Howdy from Hazzard Tn. I have a topic worthy of being a poll. What you consider to be Rosco's funniest moments? When has Jimmy Best ever made you laugh the hardest. There are so many to choose from. The only ones that come to mind immediately are: ROUTE 7/11: Rosco mistaking Luke for Enos in the rig. DAYS OF SHINE AND ROSES: After the race when Rosco pulls up at the Boar's Nest in his completely deformed undercover car. I still laugh real hard at that scene. PEOPLE'S CHOICE: Rosco's attempt at a Bo Duke style hood slide FOLLOW THAT STILL: Riding Hard Luck's bicycle, tipping his hat, and falling into that gigantic mud puddle and shouting YUCK!!! THE GREAT BANK ROBBERY: Boss and Rosco attempt to go after Bo and Luke when they turn on the sprinklers and dash out the bank, but they slip over the little door and fall. HAZZARDGATE TAPE: When Enos crashes in to Rosco's car, Rosco gets out and QUIETLY walks over to Enos and tells him to write 2 tickets. COY VS VANCE: Rosco's attempt to climb into the window of his patrol car when the door handle breaks off. HIGH FLYIN DUKES: Rosco is thrown out of a the second story window of the Hazzard Hotel, lands on a trampoline, which bounces him up in to the air, lands on Boss, both land on a chair with wheels, which rolls across the street and hits a parking meter, which rings up a violation. Rosco proceeds to write Boss a parking ticket. HAUNTING OF J.D. HOGG: Rosco commadeers a kid's bicycle, goes downhill and falls off the bike. Carries the bike down to the bottom, and shoots it. And so on and so on. There's so many to name, it's hard to keep up with them all. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

The Voice Man of Hazzard replied to UKDuke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Episodes
I think most all of us are in agreement about the Coy and Vance era. For me, I need to pick episodes outside of that season. I'm in agreement with Strange Visitor to Hazzard County. It is by far the worst ever episode with Bo and Luke. My comment for that episode could be either that one quote I just read about Rosco having a dream caused by Swamp Gas, or if the Dukes had run a few years longer and aired after 1986, it could be written off as a bad dream that Boss Hogg has after eating a gigantic midnight spicy sausage sandwich. At the end of the dream, Boss Hogg would hear water running in the shower and instead of Lulu, it's Lil Cuzin saying "Well it ain't Dallas kiddo!" Strange Visitor to Hazzard is definitely the worst of them all. The other ones I had trouble sitting through were Robot P. Coltrane and The Haunting of J.D. Hogg. That episode was as dull as flat beer and a sand sandwich. Only thing I liked in that episode was Rosco shooting that kid's bike after falling off of it. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man -
Howdy. One thing that has always bothered me about season two of the Dukes of Hazzard, is that it never made any sense. The chronology was always out of whack. On it's original airdate, and then in syndication. When I watch my DVDs, tapes, etc, I tend to watch season two in an order of my own, which, to me, makes more sense. So this is the order I've arranged them. SEASON TWO: The Voice Man's Law: Days of Shine and Roses Uncle Boss (What the heck's it doing in season three?) Gold Fever The Rustlers The Meeting Road Pirates Find Loretta Lynn Ghost of General Lee The Dukes Meet Cale Yarborough Witness For the Persecution The People's Choice Grannie Annie The Duke of Duke Follow That Still The Runaway Arrest Jesse Duke Treasure of Hazzard Officer Daisy Duke Jude Emery Return of the Ridge Raiders Mason Dixon's Girls R.I.P. Henry Flatt Southern Comfurts Carnival of Thrills It may be a long season, but it makes better sense to me to watch it this way. I'd have all the non Cooter and non Rosco episodes together. And I'd have Find Loretta Lynn at the earlier half of the season. Uncle Boss to me is the official first appearance of Hughie Hogg episode since it is treated with more fanfare than in Arrest Jesse Duke. Anyway, this is nothing more than a mere opinion. Cheers. Will

One of my all time favorite episodes was the 2 hour Carnival of Thrills. I originally remember it being a 2 hour episode and airing like a movie. I'm hoping that it will be in that format on the Season 3 DVD boxset. I was really bummed out when Columbia House released it in its syndicated 2 part episode format. Same thing with the 10 Million Dollar Sheriff. Columbia House claims that Carnival of Thrills originally aired in 2 parts, but I only recall it as a 2 hour episode. Which way did it originally air? In Ghost of General Lee, somebody does see them naked. The nude scenes were deleted by TNN. First they are chased away from a clothes line by a growling Rottweiller. The next scene of theirs deleted was when Bo and Luke approach this beautiful girl at the window of her bedroom and ask if they can borrow some clothes (her pa's clothes), but the girls mother comes up from behind them in obvious view of their butts. The mother orders her daughter sternly in to the house and then she chews out the Duke Boys. "I don't know what you two are up to, but every time you DUkes come around here, my hens quit layin and my cow goes dry, now GIT!!" When Bo and Luke leave, their dialogue is as follows: BO: Why are we runnin around lookin for clothes? LUKE: I don't know, but I learned somethin. A man ain't truly been insulted until he's stood buck nekkid in front of a woman and she don't even notice. BO: Or care. I remembered this scene from years ago, Tom and John discussed the scene on John's video Behind the Scenes With Bo, and the DVD boxset has these scenes included. Hope this helps. Cheers. Will

dukes of hazzard :: duke fest
The Voice Man of Hazzard replied to KLSCHMITT2001's topic in General Discussion
If all goes as planned, I plan on attending. Especially if John Schneider is going to be there this time around. It would be awesome to say hey to him again. Now that I've lost weight, I'm hoping to get a better picture taken with Catherine Bach. I didn't even recognize myself in that photo. It's a shame that a diagnosis of type II Diabetes had to get me to shed the pounds. I also hope it won't be as hot in early June like it was in early August. No shade to duck into on the Speedway. Cheers. Will -
Howdy from Hazzard, TN. I thought I'd post a topic on here so I may get better acquainted with some members on here. Which of the cast members have you met and what was your best and/or worst experience? I'm proud to say that I've met all the surviving cast members and more than once. I'm also happy to say that all my experiences were good ones. I've met Tom and John through their concert tours they did in the late 90's. It wasn't until their Grand Ole Opry appearances and Dukesfest of last year that I met Cathy, and while my voice worked fine, my body and hands trembled. I've met Jimmy once in Florida and at Dukesfest and of course, Ben and Rick @ Cooter's in Gatlinburg. Sonny, I've met the most number of times. My best experiences have always been with Sonny Shroyer, who's got to be the nicest man on Earth. I'm amazed he remembers me every time we meet and he gets me to do my Boss Hogg voice with him improvising with me as Enos. Ben Jones does the same thing, by having me do Boss's voice. Thankfully, I've had no bad experiences. The cast of the Dukes of Hazzard seems like a very unique group of people with fans as opposed to other shows. Very down to Earth. While I've never had any bad experiences, a good friend of mine had a bad experience with Tom Wopat at one of their concert tours in 1998. This is no bashing, but I'm reporting what I've heard. My friend Billy went to Fife Alabama where Tom, John, and Sonny were in concert. According to Billy, Tom wasn't as friendly as John and Sonny. When Billy asked Sonny if he would autograph his General Lee, Tom supposedly said something like "Sonny, you are under no obligation to do that, but you can if you want to." Ever since then, Billy's nickname for Tom Wopat is "I'm Not Obligated". When Billy told me this, I recalled popping in the episode, Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Duke in my VCR. I must have been lucky. Tom and I got along okay. Probably because I was onstage entering the Boss Hogg look a like contest, only I was a sound alike. Anyway, has anybody had any positive and/or negative experiences with the cast members? Just curious. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

I'm proud of my collection. First, I have the first two sasons on DVD as well as the series I taped from TNN and what was released on Columbia House. I also have two die cast General Lees and some autographed photos from the cast members. I used to have the coloring books when I was a kid. But my main Dukes of Hazzard collection, which I am most proud of is the action figure collection from Mego. General Lee with Bo and Luke (I have two sets of the figures with head varaitions. One set I had the heads switched so they can be Coy and Vance) Dixie Jeep with Daisy Duke Hazzard County Patrol Cars: I have 2 of them thanks to ebay and I have Rosco and 2 Cletus figures. I painted the hair black on one so he can double as Enos. The ultra rare Boss Hogg's Caddy with Boss Hogg. I was rather bummed out that the doors didn't open. I also have figures of Uncle Jesse and Cooter. In the 8 in. figure dept. have Bo and Luke, with both shirt variations, long sleeve and short sleeve, Daisy, and Boss Hogg. I also have the unofficial Coy and Vance figures. I also have custom made T shirts for Bo, one blue and one brown from the pilot. And I use Huggy Bear's denim jacket on Luke and CHiPs shirt for Bo whenever I want the figures to have the look of the first season. I was always annoyed that Mego never made 8 in. figures of the other cast members, so a friend of mine who makes custom Megos and I worked together and I now have 8 in. custom figures of Uncle Jesse, Rosco, Cooter, Enos, and Cletus. I only wish I could find a custom made General Lee for the 8 in. figures, which for reasons unknonw, Mego never made. But that's my collection in a nutshell. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

Howdy. I've been waiting for this opportunity and I thought I'd share my thoughts regarding the new movie. On the pro side, I am looking forward to seeing a new movie about the Dukes of Hazzard. Ever since the release of the Starsky and Hutch movie, I was wondering how they'd treat the Dukes. When it comes to the cast, I can only approve of three. Believe it or not, I am looking forward to seeing Seann William Scott as Bo Duke. Now I know that he is known as Stifler from the American Pie trilogy, but I think he has the right look for a guy who loves to race cars and chase women. I will admit however, that when I heard he was going to be Bo, I had this image of Bo Stifler Duke jumping the General Lee. You would hear the dixie horn followed by him saying F____ers!!!!!!!! I look at Willie Nelson's casting as Uncle Jesse as a tribute to his friendship with Waylon Jennings. And Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg, while it physically makes no sense at all for Boss to be tall and thin, I feel it's a tribute to a tribute since Burt's name was mentioned a few times around during the show, which was made during his heyday in movies. LUKE: Burt Reynolds never seemed to get lost BO: Well he's got a mustache! or Cooter in Repo Men saying: What you think ole Burt Reynolds would do in a time like this? Besides, if Burt does have the mustache, it will look like the Bandit went into politics. On the con side, I have no opinion of Johnny Knoxville as Luke Duke, so I have to remain neutral. As for Rosco, I'm a bit annoyed that he is being treated like a minor character and we don't even know how this MC Gainey guy is going to portray him. The biggest fault with the movie is with Daisy Duke. I'm sorry, but I don't like Jessica Simpson. In fact, I totally despise her with a fierce passion. Now I'm not going to bash Jessica. I've seen a lot of that and I'm not going to get caught up in it. It's not that Daisy Duke will be a blonde that bothers me. Guy Waldron's original image of Daisy was blonde. To me, it's that they've chosen a blonde who either is dumb or acts like it, like that "Chicken of the Sea" line I've heard about on that dumb reality show that she and that husband of hers do. I refuse to watch it. My ideal choice for Daisy Duke would have either been Kristin Kreuk from Smallville or country singer Getchen Wilson. I look at her and I see the modern Daisy Duke in her and her songs like Redneck Woman and Homewrecker. But actually, Daisy and Rosco are the only things I'm dreading about the movie. Otherwise, I'm anxious to see it. I'm especially looking forward to seeing former Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter as Uncle Jesse's girlfriend since I recently acquired the Wonder Woman DVDs. But that is my opinion of the movie. A neutral one. Regarding Jessica Simpson, I'm not outt to bash her and upset Jessica's fans. It is only my opinion and nothing more. For Jessica's fans, I'll only say that maybe Jessica will surprise us as Daisy Duke. Only time will tell. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

Thanks for the warm welcome. As I said, being a guy, it's naturally hard to do Daisy's voice, so I have to be selective when I'm asked to talk like Daisy. Ironically, the dialogue where I do Daisy's voice the best when asked is from Daisy's Song. It's at the part where Boss Hogg walks in and discovers Lester Starr's potentioal sound alike is none other than Daisy. It's also an excuse to throw in the Boss Hogg voice for balance. When it comes to doing Bo and Luke's voices, I like to do them whenever they're criticizing each other's taste in women, like in Lulu's Gone Away. Now when it comes to female voices, I am proud of my Lulu Hogg impression. I got to do her voice for John Schneider and Tom Wopat back in 1998. Anyway, I'd better be quiet. I didn't mean to toot my own horn. But I will say for anyone who's an impressionist, the Dukes of Hazzard voices are in my opinion the most fun to do. Cheers. Will -
Hello. This is actually my first time posting here. My name is Will Rodgers (yes. Believe it or not, that is my name) and I am originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee. I am a 100% DIE HARD fan of the Dukes of Hazzard. I'm currently 33 years old and I make myself an outspoken fan. Hey! If Seinfeld loves Superman, Reagan loved Jelly Beans, and Bush Sr. hated broccoli, then let it be known that my passion is for the Dukes of Hazzard. Anyway, it's real nice to find a forum where Dukes fans can get together and chat. In the real world, I think Dukes fans are spread out far and wide, because I can never find anyone with whom I can discuss the shows with. To be brief, I'm in radio and we play country, both old and new. As program director, I can decide what plays and in addition to Waylon Jennings and John Schneider's Greatest Hits CD, I also enjoy playing Ben Jones "I've Been Everywhere" and "Home Grown Tomatoes" from his CD. As Mel Brooks said in History of the World part 1: "It's good ta be da king!" I call myself the Voice Man due to this freak ability to talk like many characters. More than I can count. The Dukes of Hazzard is the only show where I can talk like all characters. Being a guy, Daisy is naturally the hardest voice and the voices I have most fun with are Boss Hogg, Rosco, and Enos. Well, I'd better not ramble on too much. I hope I'll get to meet some fellow Hazzard fans on this forum. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
