What I'm Doing Right Now!
HossC replied to Hobie Hartkins's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Rashers are what the Irish call slices of bacon (back, streaky etc.) that you'd have for breakfast, so they're actually mentioned twice in the fillings. Unless it's related to breakfast, bacon in Ireland usually refers to the boiled meat served in dishes such as bacon and cabbage. -

I am always amazed at you Hoss. There is nothing you can't do on a computer.... except jump a creek with the sheriff chasing you. -

Season 1 Gilligan Meets Jungle Boy. Skipper (Frustrated over pedaling the bicycle washing machine.)"Sometimes I think the Professor invents too many things!" ๐ Also very funny same episode same scene. Mr. Howell (Showing up spotting Skipper riding the bicycle washing machine and launches into song.):"Ha ho! Ha ho! Ha ho! This is the way we wash our clothes, wash our clothes, wash our clothes, this is the way we wash our clothes so early in the morning!" ๐ Skipper:"Mr. Howell, how would you like it if I put you in the driver's seat?" ๐ Mr. Howell:"Sir, are you suggesting that I stoop to manual labor?" ๐ Skipper:"Congratulations, you got it right the first time!" ๐ Mr. Howell:"Would you ask a man with a strangulated disc and a chronic sacarilliac to do a thing like that?" ๐ Skipper:"You got all those things?" ๐ Mr. Howell:"Don't evade the issue." ๐

Bo Dukes bow, martin warthog
HossC replied to floyd012010's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Hands up, I know nothing about archery, but I found a discussion about the Dukes of Hazzard bows at www.archerytalk.com. They said, "The original Warthog had a deerslyer [sic] 300 sight on it." -

I was born the day John Schneider turned one week old so we both will be 66 next month. I was in the USMC stationed in North Carolina after getting out of boot camp in South Carolina. A lot of young Marines were talking about it so I watched it in the recreation room. I think it was Repo Men episode but I'm not positive. Been a superfan ever since. I'm glad it came out after boot camp so I can say I actually saw a Georgia episode on the night it debuted. (the ep, not the series). In boot camp we went 3 months without TV, radio, or a telephone. That's so cool that you saw the original episode on the first night....even though you were little.

Bo Dukes bow, martin warthog
RogerDuke replied to floyd012010's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
I wish I could help you. It's so awesome you are replicating it. I have an Excalibur Axiom crossbow but have only shot it twice. Looks nothing like anything on Dukes. It's good to hear from you again. -
I purchased a martin warthog bow a year or so ago. I have been told its in very good condition but was missing some stuff. I picked up the 8 arrow quiver but I had to purchase another old bow to get it but it is the correct one at least. A friend of mine brought me s martin deerslayer sight and I put a new arrow rest on it too. Was wondering if anyone knows exactly what sight was used on the one in the show? I got the 3 pin deerslayer sight on it now and it looks good but I don't think that was the one. Definitely a cool old school wood bow. Just trying to get as close as I can to the one on the show.

Well I haven't been here in a bit. The business we opened up wound up doing very well but taking up a lot of time as well but it is what it is. Wanted to answer the question that it isn't the one in north Carolina. I live in a small town called Plainville in Georgia, its between Rome and Calhoun. The garage/boars nest im talking about is just outside of Shannon ga towards Kingston Ga. The guy has a General Lee, a 69 F350 cooters tow truck, a daisy jeep and a hazzard patrol car. The garage is awesome and the boars nest is built to the RH side of the garage. Has the correct jukebox and pinball machine as seen from the show. Even has the machine that has the huge bands that Boss Hogg was using to shake the fat away lol. It's really neat how far he has put into it as in detail. He also has a toy section and there is alot of cool stuff there too.
