Unlike yesterday, today's race in Brazil had a dry track. After a bad qualifying session, Max Verstappen decided to start from the pit lane. The top five got off the line in order, but a few positions changed behind them. Sadly for the local fans, Gabriel Bortoleto had contact with Lance Stroll on the opening lap and had to retire. Lewis Hamilton also damaged his car trying an overtake Franco Colapinto, and it eventually resulted in his retirement at roughly half distance. The accidents caused a safety car. At the restart on lap five, Lando Norris again kept the lead, but Oscar Piastri came up the inside and knocked Kimi Antonelli into Charles Leclerc earning himself a 10-second penalty and a retirement for Charles. Max made good progress in the early laps, but had to pit early with a suspected puncture while under the virtual safety car. At the checkered flag, Lando claimed victory over Kimi by 10 seconds, but Kimi was less than half a second ahead of Max who drove an amazing race. George Russell finished fourth with Oscar in fifth and a great result for Haas with Oliver Bearman in sixth. You can see the race highlights here. After taking wins in both races this weekend, Lando now leads the drivers' championship by 24 points with three races to go. We've got a 2-week wait until the next race in Las Vegas.1 point -

The F1 championship is probably going to look quite different after today's Brazilian Grand Prix, but first the sprint race and qualifying. Championship leader Lando Norris took pole for yesterday's sprint race with rivals Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen in third and sixth. Mercedes drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell were second and fourth, and Fernando Alonso put his Aston Martin in fifth. The track was wet from earlier rain, but all drivers started on dry weather tires. The top four got away in order, but behind them Max made up a place and Lewis Hamilton made up three from 11th. On lap 6, Oscar had a spin and hit the barrier, followed by Nico Hulkenberg and Franco Colapinto all at the same corner. That brought out a red flag. Lando held first at the restart to the checkered flag, but came under pressure from Kimi in the last few laps. Behind them, Charles Leclerc got past Fernando for fifth. Local driver Gabriel Bortoleto had a bad crash with about a lap to go, so the race finished under a yellow flag. Lando's win increased his lead to nine points. You can see the highlights here. In qualifying for today's race, Red Bull tried to improve their performace from the sprint race, but went backwards with both drivers out in the first session. Max and Yuki Tsunoda will start 16th and 19th. Lewis Hamilton was eliminated in the second session and will start 13th. Lando was quickest in all three sessions and will start from pole. Kimi, who was runner-up in the sprint race, will start in second with Charles in third and Oscar in fourth. Red Bull's junior team, RB, had a much better qualifying with Isack Hadjar in fifth and Liam Lawson in seventh. Oliver Bearman also did well with his Haas starting eighth. Qualifying highlights are here. It may be tomorrow before I get to post the race review.1 point

The Mean Green Machine
Skipper Duke reacted to HossC for a topic
Here's the Mean Green Machine from season 5. For those of you that don't watch the Coy and Vance episodes, it first appeared in 'The New Dukes', and returned in 'The Return of the Mean Green Machine'. This was one of the easiest projects so far due to the body being mainly straight lines, although I only had screengrabs to go by. Like the camo patrol car I did recently, the paint job is not indended to be an exact copy, I was just going for the general look and feel. I based this version on its second appearance in 'The Return of the Mean Green Machine'. The only differences (that I spotted) are the wider flap on the front to allow for the magnet, and the scoop and spiked wheels are rustier.1 point -

I didn't know where else to put this, so I hope this is ok. What's Byron Cherry doing now? I mean we all know about Christopher ( ) but what about him? I'm watching the 5th season and so I started thinking about them.1 point -

Hobie, if you watch carefully, they made a couple of small changes to the Mean Green Machine between its appearances. The most noticeable is the wider flap to allow for the magnet. I commented on this briefly in my Fan Art picture way back in 2011.1 point -

Thanks Hoss. I always wonder what's up with the surviving cast. That's why I was so excited to see Bo on Dancing with the Stars.1 point
