  3. Occasionally, I find myself changing the lyrics of songs to something more Hazzard-like. I thought I'd start a thread for folks to post their own creations. If you have a Christmas song, post it in the Christmas Lyrics thread. And I'll start off with my Duke-ified rendition of Jose Cuervo, entitled Rosco P. Coltrane... and if you don't know the tune, you can listen to it here. Well, it's Friday night And the sun is settin' And my eyes are glued To the tv and I'm sittin' On the floor with my family I can't stop grinnin' I watched Dukes of Hazzard tonight! Rosco P. Coltrane You are a friend of mine I like to watch you On the tv all the time Did you catch them Duke Boys? Did you shoot out the lights? Did you crash yer car? Did you stop a fight? Now wait a minute This plot looks familiar The Dukes are some plough boys that fight the system Well, they're awful cute Especially with their shirts off They jumped the General again tonight Rosco P. Coltrane You are a friend of mine I like to watch you On the tv all the time Did you catch them Duke Boys? Did you shoot out the lights? Did you crash yer car? Did you stop a fight? All those crazy chases How I love this little town Let's hit the Boar's Nest And have ourselves a round Well the music is playin' And my spirits are high There's another chase a'comin' And the sheriff's gonna flyyyyy Rosco P. Coltrane You are a friend of mine I like to watch you On the tv all the time Every time we get together I sure have a good time You're my friend, you're the best Mi amigo Rosco P. Coltrane You are a friend of mine I like to watch you On the tv all the time Did you catch them Duke Boys? Did you shoot out the lights? Did you crash yer car? Did you stop a fight? Rosco P. Coltrane You are a friend of mine

  5. Hey artykidd, Wow! I LOVE that song! I'm glad that there are others out there who love it as much as I do. And, thanks so much for posting the lyrics, there were times that I didn't know what the lyrics were, and I often butchered them! JESSI, so sorry you don't like the song, you're missing out! 6. I'm a li'l late to this thread, but I just wanted to add a R.I.P. for Jerry here. For years, I had a line from Amos Moses in my sig and have added it back in memory of Jerry. My husband and I are fans of the Smokey and the Bandit movies and we have several CDs of his music. He will be missed. I won't be mourning his loss, but rather celebrating his life... Well, I got a big jug o' cider and a bottle of wine One's for my honey and the other is mine Sip on the cider, sip on the wine Both sip together and a have a good time One foot, two foot, slew foot drag Swing your honey to the Sugar Foot Rag Do a little jig and a zig and a zag And listen to the steel guitar As he plays that Sugar Foot Rag I'm gonna spend all my money And a git on a jag Swing my honey to the Sugar Foot Rag Walk right up, stomp on the floor Swing up the middle with a shoofly four One foot, two foot, slew foot drag Swing your honey to the Sugarfoot Rag Do a little jig and a zig and a zag And listen to Jerry... He's gonna play that Sugar Foot Rag

    Misheard Lyrics

I love collecting misheard lyrics. I thought I'd start this thread for all you music fans to post your favorite misheard lyrics. Elton John is one of my favorite sources of misheard lyrics. One of the funniest has got to be the song "Bennie and the Jets". The original lyric is "She's got electric boots, a mohair suit", but it sounds like "She's got electric boobs, her mom has too". LOL. And that's how I always sing it!
