Hobie Hartkins
I don't think it was ever mentioned but I imagine we could take a decent guess. It's probably in a range of 300- 3,000. The reason I gave such a wide range, is because of the time it showed the Hazzard Co. high school cheer leaders, football team etc. To have THAT many kids at that certain age, you'd probably have to have a few thousand people in your population. RogerDuke
I've always wondered that myself Hobie....although I was never clever enough to think of using the high school to figure it out. I'm certain the show never said how many residents Hazzard had. I definitely wouldn't have missed that. My guess would be that the town had a thousand and rural areas had another thousand. Whenever big events happened only a few dozen people showed up but that's simply because it would have been tough and expensive to get that many actors together. HossC
Near the beginning of the 'Reunion!' movie, there's a sign that says: Hazzard County pop unknown BECAUSE THEY WON'T LET US COUNT THEM RogerDuke and Hobie Hartkins

HossC
Just FYI, some real places that have played Hazzard had the following populations in 2018 (figures in brackets are for 1980): 14,015 (10,586) - Covington, GA 16,021 (6,567) - Conyers, GA 2,019 (1,284) - Piru, CA Piru was used in 'Luke's Love Story', 'Officer Daisy Duke' and the 2007 TV movie 'The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning'.
