Pretend you have an electron stuck in your ear and inisist on describing the sound it makes to everyone in the class.
When everyone is quiet and working, scream out, "My eyes!"
Insist that there is no such thing as chemicals.
    Say you're algeric to protons.

I love art! I love making art, viewing art, learning about art work...
Well, my friends, I found a wonderful painting that I'm sure all of you would love! It's a Masterpiece! If any of you are fimilar with the caveman paintings in France, you'll love this one! Even if you don't like the caveman paintings, I think if you're visiting Hazzardnet, you'll want to see this work of art!
It goes to show you, that cavemen had good taste in art too!
Actually it's painted by a man named Brandon Bird. The name of the work is called "Two Warriors Come Out of the Sky".

Tell me what you think! I personally love it! This artist has captured the essense of a warrior.

Val Strate got a reaction from Skipper Duke in Anyone trying to lose weight?
No we don't have 'Slimming World' in the US but there are weight loss groups and magizines of all sorts here. Weight Watchers is a common weight loss group or Jenny Craig is another. I'm in one called T.O.P.S. (Taking Off Pounds Sensibily), and it's worked for me. Every T.O.P.S. chapter has meetings once a week and we record our progress. I'm still working on lossing weight and I'm about half way to my goal weight. Then when you have lost your weight in T.O.P.S. you get bumped into being a K.O.P.S. (Keeping Off Pounds Sensibily), they don't just leave you in T.O.P.S., they help you out and keep supporting you for as long as you feel you need it. I realize that I need to stay with T.O.P.S. because of the acountability. Weight loss for some people is something they have to think about every day and have to be concerned about it. I don't have a high enough metabolism to process food like everyone else and yes, it's a struggle for me. However, it's no excuse for me to be overweight and allow myself to slowly kill my body with over-eating or even lack of exercise because I'm born that way.
Things that are working for me, is to measure my portions, exercise regularly, eat three sensible meals a day, look for spiritual guidance and drink 8 cups of water a day or more, and not eat two hours before bedtime. These tips, I have stuck by and they have helped me loose a large amount of weight. You're going to have slow weeks and fast weeks, where you loose a lot or bearly any at all. Having a weight problem, a real weight problem, I'm talking about over 50 pounds or more overweight, is like being an alcholic. Food becomes a drug to an severally overweight person. You're also stuck in cycles of habits that are unhealthy and they are hard to break. It's hard for someone who is skinny and never had to deal with this problem to understand what it is like.
What spurred me to loose weight? It was a number of issues going on in my life currently, but the biggest one is the realization that I'm creeping up to one of those 'mile stone' birthdays soon and I go 'God am I old! Look at the shape I'm in! I'm going to die if I don't do something.' So yes, I'm trying to loose and I'm thankful you brought this up. Maybe we need a weight loss group on the group section in Hnet, 'The Hazzard Fat Farm'! LOL.

Val Strate got a reaction from Skipper Duke in Venting - Why Crime is not Cool and that I now hate all criminal minds!
I have recently had a very unfortunate event happen to me. I was a victim of crime. This event has happened to me before and I realize that I need to be more careful, maybe it's a warning from the powers that be that I need to be more careful and less trusting of the world.
However... with that being said, I currently work in a line of work that I have to deal with budding criminal minds every day. I have to help them complete their court ordered obligations so they can begin the rehabilitation processes.
Now, after being a victim today of crime... I am reminded how different I am from criminal minds and how much the same I am. I want justice to be served, at any cost. I am rational about all this but inside, I am pissed and want to vomit at the very thought that I could be working with individuals that could have done the same type of crime that I am a victim of. I feel anger and violation that leaves me feeling embarrassed, stupid, exposed, and naive. I hate the feeling and it's happened before. Unfortunately... I know it very will happen at some point in my life again. I hate that possibility and wish I could do everything in my power from it happening again. I didn't grow up on the wrong side of the tracks and I don't give a crap if someone else who did and feels they have the right to victimize me, or feel that they can just do what they want to because they were raised wrong. I don't give a crap if the world is ugly. I know for a fact, it's not all that way all the time! Why? Because I LIVED IT! I did live in a world of "Mayberry or Hazzard County" I lived in a world that even though you get lemons sometimes there is always lemonade. Not a world where people have no respect and have the right to make a conscious decision to commit a crime and have no regard for their victim. You know what, sociopaths like that can be disposed of... I don't care how, but it's sad that they have to exist in this world. If you have no respect for your fellow man and feel the world owes you everything, you can take a hike and get the heck out of town because you don't belong in "Mayberry or Hazzard County", and if you want what 'we' "Mayberry or Hazzard County" have, they you sure are not going to get it by trying to take it from us. Oh, sure, we're suppose to be understanding. We're suppose to do things that can protect ourselves and our property from your diabolical habits. After all, you can't help yourself, you're a criminal! All of the good, honest, honorable, hardworking, self-respecting people should bend to your life because you just can't help but commit crime. Who cares if you cause heartache, pain, suffering, hey the world owes you right, and that sucker shouldn't have been there in the first place. They had it coming... WRONG! What gives you the right to think that way? What gives you the right to make a black and white world gray? You can justify your actions to yourself all day long but in the end... YOU ARE WRONG! We all are. We all are sinners to some degree. The difference between you and me is the fact that I try to respect others, I try to live in "Mayberry or Hazzard County", and I put myself through hardships in order to obtain reward. I have privilege because I earned it! I learned the difference between right and wrong, and I played the game by the rules and I'm finally winning at it. It takes honor, guts and bravery to live life with respect and to not be a coward and do the evil thing, or the thing that is wrong but you make it right in your mind. I also know people who have less than I and live in the world I do and have way more than YOU, and I'm not talking about material wealth. People tell me to start seeing gray in the world; no it's about time that the world started to go back to black and white. Now yes, I know that the world is gray, but if I see the world your way, 'gray', I will lose my world of black and white, which you have already stepped on and attempted to destroy.
Now for everyone out there who wonders who I am talking to...? It's the criminal mind out there. I just want all those who think that way... I am really starting to have a hate for you. Yes, it's a strong word but after what I have been through with the criminal world, I have that right.
    Sincerely,
    Valerie M. Strate

Face the fact Brian, maybe the CMT moderaters just delete posts that are beyond there retention levels of comprehension. You're just beyond their levels of intellectual lyrical stimulation.

I agree with Daney. When I went to Dukesfest, the only time I saw the cars, really was the parade of General Lees. I spent most of my time in lines waiting to see the cast members and talking with other fans - which is mostly what I went for in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I love the car, and would love to have one myself, but remember, "the car is the star of the show" is the mindset that brought us the Coy and Vance episodes!

Val Strate got a reaction from MaryAnne in Schneider/Wopat slammed for 'racist' show
This is outrageous! I mean people are going to far with this Confederate flag BS. However I can believe it because when I was in high school, the high school wanted to ban all shirts, decals or any kind of appearance of the Confederate flag. The student body however fought back and won.
Our argument was that the Confederate flag is a symbol and that it's interpreted how ever you want to interpret it. To some, it's a racist symbol, to others, it's a sign of heritage and rebellion that harrows the idea of freedom to fight for what you believe in, and even if you know you may loose the battle. To take that freedom of expression away from someone is just as much bigotry and hate as the idea of racism in the first place. It's also taking away a person’s right to express without harming anyone, which is the first amendment of this great nation, which so many have forgotten.
I read the article from the Akron Beacon and I have to shake my head in dismay when I read this one phrase and I quote:
But Edith Thrower, president of the Cincinnati branch of the NAACP, said she was contacted a few weeks ago by Pops conductor Erich Kunzel who told her that someone had suggested that a plan to refer to the TV show in promoting the performers' appearance would be offensive. He wanted the NAACP's reaction, she said.
"I contacted our national office and was advised that it would be best if we didn't support an effort like this," said Thrower. "It's very clear how we feel about the Confederate flag and the long and arduous fight we have conducted to get rid of that symbol of a very unpleasant time in our history."
Ok, hold on here, it's a problem because you feel it's a problem. That is the problem with political correctness. Sometimes political correctness is needed but when it's in extreme like this case, it's no better than its solutions! Racism and bigotry is a feeling a person has about a race of people. It's obvious that the knee-jerking political correctness crowd is no better because they are making unfair judgments about a TV show (which they probably have never watched).
We Duke Fans aren't hurting anyone. Just in our theme song it even says, "Just a good old boys, never meanin' no harm...†We like the culture of the South, and for the Cincinnati orchestra to say they don't want to celebrate southern culture is just as bad as the idea that Confederate flag is a symbol of hate and everyone who displays it is a bigot. Now that is racism right there, and I tell you, racism does go both ways. Anyone who is educated on the matter should know that fact.
People really need to stop being so uptight about what is and what isn't.
Stick a fork in me, cause I'm done...
