: If the full 5th season is released on DVD in a boxset, I imagine it won't sell very well. Nobody I know likes Coy and Vance. About the only reason anybody would buy the set would be for the last 4 episodes with the return of Bo and Luke. Only die hard completionists like myself would buy it. Yes I would buy the 5th season and yes, I do watch the Coy and Vance episodes, but I watch them knowing that I can look forward to Bo and Luke's return. Just because I watch them doesn't mean I like them. 2. They skip over the 5th season entirely and release seasons 6 & 7. The only downside to that would be the ommission of "Welcome Back Bo and Luke" one of the series best episodes. 3. They could skip over season 5 and release the 6th season along with a bonus disc that includes Welcome Back Bo and Luke, Big Brothers Duke, Farewell Hazzard, and Daisy's Shotgun Wedding. 3 of these episodes were released uncut on Columbia House. I'd like to see Farewell Hazzard uncut. 4. They don't release anymore of the series beyond season four. So, what are your thoughts? How far do you think, imagine, predict, or anticipate they will go with DVD season boxset releases? Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  9. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. I've just been informed that the Dukes of Hazzard Complete 4th season boxset will be released in August to coincide with the release of the new movie. It will include all 27 episodes from season 4 and it will be on 9 single sided discs. If you want to know more about this, just visit www.tvshowsondvd.com. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  10. Hey Brian. I know exactly who you're talking about. Her name is Jo. But for reasons unknown, her last name has left my memory. I remember I used to chat with her the few times I visited the flower shop and when I attended the Dukes of Hazzard fan club's get together in Covington back in 1999. Man it was scalding hot with a nasty drought. I've heard that she sold the flower shop and I'm not sure what's she's doing now. It's been years since I last saw her. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  11. Hi Julie Duke Mama Coltrane, (Lucille Benson) appeared only one time on the show. Mama Coltrane appeared on "Mrs. Rosco P. Coltrane" a third season episode in the fall of 1980. The episode where Rosco is conned into marrying a female con artist he meets through a computer dating service unaware that she is already married and that her real husband and his partner plan to rob the bank while everyone is at the wedding. This is the episode where we learn the P. in Rosco's middle name is Pervis. This episode will be part of the third seaosn DVD due to come out soon. Hope this helps. Cheers. Will "I still say you ain't ready!" Mama Coltrane at and during Rosco's wedding.
  12. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. In this post, I want to know which characters annoyed the living crap out of you? These are characters that when they talk or even appear on camera, you just want to b*#! slap them. I know many of you will say Coy and Vance, but how about others, supportive players, one time characters? etc? My two votes go for characters in Boss and Rosco's family. Mama Coltrane!! Now while I consider Lucille Benson a fine actress, ( I liked her as thE snake lady in Duel) But I couldn't stand her as Rosco's mama. With a mother like that, no wonder Rosco never dated. She drove them all away!!!!!! The other most annoying character to me was Rosco or Lulu's cousin or aunt Hortense. Oh Geeze!!!! I would absolutely hate to have her in my family. I liked Frances Bay much better as Fonzie's hard of hearing grandma on Happy Days. Finally, the nervous official at the Lulu Hogg Horse Races that kept reminding everybody that Manassas had better not be late. And from the reunion movies, I hated Bubba and Bertha Jo and Mama Maxx's main flunky with the weird laugh in Reunion in Hazzard, and I really hated Patch, BB Bascum, and the Russian Guy from Hazzard in Hollywood. Well, that's my Hazzard Hate List Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  13. Greetings from Hazzard TN. Since we're talking about favorite characters on the Dukes, how about your favorite villains and bad guys. Nope. Boss Hogg and Rosco don't count. And no, Coy and Vance don't count either. But which of the villains did you like the best? You can choose a comical villain or one you felt was the most menacing. For comical villain, I liked big ole Bubba along with the guy from Laugh In in Find Loretta Lynn. My favorite most menacing villain is Judson Scott. I liked the characters he played. Very psychotic. First, he is out to kill Uncle Jesse in Witness Jesse Duke. After seeing that episode, I wished he could have menaced Bo and Luke. Well, my wish came true in the final season when he played Lee Benson in Sittin Dukes and he had a personal vendetta for his ex sergeant Luke Duke. For reasons unknown, Judson Scott comes to mind when I hear any rock song by Eddie Money. Other runners up for menacing villain would be the black actor who played in Dukes in Danger and High Flyin Dukes, and Charles Napier, who played lots of bad guys in his younger days, like Digger Jackson in Bye Bye Boss and he resurfaced in Targets aisy and Lulu. So who are your favorite baddies? Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  14. I thought I'd respond and post my thoughts about the replacement Duke Boys. I am actually one of the very few people who kept watching the Dukes of Hazzard when Tom and John left the show. I wasn't particularly happy with the show without Bo and Luke, but I continued to watch for Daisy and the rest of the cast. I've fondly told Rick Hurst and Sonny Shroyer how I loved it when CLetus and Enos shared a squad car together and cosistently bickered over whose turn it was to drive, so the first few Coy and Vance episodes gave me some entertainment. In defense of Byron Cherry and Christopher Mayer, I actually like these guys. I did not really like Coy and Vance because of Warner Bros. requiring them to be clones of Bo and Luke. To quote Tom Wopat from the E True Hollywood Story, "Chris has talent, but that other guy Byron was like a fish out of water". That was actually strange to hear Tom say that because I allegedly heard that he treated them like crap when he and John returned. Even to this day, Wopat refers to them as "The Clones" Somebody ought to give him a copy of Star Wars II Attack of the Clones. LOL!! I happen to agree with Tom about Chris Mayer. He is talented and he's resurfaced in many movies and TV shows, Like Jim Carrey's Liar Liar movie and he was great as Jennifer Tilly's lover. As Vance Duke, Chris comes off as very likeable, the type of guy who would be your friend. Byron Cherry: He was probably the weaker of the two. As Coy Duke, Byron just seems more like a small town local yocal they chose to replace Bo. Unlike, Bo, Luke, or Vance for that matter, Coy couldn't sing, make a plan of some kind, or do anything as well as his other cousins. If Byron and Chris had been allowed to show what they could do, maybe the Dukes would have been more interesting. Instead, their orders to be Bo and Luke clones drove everybody away. The worst thing about Coy and Vance were the rebel yells. Vance sounded way too much like a city boy and Coy sounded far too redneck for me. Bo and Luke's rebel yells were just right. Nobody does a better one than John Schneider. He even has Tom Wopat beat in that category. While I enjoyed the Coy and Vance episodes as a kid, watching them today is very painful now that I truly know what those characters were really all about. Whenever I view them on tape, I watch with confidence knowing that Bo and Luke will indeed return. The Coy and Vance episode I liked best was their first one, the New Dukes because WB tried to make them sound original. The other episodes just plained sucked. To watch a Coy and Vance episode and get through it without going into a diabetic coma, you've got to pick out something memorable with any of the other cast members. Like any shenanigans between Boss and Rosco, The Cletus and Enos scenes, maybe scenes between Enos and Daisy, etc. My favorite Jesse moment in that season was his blindness in Witness Jesse Duke. Or how about Flash barking while sitting outside Boss's house on Ding Dong the Boss is Dead, or better yet, how about when Roso leans over Boss's coffin and eats a sandwich in front of Boss knowing that Boss can't move. LOL! Priceless. To close this subject, I don't particularly like Coy and Vance Duke at all. I do admire and respect Byron Cherry and Christopher Mayer for their efforts. I mean they really got the dirty end of the stick in the Dukes. I'm one of the few who will buy the season 5 DVD if it's ever released, (which I doubt) If anything, to see the last 4 episodes with Bo and Luke. I especially want to see Farewell Hazzard uncut. Byron and Chris. I appreciate the efforts you put forth. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  15. Speaking of that subject. Does anybody else notice that only Daisy Duke has the biggest wardrobe variety? Along with Uncle Jesse, Cooter, and Boss Hogg, Bo and Luke wear the same dang clothes in every episode?! With the exception of a few recurring extras like Bo's T shirt and Luke's denim jacket, the Duke boys code is simple. Bo wears yellow shirts, light or beige. Luke wears plain or plaid shirts as long as they're blue in color. And of course, always wear blue jeans. NO WONDER THEY WERE ABLE TO MAKE TOY ACTION FIGURES OF THE DUKES OF HAZZARD!!! I mean come on, even Starsky and Hutch had a little more variety in their line of clothing. Another absurd example, In Ghost of General Lee, Bo and Luke have exact replicas of the clothes they lost when they return to the farm. It's like Luke has blue shirts and Bo has yellow shirts and blue T shirts all stocked up. No other colors. Is that weird or what?! Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  16. Howdy from Hazzard Tn. Just thought you fellow Hazzard fans should know that before attending Dukesfest this year, Catherine Bach is due to appear at Rhythm in the Hills, a new event taking place in Pigeon Forge Tennessee on the 26, 27, and 28 of May. I found this out when we did a live interview with one of the heads of the event yesterday. I don't think she'll be meeting the general public, but I do know that she will appear at this event. For more information and ticket prices, go to www.rhythminthehills.com. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  17. It was indeed the 2 hour episode, the 10 Million Dollar Sheriff. Only Boss had nothing to do with it. This is the first ever episode in the series where Rosco started talking back to Boss Hogg and treating him pretty much the way Boss had treated him throughout the series thanks to the 10 million dollar inheritance. The General Lee set up was done by the evil bounty hunter, Jason Steele from Atlanta whom Rosco hired to frame Bo and Luke into prison and the fake General Lee was Steele's car. Like I said, Boss really had nothing to do with it this since he was demoted from County Commissioner to being Rosco's dipstick deputy. The only connection Boss had was when Rosco made him snap photos of the General Lee from all sides. For what it's worth, the only time Boss had a General Lee was in Double Dukes, when Boss had a car made over like the GeneraL Lee for the phony Dukes, Turk and Moody to drive and rob the armored truck. Hope this helps. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  18. Howdy From Hazzard. Let me see if I can sort it out. Well, from what I can recall, all four members of the Duke family have suffered head injuries sustained with loss of consciousness. The first one to get it was Daisy in Officer Daisy Duke when she is sucker punched by the female prisoner. Following that, Bo is knocked out by the two silver thieves in the Hazzardville Horror. Then in My Son Bo Hogg, Bo first hits his head on a rock and then at the end, he hits his head against the door of the van while trying to fight Luke. The next injury is the serious injury Uncle Jesse sustains when he slips, falls down a steep hill, and hits his head on a rock which puts him in a deep coma in the 2 hour 10 Million Dollar Sheriff. Next in Goodbye General Lee, the first of Luke's head injuries (and apparently a serious one to have him rushed to the hospital, is when the drive shaft hits him. Jesse's other severe head injury was the one that blinded him in Witness Jesse Duke. In Farewell Hazzard, Daisy hits her head on a rock and temporarily loses consciousness. In Lulu's Gone Away, Bo is knocked unconscious and is out like a light for a while thanks to Lulu's kidnappers. Luke sustained most of his head injuries in the 6th season. The most serious one of all was in Brotherly Love. Luke was knocked out by the twin sisters in Twin Trouble, Coogan's partner in The Ransom of Hazzard County, and the hijackers in Cooter's Confession. All of these were temporary and Luke woke back up again. As for mental control, both Luke and Daisy were hypnotized by Professor Crandall while the amnesiac Bo was merely brainwashed by Boss and Rosco. Although they are not considered truly part of the show, but merely replacements, Vance Duke received conscious losing head injuries in The Great Insurance Fraud, temporarily in Return of the Mean Green Machine, and finally in Coy VS Vance. So that means that Coy Duke was the only Duke who never suffered Cranial damage. Hope this helps Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  19. Lest I forget, In Limo ONe is Missing, I love what Rosco shouted at Enos when they nearly collided with each other. ROSCO: YOU DUMB DIPSTICK WHAT ARE YOU TRYIN TO DO, GIVE ME BODILY INJURY?!!!!! ENOS: I'm... sorry... Sheriff (barely getting his words) ROSCO: WHERE'S DAISY? YOU LET HER GO?!!! ENOS: Sorry Sheriff,, I .. I.. ROSCO: HUSH! HUSH! DON'T TALK TO ME WHEN I'M YELLING AT YOU!!!! (and he does that whatever he did that was sooo funny.) CHeers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  20. Howdy from Hazzard Tn. When it comes to Bo and Luke in the General Lee, there's something I'd like to know. There are two distinct ways in which the Dukes handled General Lee. THE EXCLUSIVE SET UP: Bo drives. Luke rides shotgun. Seasons 1 &2 THE ROTATION SET UP: Bo and Luke both drive and ride shotgun 50/50 Seasons 3-7 Which way do you prefer? Being a Luke Duke fan, I liked it when Luke began driving the car on a more regular basis starting in season three and beyond as opposed to his occassional drving time during the first two years. Now I love it when Bo drives, becuase when he drives, he defines fun and has the makings of a NASCAR driver. On the flip side, I also like it whenever Luke drives because Luke is the eldest cousin, he has experience and he's the brains of the family. I also feel Luke had to have helped Jesse teach Bo and Daisy how to drive when they reached driving age. I also wonder who decided that Luke should drive more, Tom Wopat? An executive? Gy Waldron? Who knows? I'm just glad it happened that way. What are your thoughts? Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  21. The fate of Bo, Luke, and Daisy's parents has always been a mystery. Gy Waldron says that they all were killed in the same car wreck, although I can't help but wonder what they were all doing together at one time. The only times that is mentioned, In a Boy's Best Friend, Bo and Luke mention how seeing Terry Lee reminds them of their young days: BO: We were mighty young when out folks passed on. LUKE: Yeah but somehow, I don't remember being that sad. I guess cause I had you and Daisy BO: And we all had Uncle Jesse. And in the Dukes of Hazzard Reunion, Daisy tells Mama Max that her mother died when she was born. That would make a good prequel film, if not, a fanfic depicting the days of the Dukes parents and how the orphaned cousins were sent to live with their Aunt Lavinia and Uncle Jesse. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  22. The first time Cletus appeared was in the season one episode, Money To Burn. He was posing as an armored car driver for his cousin Boss. And only he and Rosco knew who he was. In season two, Enos had appendicitis and Cletus filled in for Enos as temporary deputy in The Meeting and in Road Pirates. He helped Cousin Boss out in civilian mode in The Ruslers and by the time of the second season, Cletus was considered to be a Hazzard native. It wasn't until Enos left for California at the end of Enos Strate To the Top, the opening episode of season three, that Cletus officially became Hazzard's new deputy. CLetus's regular tour of Hazzard duty lasted through seasons three and four and five early episodes of season five in which he shared a patrol car with Enos, who had returned and they consistently bickered over whose turn it was to drive the car. As of the Hazzardgate Tape episode, Cletus was said to have gone on vacation, but just downright disappeared without a trace. Cletus returned to Hazzard sometime between the show's end and the first reunion movie, where he became Rosco's Chief Deputy. Hope this helps. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  23. I hear you. The DVD set said the season would end with Bo and Luke duking it out in a feud. That was describing the Carnival of Thrills and I was really bummed out to see that Carnival of Thrills and Uncle Boss were not part of the set. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  24. When it comes to favorite character to be like or emulate, mine was Luke Duke. In fact, as a kid, I play acted the DUke boys with some kids. Everybody wanted to be Bo and that was fine. I was Luke and I enjoyed it. Luke was the brains and was an awesome fighter. Whe it comes to comedy and humor, Rosco was top of my list. In my chronological list of favorites, 1. Luke 2. Bo 3: Rosco 4: Daisy 5: Enos 6: Flash 7: Uncle Jesse 8. Cooter 9: Cletus 10: Boss Hogg Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  25. My favorite quotes are a bit random. ONE ARMED BANDITS: BO: Well me and Luke be glad to help out now wouldn't we Luke LUKE: Nope BO: Well what do you mean nope, it's your civic duty. WHy at least two of them kids in that orphanage could be yours. LUKE: Bo's always braggin on me. MARY KAYE'S BABY: BO: Ha ha. He sure is good. LUKE: Well you can tell him that. He's gonna catch us any minute the way you're pokin along. BO: Well I's gonna let you take that bow and hit his tires but I'm afraid you' miss and hit ours. LUKE: I sure wish there were some girls around here. Maybe you'd show off and drive faster! GOLD FEVER: LUKE: You can't talk horse sense to a jackass! For the sake of good drama: OPENING NIGHT AT THE BOAR'S NEST: ROSCO: I think I've lost you little fat buddy. I think you're right I can't do anything right. It's just... You're the only one who's ever understood me I.. can't afford to lose ya. BOSS: I'm the only one. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
