After the Grand Prix finished, I switched over to catch the end of the British Touring Cars. One of the support races was the Mini Miglias and Mini Se7ens (different classes using the original Mini). In the Se7ens class, a driver called Jeff Smith was driving the 01 car which he's painted orange and put a Union Jack on the roof. The commentators even referred to him driving the General Lee, and as the cars came into the pits at the the end of the race, a Dixie horn could be heard in the background!

Dukes got a name check in the F1 commentary today. Towards the end of the race, I think it was when Lewis Hamilton passed Charles Leclerc, they said that he could now set off "in hot pursuit of Valtteri Bottas [his team mate] as they used to say on the Dukes of Hazzard". I may be paraphrasing slightly, but that was the gist of it.

For example, were they thinking of the Orient Express with Danger on the Hazzard Express? It seemed like the later the series went the more they played with the title references.

Kevin Harvick dominated the first of the Michigan doubleheader's winning both stages and the race. Brad Keselowski finished 2nd, Martin Truex jr 3rd, Ryan Blaney 4th and Kyle Busch traded paint to finish 5th. I hope this choosing lane gimmick dies at Michigan. What a joke it is. If you were running 3rd or 4th before the caution you could restart 6th or 8th if you choose the wrong lane .

Great question, Roger, and one I've never thought about before. Movies often have working titles that get changed before they're released, but I have no idea if TV episodes are the same. I did notice that the titles generally got longer as the seasons progressed. Maybe Gy Waldron had the final say. How many other episode titles were plays on existing songs/movies/phrases? 'Cool Hands, Luke & Bo' was obviously a reworking of 'Cool Hand Luke' (and even featured Morgan Woodward from the original movie). 'Play It Again, Luke' was probably based on the misquotation of Ilsa's famous line from 'Casablanca', although Woody Allen made a 1972 movie called 'Play It Again, Sam'. When I checked a couple of other episode titles, they actually pre-date movies with similar names: 'Repo Men' came out five years before the Alex Cox directed 'Repo Man' (starring Harry Dean Stanton and Emilio Estevez), and 'Southern Comfurts' came out a year before the classic 'Southern Comfort' (although the drink had been around for over 100 years). Has anyone got any other suggestions?

We checked out a couple of houses. One isn't on the market yet but seems nice from the outside, the roof looked excellent from the outside. The other one was definitely a handyman's special. Garage needs to be taken back the the studs if not more depending on the bug damage. House was a little better but still needs some work. Front cement porch needs to be jackhammered and redone. Also needs a new electrical panel etc.etc.etc... Went for a walk at the park today and used this new phone app Seek by inaturalist. Identified 3 plants on our walk. The app also can id bugs too if they stand still for you anyways. Also stopped at an estate sale this morning and scored a helluva bargain on some neat things. In the barn/garage was a beer and liquor bottles collection that had to be seen to be believed. They were 3 shelves full, and these shelves were the full length of the garage, and when he ran out of space on the shelves he hung them from the rafters. And here's the kicker, he didn't drink. The family don't know why he collected all these bottles. There were vintage bottles from USA, Mexico, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, France, Russia, Spain, aw heck probably all of Europe. We were there over an hour just looking at them.

Just once I would like something to go right this year, JUST ONCE, but apparently that's just too much to ask for! Some local Boss Hogg outbid us on a house yesterday, willing to pay cash on the barrel. Unfortunately that was our last, best chance to get out of this hole apartment this year since our lease is up in 3 1/2 weeks.
