Otis, never expecting his brother and sister-in-law to visit, led them to believe that he works in the Mayberry sheriff's office. Otis tugs at Andy, Barney, and the viewers heartstrings when he talks about his family's comparison, "Ralph's gonna do real good. Ralph's gonna do fine. Why can't you be more like Ralph?"
