Hobie Hartkins reacted to HossC in A-Z Game
"This is no time for YODELING, get on with the report." - (from "Miss Tri-Counties")
It was Mr. Winkle.

Hobie Hartkins reacted to HossC in A-Z Game
As a tribute to Don Pedro Colley, a line from "Dead and Alive":
Rosco: "Listen, you know something? I have half a mind to write you a ticket."
Sheriff Little: "Coltrane, you ain't even got a QUARTER of a mind, no less half."

Hobie Hartkins reacted to Andrew D Charger Chaser in A-Z Game
One of my all-time favorite exchanges between Rosco and Cletus, with Cooter listening on the CB:
Rosco: “Now, I want you to head ‘em off at MOOSE Creek, you got that, come on?”
Cletus: “What?? What creek was that, uh, could you repeat that location, Sherriff??”
Rosco: “MOOSE Creek, you dipstick!! M as in MOOSE! O as in MOOSE! O as in MOOSE! S as in MOOSE! And E as in MOOSE!!!”
Cooter (listening on radio) “He MUST MEAN MOOSE Creek.”

There's no such thing as a No Passing ZONE in Hazzard County (That's a RogerDukeism)

Hobie Hartkins reacted to RogerDuke in Cooter Challenge
That makes me want to dig out his book and read it again. He sure is an interesting man who overcame some obstacles in life and through hard work and determination became a household word. Unless you're really young everybody knows who you're talking about when you say the name Cooter. The same could be said for all the main stars. The Dukes of Hazzard was so popular its mark on television will live on a long time. The best example of that is "Daisy Dukes". Today's teenagers might not recognize Catherine but they know what Daisy Dukes are.

Hobie Hartkins reacted to RogerDuke in Looking for the music that plays during each episode preview
I sure wish I could help John but I will say this....it's good to see you care enough to take something like this on. Good luck and we hope to hear from you some more.

Hobie Hartkins reacted to NewDuke in Looking for the music that plays during each episode preview
It's been a long time but I've never given up the search. I've learned that much of the steel guitar in the series was played by JD Maness. I was able to contact Mr. Maness a couple years ago and he confirmed that he played much of the music but he did not think any of it was ever released.
Since then, I have been looking into recreating the track by trying to hire instrumental artists through fiverr.com. However I cannot find anyone skilled enough to even attempt the steel guitar part. I'd appreciate any advice or leads on the original track. If I somehow get a good version of this, I will definitely post it here.

Hobie Hartkins reacted to RogerDuke in Alan Jackson
That's pretty cool. Flatt and Scruggs are legendary. They did the Beverly Hillbilly theme didn't they?

Hobie Hartkins got a reaction from Rollman in NFL boycott
All they are is overpaid apes ! They have no appreciation for what this country has done for them! Where else in this world could they go and do what they do and make that kind of money?

Hobie Hartkins reacted to RogerDuke in Alan Jackson
We're off to an Alan Jackson concert tonight and have 5th row seats on the floor in front of the stage. I'm not a huge fan but my wife is. I just became a bigger fan a few minutes ago when I checked wickapedia and found out he was raised dirt poor in Georgia. I'm wearing my 01 hat and orange Dukes shirt just in case he notices....they are bright colors after all....and the hat was signed by another Georgia boy, Sonny Shroyer. I'll just bet ya that 'ole Alan is a Dukes fan.

There are three places you should not politically protest 1) weddings 2) funerals 3) NFL games

Hobie Hartkins reacted to RogerDuke in NFL boycott
Living in western Pennsylvania I have been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan since before they even won their first Super Bowl but I was happy to see them lose yesterday. Maybe I'll get over it but for now I will not watch any NFL games this year, especially the Steelers. Only one Steeler came out to stand for the national anthem. That makes me sick.
